Maker, I hope they do Cullen's character and story arc justice. Even if it turns out that he isn't a companion/LI, I hope he gets a decent amount of screen time and answers some of those important questions we've had for years!

I hate how dead this place is already. I thought for sure the latest info reveal would've kept the thread moving for longer.

I guess it's probably just gonna jump in short bursts until the game is finally out. I wish I could think of something Cullen related that we haven't already talked about, lol.

Even though it looked like they revealed a ton of stuff, they really didn't. Okay races, mounts and some companions but that's it. If they really are done with revealing new stuff for this year ... wow, that another 3 months at least, with only old info to discuss over and over, lol. I'm hoping for something around Christmas at least or maybe at the VGA's? I think there isn't anything big coming up anymore, is there?

I guess that's true. I was hoping they'd realise the in-game demo footage... not that it tells you anymore than what you already know, lol.

It's weird, it feels like they've revealed so much, yet at the same time they really haven't, lol. I'm not entirely sure what they could even tell us story-wise without it spoiling things. I mean, on the one hand I'd like to know more about how/why our protagonist was in the area where the veil ripped and how he/she witnessed it (or possibly even was part of it) in the first place. I'd also like to know a little more about each selectable races background in terms of their Surname (since apparently each name is supposed to be of some standing/importance historically, like Cadash). However, if they told us that then it would kinda ruin the surprise.

I guess I'm torn between wanting to know everything, and wanting to keep it a surprise for when I play the game. Man, if the script leaks for this I know I'm gonna end up ruining it for myself by reading the whole bloody thing.

Well, I guess that Dragon Age Keep beta will be happening in early 2014, so we're bound to at least hear about it and maybe see some screenshots, if nothing else.

I think the VGAs happened a couple of days ago, didn't they? I know the Edmonton Expo is happening this week (I think), but I think it's just the same info and panels that were at PAX.

I really don't know. I thought they were always in December.

No idea, I looked on google but it just kept showing me the 2012, lol.

Gah, I just wish Fall 2014 would hurry up and get here.

Well, we know a lot more than we did two months ago, so that's something.

Something might pop up during the Edmonton Expo, but I doubt it. There's not a lot of Bioware fans in their backyard, so it's not very high profile.

It's more than likely things will be really dead for the next few months, then start picking up again around February (or sooner, depending on when the Keep beta is ready).

Not just regarding Cousland, but with the DA protagonists in general. For example, when Hawke's mother died (to me) it felt like a bit of an anti-climax because Hawke didn't really react how you'd expect. Now, granted some players are going to want there Hawke to react differently depending on how they felt about Leandra etc, but I kinda wish that we'd been given the option for Hawke to break down as she passed away, or at least cry as he/she was talking to her.

Well, I found Hawke's reaction to be somewhat in keeping with Hawke's nature as the stoic big brother/sad clown, though it bugged me in DAO that the CE Warden never even whispers a word when learning about the Alienage being purged.

"Oh no. My actions have brought ruin upon the Alienage. My family could be dead. *pause* Well, better go to the potion shop."

We could think of questions that we have about Cullen that we hope will be answered in DAI.

My questions: Where was Cullen raised, and by who? How did he join the Templars?

Yeah, my theory is that April will be the time when the pace really starts to pick up since they'll wanna start heavily promoting the game. It'll be these last 3 months that'll be the slowest, I think.

Once we hit January/February 2014 the rest should be a cake walk.

I would really like to know more about the Voice actors.

What I don't get though is that Greg Ellis tweet about Inquisition was pretty early in development, but then the person that oversees that stuff said there is hardly anything done yet. So they knew Cullen would be in the game in some capacity early on, so at least he probably wont be an afterthought like Thane was in ME3 /ouch.

I seriously hope it's not because he's the antagonist. Our Cullen, leader of the Red Templars. :crying:

In case you haven't seen it, DG poking his head into Anora love/hate situation on tumblr.

"Or that you’re going to depose her and definitely put Cailan’s idiot bastard brother on the throne" - Ouch, lol.

Personally I always put Anora on the throne anyway, even though my Warden is romancing Alistair. I don't know why people don't like her.

I always try and go with who I think is best for Ferelden so originally that was the pair of them, but then I read the Calling and it made me sort of dislike arranged marriage even when they're for the greater good and both parties are consenting.

Anyway I originally was on the Anora "hate" train simply because she rubbed me the wrong way and back then "hate" for a game character for me was dislike in a world where I loved everyone lol. I dunno it's the idea that she was willing to sell out her family that really bothered me I think. I don't really hate her though,  but that's just because I don't really hate anyone :P. That and DG made some good points on the betrayal front.

Good idea, Chanda! Mine are:

1) What was his life like before he joined the Templars, does he have any family to speak of or was he an orphan?
2) Where did he go after the end of DA:O? Was he really sent to Greenfell first, and then onto Kirkwall? Or was the Greenfell part retconned?
3) Did he really kill/hurt mages in DA:O and that's why he was sent away? Or has that definitely been retconned? (Sincd they could still put that in as a reason).
4) Has he ever been in a relationship before? If not, why? If so, why didn't it work out?
5) What happened to him after the events of DA2? Was he made Knight Commander? If so, did he side with Lambert? Or did he have to go on the run/was punished for insubordination/whatever?
6) Does/did he ever have any friends/a social life whilst in the order?
7) Did he know about all the rape and torture going on in the Gallows? If so, why didn't he do anything about it? And if he did know, did he at least try to put a stop to it?
8) Does he still know "never to trust a mage" (even though he does with a mage Hawke), or has he/will he finally realise that any form of power can corrupt if you're that type of person.
9) What are this thoughts on the red Templar situation? Does he know how it happened?
10) Is he Divine loyal? Or part of the rebel Templars? Or neither?
11) Can I shag him?/Can I properly romance him and not get my arse dumped?

It's funny, because I've been kind of keeeping up with that "I'd like a Templar companion" thread, and the way people are going back and forth over Cullen there... DG's end comments almost make think that he's talking about Cullen in a very hidden type of way, using Anora as a mirror to Cullen. No one is really talking about Anora on the forums that I've seen, but there's been a lot of talk about Cullen. It's like he's responding about it, but using Anora as a cloak.

Yeah, it does seem odd that GE was one of the first batch of VOs to get their character's dialogue recorded. If it was just a piddly little cameo/minor npc then surely that would've been something that got recorded much later in the development process... Especially considering they're still using text-to-speak in parts of the game (according to the dev's tweets).

Chanda: There are plenty of negative Cullen confessions too, it makes me wonder of he'll eventually chime in on one of those, too. Then again, any mention of Cullen from DG will likely get twisted and people would jump to conclusions about how heavily Cullen will be involved in the game.

Ok, here's a sort of revision question in light of all this new information:

Now that we've got a rough idea of the main storyline, and that there are bad red Templars running around off their ****** worshiping the big bad and cohorting with demons etc, what sort of introduction would you now want for Cullen when our Inquisitor finally meets him? For example, would you still want him to have been locked away for insubordination? Or would you controversially want him to be part of the red Templars etc.

I kind of think he'll be like Archangel from ME2. He'll be investigating the Red Templars on his own, secretly, and join up with the Inquisitor to stop them.

Speaking of Templars, I get the feeling that there might be three types of them in DAI:

The Divine loyal ones, the rebel ones that sided with Lambert, and the nutty ones that are huffin' red lyrium and attacking everything in sight. I think this because in the demo presentation they said that the rebel Templars are hunting mages in the streets, right? And during the demo itself you had red Templars that literally attack anything/everything, like that village in Cresswood that was full of innocent non-mage civilians, not to mention the Inquisitor's outposts, lol.

So I think maybe the red Templars will be the obvious consistent enemy, and then you'll have the Divine-loyals and the rebel/Lambert-loyals, of which you can maybe choose to aid/enlist to help your Inquisition (if you want) depending on your general stance on the whole mage/Templar situation, and which you feel are the lesser of two evils/morally correct.

I either want to rescue him from some dungeon because of insubordination. I could also see him still doing Templar duty but without the corruption, after all there are mages that want to be in the circle so they need the templars for protection. Or he did a complete 360 and is a "Freedom for Mages" kinda renegade ... nah.

If he'll be an antagonist I hope we can recruit him after we fight him. If not well ..... I'll have to live with it. :crying: At least I hope they would give him a good freaking reason for going crazy. Red Lyrium is not going to work, I'm sorry. He saw what that stuff does and he would not take it voluntarily.
