The most interesting thing to me about the podcast's mention of Cullen was the potentially slip by the question asker, who was the interviewer for all the behind the scenes stuff. He first called Cullen "Knight-Commander" and then corrected himself...

Probably nothing but...

Is this the GI podcast where they mention him?

Yes, it starts at about 43min in. Interviewer says:

"By far the most common style of question was 'is <blank> coming back?' 'Is <blank> a party member?' .. People out there wanting to know about the mabari hound... about Knight-Commander Cullen, Captain Cullen... So, I know that you don't want to get too much into that but ..."

Bwahahaha! What good is being a Knight-Commander when there aren't any proper Templars left. More to the point, he better bloody tell us if he agreed to Lamberts rebellion move if he really is a Commander now.

Wow, that video had a section of footage I'd hadn't seen yet! (with the Dagna part)

Check this out. The load screens or map screens or whatever had markers on the map. Heh. More owls, fist/pointy circles, and lady with wings! Maybe the different markers indicate what kind of keep you've decided to put there? e.g. trade, military might, spying?

I reckon you're onto something there!

FYI, these PAX screenshots are from that same video. These few minutes are missing from the other ones I linked earlier.  The upper right image is the one that talks about Dagna that charlottecorday originally posted.

Yeah, it is suspect. Probably a red herring. Esp since we have no idea what the heck is going on with templars. I wish they'd told us more about that in the GI articles... *wistful sigh*

Lol, well most of that podcast was stuff I already knew but I did learn some new stuff. Glad Cullen got a mention, wasn't aware he was that popular outside of this thread.

Some new stuff? Write? :P

Just tidbits, nothing important. Or need to know. And Im sure these little things were all things you guys already knew. Since 99% of it was stuff I already knew, I was more focused on things that interested me. Like the glitches about the horse and the Christopher Walken sounding-Text to Speech bit. Hilarious!

Hey, does anyone have the screencap of the last names? I remember Cadash and Trevalyan, but not the elf or qunari names.

What do you suppose the locations are for? Is that where that particular file was last saved? Or where he/she comes from, do you think?

Mhmm that's what I was thinking. The first one that is ... where the file was saved last.

Where s/he comes from would only be significant if each race could come from multiple locations....

I would bet it would be where that particular file was last saved, if I had to guess.

So, I finally got to a point where I could watch part of the PAX demo video, and I came across Mike Laidlaw's line "So, you'll be able to forge your own weapons and armor, give it the silliest names..."

My :o:lol: turned into :crying: after a moment, though. After 12+ times through both DAO and DA2, I have trouble thinking up new names for my mabari! But hey, maybe naming weapons won't be quite as bad. "Firebrand" will do in a pinch, right?

Based on what we've seen, I'm definitely going to need a new computer. I anticipate that my current machine would melt if I tried to run that on it.

I'm halfway through the podcast... ML is talking about armor customization. He says they will have circlets along with traditional helmets, and that you can find materials to make your favorite armor more powerful so you don't have to don the more powerful but uglier (in your eyes) gear...

I hope we get lots of cool and non-armor-looking outfits. That's part of what keeps me coming back to Dragon's Dogma; if you really want to, you can arm your character in traditional armor, but I had a, for example, a warrior who basically wore a tunic and then a coat over that, plus gloves and boots. And it's super high level armor. She looks awesome without looking like a walking tank.

Never fear... I have an sword in Skyrim that I enchanted with both flame and electric damage... named ShockyFlamey. Cuz I'm clearly good at naming weapons. LOL *for shame*

I'm hoping this as well. It sounds like that's the direction they're aiming anyway. I would've loved putting the rogue!Hawke champion armor on my mage or warrior. I didn't care for those looks. Hopefully, I'll be able to sport the Pimpquisitor hat on all rolls. And make it purple. With a big @ss feather ("use the feather!"). Bam!

They revealed surnames. Whether they're "canon" surnames in the way that every human Circle mage in DAO is named "Amell" and every dwarven commoner is named "Brosca" is anybody's guess.

They were all rather nice, and at least one will be familiar. The Dwarven surname was "Caddash" (I may be spelling it wrong) and the qunari one was "Adaar". Lola has a pic posted a page or two back.
