Just a quick question, but am I the only one that sees Eamon as a downright manipulative and vain man? Anora may not be noble blood, but she's more than qualified for the job, so what's so bad about her taking the throne? (Shakes head) I REALLY grew to hate him by the end. I think he may have had something to do with Alistair trying to break up with a non FNH.

I'm sure Cullen (or even Bann Teagan) would have told him (Eamon) to shove it.

I wasn't keen on him from the minute I realised that he pretty much pushed Alistair out of the family home. I mean, sure he was the bastard son of King Maric, but Eamon was supposed to look after him and instead he pretty much pushed him away and then sent him off to the Chantry.

Also, did anyone else get the feeling that Eamon's wife Isolde was having an affair with Teagan? I wouldn't be surprised if at some point Teagan had some sort of brief trist with her in the past, hell she even attended the party at Chateau Haine in DA2's with him rather than her husband. Dodgy LOL.

As a Teagan fan, I actually think he would NEVER sleep with Isolde and I think hes been a bachelor all of his life because he DOES NOT WANT a relationship like Eamon has with Isolde. I think Teagan has always spent too much time living under Eamon's shadow.  He was the youngest Guerrin. Rowan was like 13 or 14 when Teagan was born. He's 9 years younger than Eamon.  There are issues there....at least in my fan fiction. LOL

Oh and I dont take his appearance with Isolde in MOTA seriously. I think Isolde insisted she attended only because she's Orlesian.

If he hasn't ever slept with her, then I reckon Isolde definitely fancies him lol.

In one of my fan fictions...Isolde drugs him because Eamon shoot blanks. 11 years later Teagan discovers Connor is really his son.:devil:

Now THAT I could definitely see happening! I'd say she's crazy enough to pull a stunt like that.

It just sounded something an Orlesian would do. And I forgot to mention...in my fic...Eamon KNEW and said anything.  I've always considered Eamon to be an opportunist.

But back to Cullen since this is the Cullen thread....  :wizard::lol:

I think Cullen and Teagan have always been my favorite npcs because the Yaoi fangirls have not taken them over like Fenris and Anders.

Now I love a good slash fiction now and then and especially if its written well but some in the fandom have turned it into a novelty and I don't like how condscending a few would get when you paired femHawke with one of the male characters.

Another worry I have is if they make Cullen a companion, will they create a mage companion and will we end up with a variation of Fenders?

So long as he doesn't come back as a love interest, that'll make my new protagonists life VERY difficult... plus, I'd be pretty pissed off if he'd ditched the Warden or visa versa lol.

He'll probably be a quest giver or maybe involved in searching for the Warden (more so if he romanced her), no doubt we'll encounter him again, especially for those who made him King. As for Morrigan, I think she's a sure thing for DA3, maybe not as a companion, but definitely some sort of encounter that bigger than your average cameo.

Oh, god, no, I can't imagine either Alistair or Morrigan coming back again as a love interest. That just seems much too angsty... I dunno. On the other hand... I suppose if you didn't get a crack at 'em the first time around... Hmm. I wonder if they would do that? Is it like Kaidan and Ashley coming back for ME3? Or way too different because it's completely new PC with no history with these people? Hmm...

I think you're right that it would be more like a significant side quest of some kind. Particularly with Morrigan, since DG has said in past that, for example, the OGB would have to be an optional plotline due to it being a major player choice. I totally expect to see it as a side quest you only get if you chose the ritual, or something. That would be SWEET!

What would be also cool is if they would have some kind of DLC that let's you choose all these inputs for an error-free save game to import... kind of like Gibbed's Dragon Age Save Generator or that DLC for ME2. Then, even if your save is wonky, you can get the decision points you want. I think that would be better than the few character histories you could choose from in DA2 chargen.

Eek. I guess I don't really read Fenders at all, since it just  seems unnatural, so I don't really pay attention to any of that. For Cullen, I don't think it's as unnatural for him to be paired with a mage. He's come a long way, and he was never a hater to  begin with. Just scarred and scared (heh). That said... I do wonder if they would write a possible love-hate angle like that into the character, for those who want it. I would hope not... since I think there's already plenty of issues for Cullen to deal with.

So, for fun... my 3yr old son has been coming up with a new Halloween costume idea every day for the last week -- spiderman, jawa, wonder woman (! - yeah, he wanted us to dress up together), ninja, Iron Man. Today he says, "Mommy, I want to be Cullen for Halloween." D'OH!! My brain of course jumps to exactly how to create such a costume... any old kids knight armor, draw a sword of mercy on the breast plate, slick back his blonde hair ala Spike from Buffy, add a skirt and a sword! Vwalaa! Of course, he changes his mind two minutes later when he finds out it won't involve wearing a mask, so it's back to Iron Man. But for a moment, it would have been a pretty fun costuming challenge!

Yeah that's what would worry me if they did bring them back as companions (even if having them as an LI is based on whether or not you romanced them in DA:O) because, if the import flags are as bad in DA3 as they were in DA2, there will be a lot of angry fans out there... especially all those that play on a console or that don't have access to the next Gibbed editor.

Manual inputs for the import would definitely work better, perhaps that's something they could add to the game in a DLC or update if their import flags are ballsed up in DA3.

It'll definitely happen if Cullen's ever made a companion/LI in a DA game, hell they've already paired him off with Anders and Jowan, and I think I even heard about one where he was paired off with Alistair (now that's a man sandwich I wouldn't mind being the filling in!)... but anyway, it's that whole rule 34 thing, isn't it lol.

I never really liked Eamon either, especially when he was yelling at Alistair to become king, "Become King for ME, Alistair- oh er I mean, for Fereldan!"  So yeah with the non-FNH I'm sure he was uncomfortable with a Human/non-human romance in the first place since it seems like most nobles don't like non-humans all that much(been playing too much CE lately)

I was really hoping for Teagan to say a bit more during that part as well, he seemed to have no problem with snapping at Anora in the earlier part of the game.  It's about time he stepped out of his older bro's shadow!

I think Teagan has always hated Isolde and stayed at Rainesfere to avoid being around her. He was only at the Landsmeet with Loghain because of Eamon being ill.

I always remembered a line Loghain says to Eamon at the 2nd Landsmeet at how he's gotten fat and lazy. Loghain in a sense was right.  I think he married Isolde out of lust and thats why she got away with the things she did.

LOL! A Cullen/Alistair/Warden 3-Way relationship :o

But seriously I think if he became a companion, I would likely pair him with females only.   I've actually dome mhawke with Anders and Fenris and it was rewarding and fun but with Cullen I dont think I could do it.

I couldn't blame Teagan for not liking Isolde, she was a vain shrew.  Where exactly is rainesfere anyways?  WWould have been nice to go there :\\...  I'd have to agree with the Marrying Isolde for lust thing.  I always thought that perhaps her talents were just hidden away somewhere and she'll surprise everyone but that never seemed to be the case for her, it almost seemed like she were a misstress and not a wife...

She definitely looks a lot younger than him, I think you're right, it was a lust/status thing. He married her for her looks and the bonus of having an "attractive" younger woman on his arm, and she gets to live a life of luxury, spending money on fine clothes 'n' jewels and hold lavish Orlesian style dinner parties lol.

Latest news from Comic-con (copied from another thread:)

I'm sure many have already see it, but just in case anyone hasn't here it is.

Starting off with Dragon Age: The Silent Grove, which was digital first and recently released in print.

Gaider "When BioWare came to me and asked if I'd like
to write a Dragon Age adventure I said hell yes. Then they asked if I'd
use the characters from the games and I said hell yes"
"Taking Alistair, Varric, and Isabela, some of my favorites from both games, and slapping them together was pretty fun!"

Now Dragon Age: Those Who Speak, again featuring Alistair is coming later this summer
Marshall "Again they'll travel to locations you've heard about in the game but have never actually seen"
Gaider "Yeah, they're continuing the search from Silent Grove, and this time it will take them to the Tevinter Imperium!"

The series will not just show Tevinter for the first time, but also introduce some new characters - heroes AND villains.

The second series will feature all three of those core characters, but be a very pivotal story for Isabela in particular.

Gaider "There will be three series total in this
initial arc. The first focused on Alistair, this one on Isabela and will
tell a bit about how she became a pirate"

Sten from Dragon Age: Origins will also be making an appearance in "Those Who Speak"

Atkins asked the panel "What do you think is the most satisfying part of bringing these games into comics?"

Gaider "The part I like is that there are some stories
that fit better in a novel or a comic. I wouldn't be amiss that your
favorite part of the games is the characters. Getting to see them and
their story, pick up some threads that the game left unanswered, their
history or a dangling plotline. It lets you play with things more fully.
it answers those questions but also provides a separate enough
adventure."

Gaider, "Yeah, we'd love to put all of this into a game, but we can't do those kinds of individual side stories."

Gaider also said he loves that Sylvia approaches Dragon Age a bit as a fan, both in the game and comics

Atkins, "What's the difference in the writing process?"

Gaider, "The first is that you don't have a player character, which may sound pretty obvious, but it makes the process very different.

The other thing is the hard limit of the space. For a game we're talking
upwards of a 100 hours, for a novel we're talking hundreds of thousands
of words. So having a hard 22 page limit changes the way the story
goes. You have to have little arcs instead of one 100 hour arc."
"It's been fun to see the different challenges and advantages of working between games, novels, and comics."

Gaider, "I'm not gonna tell me long crazy story how I started working at BioWare right now.
"I started with BioWare 13 years ago for Baldur's Gate 2.
Dragon Age was my next logical step, then we started looking at
the novels and comics and it's beneficial for us having these other
stories and getting the actual staff to work on them, fans appreciate
that, too. That's how that came to be!"

Gaider, "Sometimes it's hard when you love a character
so much and don't want to kill them, but if you don't follow through
with their story and they need to die for the story you're doing them a
disservice."

Oh gawd, I hope they don't kill off Alistair!!!

Ah, yeah, I read that. Very interesting. Over the moon that we'll learn more about Isabela, and looking forward to Tevinter. I also wonder about the death... eesh. That would be one way to not worry about fan backlash with a DA3!Alistair model... :)

Lol there would just be huge backlash for killing him off. Plus, he's DA's biggest money spinner so they'd be making a huge mistake if they do. Maybe they'll kill off Sten instead?

Oh man, talk about a brilliant way to sidestep probs with his (hornless) model. LOL Interesting. Just so long as it's not Al, Izzy or Varric, I'm good. :D Honestly, I never got Sten... left him in camp and just ground my teeth in frustration everytime I talked to him and my approvals plummeted with no identifable pattern I could find.

And, speaking of models... here's a Cullen... DA2 model FTW!
