Considering Qunari lose out an en entire quest hub, I wouldn't doubt that there'll be at least as much reactivity as in origins - possibly more.

I'm not sure I quite follow here. Why are Qunari losing out on an entire quest hub?

I think city elf is more likely than dalish elf, myself.

Haven't they already confirmed a Dalish elf origin during PAX?

I agree, I'm a bit worried as well. I loved pretty much everything that is loveable about DA2, from the personal setting to the all-bi companions, and am more than a tiny bit afraid that many of the things I really liked in DA2 will revert to their DAO design.

But of course, BioWare has yet to make a bad game in my opinion, so I'm sure it'll turn out all right. Whether I'll end up liking Inquisition better than DA2 or not remains to be seen. I mean I absolutely adore Mass Effect and Shepard was a pretty important person right out the gate.

Yes, this is how I feel. While I loved DA2 and have my concerns that BW wants to pretend that DA2 never existed (thanks a lot fanboys! Grrr) ... it's still BW, and I know they'll create a great game. Will it have the special place in my heart DA2 has? Maybe, maybe not. But that's a personal thing with me.

See, this is why they don't like to leak info too early; we freak out and start complaining a year in advance

We don't know why, but apparently they are. Whether this is due to Qunari not dealing with Tal-Vashoth, Tevinter shooting first and asking questions later when it comes to oxwomen or anything else, who knows? =)

Yeah. That's why I try not to take my worries very seriously =) We don't know, after all. No need to go full exaggerated drama queen (just yet :bandit:) ^^

Ah, I see what you mean now. Yeah, I'm also expecting huge reactivity like this. I would, of course, presume that the other races will also have things they'll miss out on... to make it fair. At least, I would hope!  :?

I want to say it was from the race customization panel...?  I think it was the one where they also confirmed non-Saarabas Qunari mage.

BUT I also meant to say that I'd also be surprised if they didn't offer city elf, too. ^_^

What I'd really like is... country elf. (Great, now I'm thinking of The Country Mouse and The City Mouse...)  Sort of like the family you meet in Lothering in DA:O. Or... an elf whose family is part of a band of traveling merchants.

I just want something new, you know? Although if it's between city and Dalish, I'll gladly choose my darling Dalish again :)

I think they would still be considered City Elves by the Dalish because they live among humans. But having an elf live in the country instead of the city - sure, why not.

The Dalish are snobs lol

But I'd like to play as an elf whose family rejected a life of servitude in the city, but who aren't interested in joining the Dalish. They take care of themselves, farm their own land, sell their own wares, etc. Like the elven version of Bodahn and Sandal.

I wanted a traveller background. I guess I can always pretend my character was fed up of living in the shadow of her/his Surname's history, and decided to break tradition and be a nomad, LOL. She just happened to be in the area when the veil ripped. Yup!

Lol, yes they are. I like to imagine my Dalish returning to her people, looking around and going:

"Y'all are ****s!" *rage-quits clan*

Cullen, though not confirmed as a party member yet, seems a sure thing and will certainly be a LI if included.

How BioWare Fans Set Themselves Up for Disappointment: A Case Study

Yes. It's not lost on us that, when it ultimately does come out as to who is romanceable and who isn't, there will be people who have built up speculation to the point that those romances all but existed in their minds-- and we'll have taken it away from them like a beloved teddy bear. Yanked it right out of their hands as if a romance had already been written and we deliberately deleted it.

The idea that every character that is so much as glimpsed must provide concrete proof as to why they shouldn't be romanceable is a bit eyeroll-inducing, but such is life in these parts.

David's speaking in general terms, however. He just doesn't like it when people speak with such conviction. This isn't him putting down Cullen in general at all.

He may be generalising but the chances for Cullne being a companion/LI look very slim at this point I mean sure, there was that tweet from Greg but that was months ago,  and the devs said on twitter that they just recieved  an envelope with some romance scenes just now witch kinda makes  me think that since Greg did his part a while ago he's not gonna be a companion, and he will be something along the lines of DA2 again

Just wait and see what happens.

DG isn't gonna give any indication of his inclusion, be it a companion/LI, important npc or just a minor npc/cameo. He didn't categorically state that Cullen is out of the question, only that not everyone will get what they want. That isn't aimed solely at the Cullen fans, but everyone in general. For example, perhaps Cassandra isn't romanceable despite people wanting/expecting her to be one, or perhaps Varric won't be romanceable even though his fans want him to be. Or maybe a group of fans want Charade (Hawke's cousin) to be a companion but would be disappointed if it turns out she isn't.

It's crowd control, that's all.

The thing is they are STILL doing voice sessions. They asked for our favorite voice actors, and they did say they've barely touched that part of the game-making process. BioWare could actually have some of the voice actors still in the booth because they have a large role; and they are adding stuff in no doubt because of the extra time they have.

Yes, I'm holding out for Cullen to be a LI and/or Companion until proven otherwise.

Don't judge me!

Yeah, he certainly doesn't sugar coat things!

I wonder if he was always so abrasive on the bsn, or if that's just something that happened after the DA2 thing when they were taking out petitions to get him fired, and personally harrassing/attacking his work mates?

When Greg was recording his lines, the game may still have been on a 2013 release window. I'm guessing much of Inquisition was pretty rushed, and now much of that was thrown out to be completely redone with an extra year of iteration time.

Many previously voiced lines will still be in the game however, albeit they may need extra sessions to accomodate changes.

Let's not forget Laidlaw's death threats =( Sometimes I really, really hate other fans...

But that's also why I never mind David speaking the way he does. In my mind, he's pretty much never directing his snark at me anyway. I smile and snark with him in my head. Cause I'm a perfect saint and he'd never scold me :innocent:

I didn't even know about the death threats to Mike Laidlaw! And he's such a nice man! It makes me wonder if a large percentage of gamers are just completely ****ing mental.
