She had no need to be in DA2, we didn't do anything to warrant her returning.

Tbh, I felt that Morrigan's story was pretty much done when they sent her through the mirror. If I was still playing as the Warden then it would be of interest to her to find out what became of her friend. However, my Inquisitor doesn't know Morrigan or have any emotional ties with her, so I kinda feel like the moments past, if you get what I mean?

I can see what you mean... but since Morrigan goes off into "another realm" or something - which I thought was the Fade - and Flemeth speaks of the world having wronged her and bodies being "limiting things"; I'm inclined to think they're not exactly human and that they are more involved in the underlying problems of Thedas - or involved in solving them, as the case may be. Morrigan says, in the trailer, that she's "seen more of this war than you can imagine". She and Flemeth have always given me this impression of being more interested in something grander and more sinister than the immediate threats faced by the Warden and Hawke. So with DA:I being about some kind of insidious evil behind everything that's going wrong, it feels more like what Morrigan was really "meant" to do is finally coming to pass. But that's me. *shrug* :)

I think in Morrigan's case, a lot of people still feel unresolved as far as the Dark Ritual and the "Hey, where's my kid?" feeling. Or, in my case, it was "Hey, I'm Alistair's wife. Where's his kid?" But people who refused the DR might not care either way.

Seriously, just for a second imagine if the returning characters were Zevran, Fenris, Aveline, and Cullen. Did your brain just explode? Yeah, mine, too. Because that would NEVER HAPPEN. Not a one of those was romanceable by a straight male, and none is considered a straight guy's "bro."

You mean as companions or NPCs?

I mean if they're the same as Varric, Cass, Morrigan, and Leliana. Like let's say Cullen and Fenris are companions, and Zevran and Aveline are very important NPCs that you interact with throughout the whole game (like Morrigan and Leliana).

It just wouldn't happen.

Do we know we'll be able to intetact with Morrigan and Leliana the whole game? Morrigan can still be important and only have three or four conversations with the PC like Loghain and Meredith did.

Cullen can still be a companion, Anders was a romance who transferred over from an expansion and played arguably the biggest role in DA2

They confirmed that we will have a lot of interaction/encounters with Morrigan, yes. They didn't say anything about how often we'd speak with Leliana, but there was another "kinda" leak that suggests we will.

Yeah, I mean isn't that because this game was supposed to be the resolution of her story? That and we didn't even see her in DA2 lol.

Leliana really is BioWare's baby though, fans had very little to do with that, though I agree it's kinda crap because they could have just replaced her with Sebastian...idk

She had no need to be in DA2, we didn't do anything to warrant her returning.

I never took the Witchhunt DLC seriously. I knew she would be back in some compacity.   As for Leliana. I didnt hate her but shes not a fave.

I had Alistair do the dark ritual and my Warden was romancing him. I guess I'm just not all that bothered about what became of the kid, I know he's safe since he's a bloody old god LOL!

I'm more bothered about whether or not my Warden and Alistair are still alive and still in a relationship together.

... I wonder if the OGB will feel kinda bad for attacking Ferelden when he was still a manky looking blight corrupted dragon?

LMFAO, I've been saying that Teagan and Isolde were having an affair for years! I still wonder if Connor is secretly the son of Teagan and not his brother. Gawd, that would be awesome! :lol::lol:

Well my Warden didn't sleep with her, and didn't romance Alistair, who did sleep with her. So I could care less about her kid, honestly. I also didn't take Witch Hunt seriously because WHY THE EFF was my Warden going after her?? He didn't even really like her. Such a dumb DLC............... once again, pretty much solely catering to the people who made male Wardens and romanced Morrigan.

No, my Warden romanced Zevran, who pretended he didn't exist in DA2 and trounced off to sleep with Isabela <_<

If Fenris shows up in DA3 and tries to sleep with Cassandra I am burning my xbox

Funny how the two women LI's got their own dlc, isn't it. Where was Zevran's dlc? Or Alistair's? Or Shale and Sten's? And then in DA2 Tallis got a DLC of her very own.

WHY NOT ZOIDBERG?!!!

Hey everyone, how goes it?

Hey, there you are!  You getting your laptop working again so you can get off your phone??

My laptop is trashed I have to wait for my financial aid reimbursement to get a new one.

Ah rats... I hope that doesn't mean til  next semester/quarter?

No my school is just really slow.

Sorry guys for coming in here just arguing right off the bat....I do recognize that BioWare still has a way to go with how tuey treat their characters.

Anyway...I had my first Cullen dream last night.

So Cullen, Vivienne and the Grey Warden are traveling down a road, the Grey Warden senses some tension between his companions. Inquisitor isn't really paying attention,, but is somewhat listening in. The Warden asks what's wrong, deep almost german accent, Vivienne with an Orlesian accent starts to really down Cullen for being a pawn of Meredith and murdering so many in Kirkwall before finally growing a spine.

Cullen stays quiet, looking uncomfortable until she finishes.

"I lived in Kirkwall for almost ten years, I had been filled with a hatred and given the tools to act upon that hatred. I followed a leader who, more than anything fed that lust for vengeance and told me that I was justified. I saw the horrors of blood magic and thought my cause just. But then...my perspective began to change. I heard the rumors of abuse, of heinous deeds done under my watch, I thought them cruel jokes at first, but soon I could not ignore the bruised bodies, torn robes or how a mage would flinch when Ser Alrik looked at her.

And then the Chantry went up in a blaze, as Meredith lost the last vestiges of her sanity and with her Kirkwall. I killed all who stood against her, I can't tell you why, only that with each sword stroke I felt the surety of my doctrine ebb away.

I did stand against Meredith, for a mage even, but that does not redeem me. I walk this land with the weight of my sins and one day I will face my Maker. I hope only that I do some good before that time."

"Pfft, you think you can reverse the damage?"

"No, but I want to try anyway."

If he said something like that, I'd be like... "ok, you're forgiven! My bed, NOW!"

That would be the perfect way for him to redeem himself, he gives a good reason why he acted the way he did, and wants to try to put it right even though he knows it's probably not possible.

 Your Teagan maybe. My Teagan is embarassed by her and considers Isolde the scourge of the family. He loves Connor though but Isolde made him fearful of following his brother's footsteps which is why he was not married.

That cut dialogue from DA2 where he gives Hawke a token an admitting tha she reminded him of someone who was dear to him made me melt.:o:wub:

I always suspected that Isolde wanted Teagan but he would have nothing to do with her in that way. He couldn't betray his brother. But he does love Connor and as soon as Isolde said his name, Teagan was right there, running off with her. Teagan strikes me as a loyal sort of chap. ^_^

Edit: Oops. Sorry for the double post...

Thanks guys, but the random neurological firings in my brain and unconscious desires are to blame lol (don't mind me taking Intro to Psych)....though to be honest I was a little distracted by Vivienne's accent at first. I was OMGBBQ ORLESIAN ACCENT!!! and then Cullen had his speech and I was like. ...why can't you work like this when I'm awake brain?

So coming back to Morrigan, I have no doubt that she has some role in the big, bad things Flemeth has hinted of. So in some sense, I suppose her involvement in DA:I is inevitable since the devs are necessarily choosing an Epic™, world-changing, World In Peril™ sort of story this time around.

It's the unresolved personal stuff that's a little bit of an odd fit, since we're not our Warden (and Witch Hunt was supposed to have addressed that). But, I think DG addressed just that fact in that GI article, didn't he? Saying something like she has a bigger reason for being there? Or am I remembering that wrong?

Well they definitely said they're taking her to a very human place, and that it will be much more apparent with the OGB in tow. So I think either we're getting some of those nice cutscenes we got in Origins that featured Loghain and co. or the Inquisitor will be getting lots of conversations with her.

Huh, that's right. Hmm, that's sorta the opposite of what I was thinking... "very human" sounds very personal... Hmmm, I sure hope they make it relevant to me/my Inquisitor instead of forcing me into cognitive dissonance, feeling that wistful anxiety over my husband's unseen bastard...

LOL  I think I might be fine with the epic scope of the story, however cliche that is in mainstream fantasy, so long as I can play an innocent thrust into events beyond his/her control (cause that's not a fantasy cliche, noooo).

I think DG's pretty firm about not catering to fanboys (or fangirls) so he's not too into the DR stuff. If Morrigan has to be in the story, he's going to make sure that she makes sense.

Hmm. Anybody going to import a non-DR save? I'm almost thinking about doing it. I wouldn't mind my Warden never becoming Warden-Commander because that was never his style anyway. And Witch Hunt already doesn't make sense. And his LI is forever glitched.

I'm curious to see how Morrigan without a child will be like.
