Ah, yeah, I read that. Very interesting. Over the moon that we'll learn more about Isabela, and looking forward to Tevinter. I also wonder about the death... eesh. That would be one way to not worry about fan backlash with a DA3!Alistair model... :)

Lol there would just be huge backlash for killing him off. Plus, he's DA's biggest money spinner so they'd be making a huge mistake if they do. Maybe they'll kill off Sten instead?

Oh man, talk about a brilliant way to sidestep probs with his (hornless) model. LOL Interesting. Just so long as it's not Al, Izzy or Varric, I'm good. :D Honestly, I never got Sten... left him in camp and just ground my teeth in frustration everytime I talked to him and my approvals plummeted with no identifable pattern I could find.

And, speaking of models... here's a Cullen... DA2 model FTW!

Lol yeah he was a tough nut to crack. I wouldn't want to see any of them die though... It was bad enough them doing it in Asunder. I mean, if they're going to do it then they could at least do it in-game.

Hahaha that is such an unflattering picture of DA:O Cullen!

LOL yeah. So, not really a fair comparison. I think it was more for the lighting comparison with the hair (and the mole or lack thereof). Of course, now I always think of his modded DA:O model... but I love them all.

Here's a better one:

I absolutely LOVE his expression in this one, it looks like he's having post-performance anxiety, like "****, was I that bad that she fell asleep? Oh Maker... what if she was faking? What if she just wants this to be a one off casual thing?? Sweet Andraste, I should've asked her before hand... maybe I should wake her? I better not, she might yell at me... Maker, she's even more beautiful when she's asleep, I think I'll just watch her sleeping for a while... her hair smells really good. I wonder if she'd let me brush it sometime?" LOL.

Latest tweets from Mike Laidlaw:

Kendall Price Jr: "man I'm sitting here playing Dragon Age II for the 5th time but I wish we would be getting Dragon Age III sooner than 2014"

Mike Laidlaw:
"We'll try and make the wait for another DA worthwhile! Thanks for the note, glad you're having fun with #2."

D: "will you lot think about having a Tal'Vashoth party member?"

Mike Laidlaw: "Damn tempting. Some have argued that Tallis was almost sliding to Tal'Vashoth, in fact. But we'll see how the cards fall!"

Andrew: "...hello! how are you? i was wondering, do you accept any suggestions right now about DA3?"

Mike Laidlaw: "Always listening, but not talking about a third DA in any official capacity."

Andew: "what i think it could be great (and a few others thinks the same) is to have alistar as a partner and have a bisexual romance with him"

Mike Laidlaw: "I'm sure lots of people would dig that, but we change main characters, and I wouldn't want him cheating on the warden."

Andew: " I see... thank you for answering."

Frank Ryan:
"i like to know why you feel the need to try and revamp da so much it seems to work as is its one of my favorite games"

Mike Laidlaw: "In part because I always think there's room to improve, but I'll be the first to admit DAII didn't make all the right steps."

Oh, no. Please, by all that's holy, don't tell me they're making Tallis a party member. I really don't want DA3 to be the Felicia Day Show.

Looks like we've got our rogue character then... would have prefered Nathaniel.

Maker's Breath!  Please, for all that is holy no Tallis!  I could see her as a rogue character but not one part of the main group....

It really wouldn't surprise me if she is. She definitely has some sort of future in DA, be it in-game or comics/novels/movies.

They should just keep her in DLC land and not place her in the actual game Image IPB

This tweet...........shocked me.

Mike Laidlaw: "In part because I always think there's room to improve, but I'll be the first to admit DAII didn't make all the right steps."

I never thought I'd see an actual acknowledgment from a developer that admits to missteps with the game.

I guess there's no point in denying that they really missed the mark with DA2. In a way it's good that they're openly admitting it, because it shows that they feel confident that they can drastically improve things in DA3.

I hope they make up for it in DA3(or whatever they'll call it) Since they finally admit that da2 wasn't as good as they hoped it would be they'll move on and make DA3 awesome.

I'm actually glad that they cancelled the DA2 DLC to move onto "the next big thing", it shows they're ready to wipe the slate clean and start again.

Assuming the DA3 protagonist can choose to unleash righteous hell on the Templar Order, preferably to the point of its obliteration, would Cullen go along with this or turn on the PC?

Knowing David Gaider? Probably turn on the PC or die for him/her.

I belive that admitting there are things they can improve on has been part of their ongoing conversation with the community since Darrah announced the end of DA2, so this doesn't really surprise me. I also think it's a good sign for the future.

That's precisely it, what is being a Templar all about? I want the Dragon Age team to show us, by making him a companion (and love interest) in Dragon Age 3. I mean, it's all well and good them showing us Templars in the form of NPC's, but why not give us Cullen as a companion and let the protagonist find out first hand.

Well, we have Alistair. However, forcing a pro-mage character to tolerate a loyalist templar is... a bit on the unreasonable side. Fenris was bad enough, and his reasons are far better than any templar I know of. From what I can tell, the Templar Order is about being a homegrown demon to your charges, and the darkest rise the highest. If there are exceptions, maybe they can find a place in whatever new comes after the Order is ash on the wind.

True, but Alistair was never a full Templar (thankfully.)

The way I see it, if Cullen is to be introduced as a companion/love interest in DA3 then he'd need to be having some serious doubts about the Templar Order and their current methods (which he appeared to be having towards the end of DA3.) Of course, if he is a companion then there should be the option to either A) not recruit him or B) kill him, for all those that don't like him. However, I don't see why Cullen shouldn't be a companion just because some people don't like him. I don't see why we shouldn't be given him as companion, loyalist-Templar or not, we had a mage-extremist in Anders, which could be considered "unreasonable" to pro-Templar supporters. Besides, we all know the DA team have no problem with giving us controversial companions.

Btw, I'm pro-mage. But, I like Cullen because he's had very interesting character development during the course of 2 games and I'd be interested to see how he continues to grow as a person in DA3... and he's hot lol.

Assuming the PC is a Seeker, they would still be affiliated with the Chantry, and the templars are just as much renegades from it as the mages. So Cullen would have to be willing to side against the templars to join the PC, and to be honest, I don't really see this happening. He had doubts about Meredith, but Meredith by the time of Act 3 was down to the "talking to herself and hearing her sword sing" level of insanity, and Cullen still defended her until she turned on her own subordinates. Including him. I've never really seen him doubt the very premise of the Templar Order, and that's something that I think would be necessary.

I'm hoping the PC won't be a Seeker, for many, many reasons. But that's an entirely different conversation.

See, that's one of the reasons that Cullen probably won't be a companion/LI, but that doesn't stop me from hoping that he is one lol. That being said, the Templar Order is now in complete disarray because not only have the Mages gone rogue but the Templars have rebelled too, however, I can't see Cullen siding with the rebel Mages because he's so regimented when it comes to following the Chantries rules, and since the Templars have broken away from the Chantry he'd probably go straight to the Divine to seek guidance. If that's the case then it opens up several possibilities as to how he could end up becoming a companion.

During the course of DA2, over time he begins to voice his concerns about Meredith and the Order. There's no denying that in Act 1 he's a extremely anti-mage, but don't forget he's still suffering PTSD after his torture at the hands of the blood mages in DA:O; BUT over time he does start to mellow, to the extent that a pro-mage Hawke can influence his views, hell, if he hated mages that much then he wouldn't have spoken to Hawke about our female Amell Warden so wistfully. And let us not forget that he spared the 3 escaped mages at the end of Act 3 and defended them against Meredith (you only get to see it if you side with the Templars though.)
