Gotta say, this is the first time I've ever not been tempted to look into the main DA thread. I was all over the Gen discussion thread for the first two games, but yea, as you said the toxic posts just make my blood boil. It's so much more pleasant to be able to be in a thread where you know you can have mature, reasonable discussions about the game, and not have to worry about that sh*t *huggles Cullen thread*

It's mostly just the continuation of nasty little feuds that began elsewhere - the ME3 forum, I think. Just best to ignore it.

I'm not ruling anyone out, and I mean that. I actually hope we *are* dealing with a Bethany/Carver situation quite literally, as in "Bethany/Carver" are the DLC companions. Yeah, I know it isn't going to happen, but I would love it to itty bitty pieces if I got a chance to see Carver on his own, forging his life away from his sibling.VampOrchid wrote...

That isn't quite what you meant, I know, but addressing your point directly, I wouldn't mind if accepting one companion locked out a different one. It adds a lot of replay value!

How do you mean, exactly? And who do you mean? (I know who Beth and Carver are, but I mean who are you putting in their shoes?)

We might get companions that will only show up if we pick a certain race or class like with Bethany and Carver in DA2.
Bethany for Rogue and Warrior Hawke, and Carver for Mage Hawke.

Right, I got that part. I mean, who do you think they'll put in or take out based on what you choose for your Inquisitor?

It would be so nice to see Carver grow up more so than he showed at the end of DA2, more so than seeing Bethany again (she always seems like a tortured soul no matter what you chose, even if it's less so with the Circle,
Can you imagine? Little Carver all grown up.

That is why I prefer Carver. He wants to make something of himself, and he does - AND he grows up. Bethany doesn't change much...and she even makes a few snide comments that just make me want to smack her. *sigh* But, I did hate killing her in the Deep Roads on this PT I'm doing. I still like her...but I like my ****** of a brother better. XD I can see him leading his own band of Grey Wardens someday; or even lead some Templars to do good.

I always notice Carver's change, and never took notice of Bethany's lackthereof. I used to prefer her, only because I have one other sister and it just added to how connected I could feel with her but she's just a bit of a drag, as sweet as she can be.
I could definitely see Carver leading by example, especially with the Templars, to aspire to do good. Damn, now you really made me want to see him again in Inquisition. I hope it happens- or at least a mention of him.

You know maybe we could get at least a Carver cameo if Cullen is leading the "normal" Templars and you didn't take Carver in the deep roads with you. That be sweet.

Same. I didn't like Carver at first, but he really grows on you and even though Beth is more useful by the time I play Legacy (force mage with haste, yes please) I prefer taking him.
Both him and Cullen are such nice surprises at the end of the game, maybe that's why I love them both so much? Characters that truly evolve (not just you seeing new sides of them) are great, makes you feel like you have made a journey with them.

Thank you! I was intrigued by the note at the top and wondered why no one was discussing it, but digging around for it made me realize it has to do with that mobile phone game.

Sorry, can't help it. And I really mean that. I'm kind of a numbers person. I count and compare, and that gives my world a kind of order, if that makes any sense. Seriously, if I'm doing a repetetive task, I'll sit there and do fractions about how far along I've come, reducing them to the lowest common denominator as I go. Once, I figured out the size of a Dungeons and Dragons gold piece based on the stated price of a room at an inn, the current cost of a hotel room, and the price and density of gold. When that was done, I went on to calculate the size of silver and copper pieces. My dungeon master was highly annoyed.R2s Muse wrote...
LOL yeah... I know. And, I mean, of course! It's the Cullen thread. But, it seems folks are getting a little caught up in the numbers game. I mean, two games already does not a pattern make (and this is coming from an astronomer who would just as soon call each set of companions "Population I" and "Population II" ! LOL ).berelinde wrote...
Wild speculation is so much fun tho!
Anyway, I don't mean to stress anybody out. It's just an annoying quirk I've got.
I'm sort of the same way. Discussing stuff that we have no clue about at all isn't really my thing, but comparing clues and estimating probabilities is really fun.
I don't ever mean anything negative by it, I just really enjoy testing ideas through argumentation with smart folks, and this is by far the best place on the forums for it. Hope you didn't mind, Berelinde? I wouldn't debate with you if I didn't think I could learn something new from it.

I absolutely don't mind! I feel much the same way that you do about debate. This corner of the forum has a lot of intelligent, articulate people, and it's often enlightening.Commander Kurt wrote...

I'm not very familiar with Asunder. Does anyone have any solid ideas as to who it might be? I know Cole seems to have a large backing (though personally, I've had enough of the spirit-type) and it seems fitting that we need a spirit of sorts to fix the tears in the fade.

Could be Wynne's son Rhys or maybe Fiona (although I think she was older... saw Duncan through his joining or something... don't quote me!) They're both mages. Or Evangeline (Templar)?ArinTheirinCousland wrote...
