When Greg was recording his lines, the game may still have been on a 2013 release window. I'm guessing much of Inquisition was pretty rushed, and now much of that was thrown out to be completely redone with an extra year of iteration time.

Many previously voiced lines will still be in the game however, albeit they may need extra sessions to accomodate changes.

Well that could be true...however, a lot of the companions from the leaked survey had kinda showed up in the game , such as the elf girl, gray warden and Iron bull , and I kind of doubt that  they will include 4 worriors  even tho personally I dont care how many warriors we have as long as we get Cullen but other ppl  dont like to have unbalanced classes apperantly, so... unless Cullen changes his class or something.... things dont look to good for him... as far as him being a companion...

Sorry for being so negative... Im just bummed  cause apart from the tweet and the war room concept art  witch DG said that not all of the ppl on there are companions  kinda  put my hopes down.....

Well I'm not fully convinced the Iron Bull is a companion it helps. And 4 warriors doesn't seem so bad. There's 9 companions, which may or may not include the DLC character, so 4 warriors is far from unreasonable if you ask me. Especially if they can let us play a totally anti-mage character who doesn't even want mages in their party.

What puts me off is that Cassandra is a sword and shielder, Beardface is a sword and shielder if concept art can be believed at this point and if memory serves, and Cullen is also a sword and shielder, (again if I'm not mistaken). Yeah we can always change it over but....you know. I don't like change.

Im not quite sure  where the Iron bull stands either, and as far as the 4 worriors thing goes I dont have a problem with it  as I said if that means we will get Cullen  then I dont care how many warriors we have .

And as for the  S&S thing  in DAO Cullen was a 2 handed warrior so I guess they could switch him back to that if he were to be a companion..

But I guess Im done with my negative ranting for tonight untill they will officially annouce who the companions will be... so till then  we will just have to wait and see, but for right now Im gonna keep my hopes low untill there is something more solid

It's all just speculation at this point. We only know about Viv, Varric and Cassandra for certain. I think what is pretty clear is that they're trying to make the fans happy and they've been responsive to feedback. I don't think this means that they'll say X many fans like this character so they're romance options, nor do I think that BSN posters are necessarily indicative of the wider fan base but they will be aware that the character has struck a chord with some players. They're going to do what they believe the best thing for their game is, if that includes companion Cullen then he'll be there. Either way we've done our job as fans and let them know that this character is interesting to us, we'll see what if anything comes of it.

It could be possible that Cullen is one of those characters that brings so much feelings, regardless of what those feelings are, that they want ppl to speculate and not give anything about him away at this point. As for Greg doing early vo work, they could have been testing the ropes with him to see how they felt about him being a companion.

So having ppl debate about him being in game or not gives a more shock factor depending on what they do with that character.

It's not lost on us that, when it ultimately does come out as to who is romanceable and who isn't, there will be people who have built up speculation to the point that those romances all but existed in their minds-- and we'll have taken it away from them like a beloved teddy bear. Yanked it right out of their hands as if a romance had already been written and we deliberately deleted it.

The idea that every character that is so much as glimpsed must provide concrete proof as to why they shouldn't be romanceable is a bit eyeroll-inducing, but such is life in these parts.

Huh... chiming in late, but, for myself, this doesn't worry me at all. It must  be all kinds of annoying when the devs see fans school other fans about what is "known" about something that hasn't been publicly confirmed yet. I'm sure it's just his chance to jump in on that... particularly when it comes to the romances, which will kick up a huge sh!tstorm when announced, no matter who's in or out.

It also follows his partyline about fans, pitchforks and headcanon, which he's said before about the Cullen fans... but also about every other fan as well.

So, agree with Lola. Crowd control. Or is that rumor control?

I just noticed something that I hadn't before because I don't have Bethany in my party is that Cullen says:

*Stern/angry* "Consider yourself fortunate, her cooperation allows us to spare you the punishment for harboring a dangerous mage..." *softer tone* "This once." 

So even from the start he was pulling strings for Hawke (even after he gives you that heads up about the rumours surfacing about Bethany), and yet later on he discovers that we harboured another dangerous mage (Anders), and even if you don't report it he still sides with you at the end, lol.

Ha, sometimes I don't think poor Cullen is a terribly good Templar.

I haven't heard any of the Bethany stuff because I've played mages in all the DA2 games I've managed to finish. Thanks for sharing Lola.

LOL, I can't always tell if it was purposely done with him seemingly looking the other way, and/or just being  oblivious, or if it's down to the game being rushed out the door.

It's like the final battle scene, he's right there fighting beside you and gets covered in blood and then when Meredith turns into a husk he runs in from the side with his men completely clean like he hadn't been fighting at all!

wow thats cool I havent heard that either, is it  like an ambient convo or something? Cause everytime I click on him he just tells me about hearing rumors about Bethany even when shes not in my party...

This is from when he hauls her off to the Circle when you come home from the Deep Roads. He's simply delicious when angry...

Nope, it's a scene that happens when Hawke returns to Gamlen's house after the Deep Roads expedition. You only get it if you left Bethany at home with Leandra though, because Cullen comes collect her and take her to the circle himself, rather than getting someone else to do it.
