I get the impression Allan just likes to challenge assumptions in arguments.....and probably wants to let people know his all seeing eye is upon them so watch the pitchforks!

I have this sickening sense that David Gaider and friends might enjoy making us dismember the fan-Favourite Knight Captain. Surely they couldn't be sooooo lost to human feeling! :0

Oh I dare say the option will be there, lol.

Oh! I know how our Inquisitor could be meeting up with Cullen... Oh, darn. Forgot about the Circles rebelling. Well, in any case:

Suppose he was on his way to Val Royeaux, escorting mages that didn't rebel in Kirkwall (like the three that surrendered) to a new Circle, and he meets up with the Inquisitor there? He could have been escorting them before all the Circles decided to rebel, been almost there, and then when he gets there, he finds out that there isn't any Circle left. So he goes to the Divine to find out what he should do, and where he should go, and while he's there, Cassandra and Varric show up with the soon to be Inquisitor in tow. And Vivienne is there already, because she's pro-Circle.

The game takes place after the Asunder novel, when the circles have already rebelled, lol.

Inquisition takes place after Asunder. I'm talking about right after the events in Kirkwall. How long would it take to travel from Kirkwall to Val Royeaux while guarding three mages? A couple of weeks? A month? I mean on a realistic time-scale, not gaming *POOF!* and you're there magic time-scale. With the events between Kirkwall and Asunder, he has time to almost get to Val Royeaux and find out that the Circles have rebelled. Or at least get word of it in his travels, and still feel it's his duty to take the mages there anyway, both because it's his duty to not let them go free, he doesn't want to kill them because they did the right thing by surrendering in Kirkwall, and they want to be part of a Circle, like Vivienne.

True. I'd prefer something a little more dramatic though... just cos I'd like to see him suffer a little before my Inquisitor rocks his world!

We'll have to set you on that then Lolalei. :)

To be honest I've lost my copy of Asunder, I think I left it at the hospital once when I was visiting and I haven't replaced it yet. I'd have to order it internationally and that's a pain in the butt etc. So I can't really remember the details too clearly can someone remind me what exactly the relationship of the Templars to the Seekers at the end is? I have ended up with the impression that the Seekers are still aligned pretty much with the Chantry, the Templars have gone Rambo-ing after the Mages and well we all know the Mages have given the bird to pretty much everyone.

Thing is I might be only thinking this way about the Templar Seeker thing because it makes it more likely that Cullen and Cassy could exist comfortably together in different companion slots.....my brain does this sort of selective story editing for me sometimes and I know we're stuck with Cassy the magnificent grunter from Navarre. So anyone got a potted 3 second breakdown of facts. :)

At the end of Asunder Lambert (head of the Seekers) calls a meeting with 14? (I think?) Knight Commanders from Circles around Thedas with plans to sever the Nevarran Accord, they put it to a "vote" and all 14 (or however many there were) agreed with Lambert to break from the Chantry (apparently some seemed apprehensive, but agreed to it anyway). So the Templars and Seekers have now split from the Chantry/Divine. However, there are still some Templars and Seekers that have remained Divine loyal and faithful to the Chantry.

So Cass must be one of the few Seekers that remained loyal to the Chantry. At least, I would think so, considering she's working under Leliana at the end of DA2, and Leliana is working under the Divine. Maybe it's Lambert that is the head of the Red Templars. If it was his idea to break away from the Chantry, how else is he going to get his lyrium? And lyrium for the templars beneath him?

That's where things get confusing, because right at the very end of the book Cole sneaks into his room and "seemingly" kills him. The book ends before he does "his thang" but it seems that Lambert was killed. Of course, it's possible that Lambert somehow managed to counter-block it, since he's a powerful guy, but I guess we'll find out in DAI.

Oh cool, you clever and knowledgable bunnies. :)

Ok if Cassy is a Chantry loyalist which is pretty much a given then I think with a bit of rose-colored glasses-ness then there's probably room still for a Culleny companion....particularly if he's gone a little more over to the looney side of uncompromising. All is not lost, hope lives another day....is my flu medication showing....I think it might be

I doubt he's gone to the loony side, David Gaider said he was a good guy.

At any rate, even if it's perhaps unlikely it isn't impossible that the devs have made the Chantry/Templar viewpoint distinct enough to warrant the inclusion of his character as a companion. If both groups were perfectly aligned, I think we'd be completely out of luck seeing him in the party.

I hope you're right, but my faith dwindles every time we see another companion "accidentally" pop up in one of the videos.

We only have five companions so far, that we can really say are companions. Varric, Cass and Viv are all confirmed for sure, Sera and GW are visually confirmed by gameplay videos. That still leaves room for four more. Cullen could still be in there.

You gotta stay optimistic! It's Cullen's turn to shine.... Why does that make me think of Twilight? Edward Cullen sparkling in the sunshine? Oh damn.

Unless Cullen's naked rippling chest is dripping with water reflecting the sunlight, I'm not interested. XD

Honestly, I'm always so flattered and humbled to hear from anyone who likes what I've done with the costume, so it never gets to the point of it being a bother.  Ever.

Jenn has indeed been really supportive, especially considering she's only played up until Ostagar in Origins and hasn't experienced how great Dragon Age is.  We threw a Meredith costume together for her early last year in about four days(in spite of her not knowing who the character was), but she usually prefers being in plainclothes when I'm in my Alistair costume(Dragon*Con this year was a prime example of this).

Regardless, I'm not planning on leaving her for anyone else.  Sorry.  ;)

ALSO!  The podcast!  I am in.  Just keep me posted.

Well, this is certainly awkward... Image IPB

I hope I didn't cause offence, or make you (or your girlfriend) feel uncomfortable. I'm really quite normal, uh, normally. Soooo, sorry. Image IPB

No need for apologies, I promise.  No offense was taken.
