Well, it looks like Cassandra, the Grey Warden dude, and our Inquisitor so we know they are party members. That Elf chick looks like Sera from the survey leak, so I'd say that's probably another companion right there.

Ya, too hairless to be Varric... maybe it's Mr. McSmuggins. Can't see his ears but his face seems angular enough. Either way, I adore this piece and really want to know more about the girl telling the story. She looks completely crass and I love it.

Neither confirm nor deny, but really, what was he supposed to say? A blonde elf has appeared in several gameplay videos and is well-developed enough to have a personality that's recognizable in art. Waffle all you like, Mr. Gaider.

I'm actually in the camp that this "Sera" will not be a companion.

Let's be clear: this blonde elf has only showed up in concept art. The survey suggested Sera would be an archer. We know now that Varric is filling that spot. I think she's been relegated to NPC status.

He doesn't seem to have edited his post.

It's possible that I am reading too much into it, but I'm having a hard time believing that the writers would develop the personality of secondary characters to the point where they would be recognizable by their facial expressions alone. And would an artist make concept art about secondary characters relaxing in a tavern in the first place? Sure, there's concept art about a lot of things, but if the characters aren't important, they're often shown from the back or with undeveloped faces. Like the inquisition soldiers in the coronation thing.

There was a blonde elven dual-wielder in one of the gameplay videos. Her hair looked kinda greenish in some of the shots because of lighting, though.

That doesn't mean that the roster hasn't changed since the art was made, but you never know. Or they could have changed the weapon focus without really changing the character all that much... although I kinda hope they have. "Bratty" is a major turn-off for me, so I'm hoping that things have changed a lot since the survey.

Mostly, it's the bearded guy and the reclining man in the foreground that interest me.

I was just thinking that too as I typed that  Varric seems to be a special case, as he was in DA2 w/ his signature weapon. Maybe he'll be able to swap to daggers if we choose, but his "main" weapon will always be Bianca
