Given some of the other threads floating around at the moment, what do you see as Cullen's sexual orientation?

Do you think he's bi? Straight? (I don't think he's gay as he obviously had feelings for Amell in DAO)

Would it bother you if he were either of the above options?

I seem to take him as a straight man, though it would be surprising to find out he's otherwise given he had a cruch on the femmage and not the malemage back in DAO.  Though once I'm thinking more on it, I think he's a, "Married to his work" kind of guy.  Which I can totally respect, though I'm sure after a while he'll stretch his horizons out a bit and see what's out there for him.  Though a guy like him, I wouldn't be surprised if he were already married(Shoot, I wouldn't let that go if I were married to him) which would make him as a companion even more awesome :D

Oh man, that is an interesting idea!  And, not just because I would have to laugh at the collective fangirl tantrum it would invoke (LOL  mine included!). Aw, jeez, that's just another plot bunny waiting to happen, isn't it...? The little missus at home, that he never really gets to see... so perhaps hardly even knows...? Ah, what a conundrum if he were to then meet the exciting new PC who knocks his socks off... for perhaps the first time, and then decisions, decisions. I don't really see him being the cheating sort, but talk about angst.

BTW, does anyone know if the concept of divorce is ever mentioned in the game? ok... wiki'd a bit, and ironically, the "Sexuality and marriage" page says the Chantry doesn't allow outright divorce (without working references). But elsewhere, it is mentioned that Cailan was thinking about divorcing Anora to marry Celene I.

I think originally he was supposed to be straight (either that or he just didn't find our male mage Warden attractive lol.) However, the DA team are all about equal opportunities so he'll probably be bisexual in DA3, which is cool with me, just means I'll have a hell of a job romancing anyone but him LOL... That's if he's even romancable... and not married. Oh man, I hope he isn't married, that would suck.

That's another reason why I never made Alistair King (especially if hardened), just incase he took a liking to Celene lol! (Hurray for metagaming!)

Perhaps you guys can help me with something. I'm trying to recall situations where Hawke had to fight templars during the game. For all that my PCs typically seem to end up pretty pro-mage, I'm having a hard time remembering many templar encounters before the end.

There are the big, obvious ones:
1. Ser Karras and Grace -- I recall I was mortified my first playthrough that I was trying for a moderate solution, and ended up actually killing templars!
2. Ser Alrik and his baddies
3. Marlene Selbrecht side quest, where you encounter a templar death squad and some other wrong doings.
4. Best Served Cold, the Midnight meeting and those quests where you're actually fighting rogue templars from Thrask's group.
5. Ser Varnell, but he's just the one guy and working for Petrice

Can you guys think of any others?

There's a Templar encounter at Sundermount where they're trying to get Feynriel back and you can either choose to help them or the Elves.

Y'know, with all the Templars we can potentially kill in DA2, poor old Cullen must be missing over half of his men, no wonder he was stressed!

That being said I can see why Cailan was gonna leave Anora, she comes across as a bit of a control freak... I can't imagine she's the nicest person to be in a relationship with lol.

Ah, good one. I forgot there was a templar aspect to that one with Feynriel. And, yeah, Cullen laments that in Act 1, right? How they can't keep their recruitments up? LOL Indeed, kind of a sucky job.  I just... I had this impression that Hawke was fighting templars left and right, and I can't really think of so many instances...

I wonder if he knew Hawke was the one killing off all his recruits? He must've had a rough idea? Unless he was completely oblivious, in which case he'd probably be very upset that his friend screwed him over lol.

I'm sure there must have been more encounters, it's easy to miss a lot of them.

I dunno... reading those "secret" letters, it sounds like it was just the fertility thing. In one of the letters, Eamon calls it "putting her aside" as opposed to the actual "d" word. Are there other indicators that they also didn't get along?

For myself, I was kinda torn sometimes on Anora. When she betrayed me while trying to save her... can't forgive her for that. BEEYOTCH! But, talking with her afterwards about who should rule... it always seemed like she'd be better at it than Alistair.  Of course, I was metagaming as well, trying to get my happy-alistair-ending. So when I (mistakenly it seems, since I didn't read spoilers at first) did the city elf origin on my first playthrough... yup, Anora got to rule. :)

I just figured she was probably very controlling, especially as Calian was a bit... idealistic and childish (must be a sibling thing?)

The first time I done the Landsmeet as a city Elf, I offered to be queen with Alistair and he explained that he wouldn't be able to take a wife who isn't a noble, so I was like "ok fine, Anora can rule" LOL! I figured he'd have to dump the Warden if he was made King and I wasn't gonna harden him, I'm not that cruel.

LOL look at you, zoning in on my brainwaves again. That's part of my new story idea, that they, um, clash over these encounters during the game. But that means, I need to try to remember them now! I think the Marlene Selbrech ones might be enough, since those are pretty damning for both the templars (some of whom are an actual "death squad") and Hawke (who, you know, kills them). But I also want some more innocuous ones, where Hawke just stands up to some templar bullies or something. It seems there should be something already in the game, tho.

I'm channeling you today LOL!

I'm sure there was more, check on YouTube? Maybe typing in "all encounters with Templars in DA2" would bring something up?

Argh, almost every vid comes up with the mage vs. templar ending of DA2.

But, this one is funny:

New question for you all:

If Cullen found out that it was Hawke killing off all his Templar recruits, what do you think his reaction would be?

I think he'd feel a bit back stabbed, even if Hawke was a mage supporter because despite the fact that they may not see eye to eye when it came to their beliefs, Cullen still respects him/her and Hawke is probably one of the only sorta-friends he has from Ferelden (possibly his only friend?) Since Cullen seems to be pretty oblivious to the behaviour of this recruits, I doubt he realised just how bad the Templars we killed off were, so It's unlikely that he would consider it a blessing in disguise lol.

I'd happily have both of them as companion/LI's, but I'll always have more of a soft spot for Cullen, simply because he's so hopeless and could do with a little affection (poor thing.)

Got to see Alistair's and Morrigan's voice actors at Comic Con.

Would love to see Greg Ellis at one of these cons one day.

[hmm, started this response several hours ago... oh well, here it is anyway!]
I think it would all depend on the context. So far, there aren't that many situations where he/she kills templars that were just doing their job (protecting Feynriel with the Dalish, I think is one). Most are templars doing something unethical -- Ser Alrik, Meredith's death squads. The thing with Ser Karras I think is a bit of a toss up... but I always thought that felt a bit forced that suddenly all the templars wanted to kill me.

So I think if Cullen gave Hawke a chance to explain, it would be a great opportunity to explore what he really thought was going on behind the scenes at the Gallows.

Ah, so awesome! Saw pics of both of them. At least Claudia Black I guess was over at the BW booth with David Gaider...? Sooooo jealous that you're there!!

EDIT: of course, didn't occur to me until someone over on devart mentioned it... but could it mean something that Claudia Black was signing autographs at the BW booth?? Could Morrigan be coming back??

Could that also mean that Steve Valentine is coming back? Although he did mention on Twitter a few months back that he hadn't been called to do any Bioware games and he's also got a comic book/novel thingy out so he might have been there mainly for that lol.
