A refresher never hurts. Jason Hill is a technical designer, right?
Yeah. Maybe he needs a reminder of what something looked like in DA:O that'll be returning again in DAI, like an area or something.

I'm not finding fault, R2! I'm sure that whatever the writers cook up for us, it will be great. So if you're reading anxiety, it isn't intentional, at least not on my end. As I said, my horse isn't even in this race, so I'm watching with curiosity and general anticipation rather than any kind of emotional investment in the outcome.R2s Muse wrote...
If they do add non-companion romances, I'm sure no matter how many words are assigned to each, they'll appear to be 'lesser than'. Regardless, I still want one! I don't think we'll ever have any idea what could or couldn't have been shoe horned into the new game. It's the same roundabout argument with Day One DLCs. Is it content we would have gotten anyway or not?
I think DG's point that they don't want to talk about anything they're not sure about is a good one... Maybe they're experimenting with something new, so not sure how it'll turn out? I think they've earned the benefit of the doubt.
And with that in mind, I am very curious about what they're doing differently. I get the distinct impression that they're making some kind of change about the way the companion relationships are handled, and I'm curious to see what it is. Not skeptical, not anxious. Just curious.

It certainly seems like they're doing something different. Makes me wonder if maybe they've taken some ideas from Mass Effect 3 and adapted them/made them better.

Of course I have hopes and wishes, a bit... but I won't burn down bioware headquarters if the game does not live up to those XD (well ok... maybe

Yeah, I'm curious too! There are not too many things I would get upset about beforehand. I am a bit wary for the 'loss of health regen' and 'keep sieges' parts so far, but I know I will get the game anyway unless they would go really awkward. The fact that they are taking more time for development is a good thing, imo. I just try to not expect too much, in order to prevent 'disappointment'. Ah well, I liked the story of DA2 too whilst friends of me kept complaining about it. Yes it was different, but that was not bad! Guess it was more of a general roleplay story, which I liked ( the non-standard hero things... yay!).

I know I'm gonna end up horrendously lost and dying frequently, but that's ok. I guess it'll force me to level up properly, craft/upgrade weapons and use rune slots since usually I tend to forget or not bother, lol.

I haven't played any of the Mass Effect games, so I'm not sure how they differ from the Dragon Age series, but I can count. I hope that none of the ideas they're taking from ME involve the number of romances for a straight female compared to everyone else.LolaLei wrote...

I don't think they'd do this. The games are different; the fan base is different.

Well, to be honest I do not want to be forced into such things... So I hope it will not really matter on easy difficulty.
I have played about halfway ME1... than I gave up as I really could not care at all about the gameplay

I'm also someone who liked DA2 an awful lot... it was actually what sucked me into DA more than DA:O. So I'm pretty excited for whatever they do. I also hope I don't suck at the game if it requires so much technical strategy stuff with gear, crafting, using the environment, *gulp* and all that. But I figure that's why the Maker invented "Casual."Mahumia wrote...

Also, I had the same experience with ME1, Mahumia. I couldn't do it... although I later discovered a great list of mods that apparently make it much easier to play. I should probably go back again one of these days, but it also induces motion sickness in me.

I think after playing Draogn's Dogma: Dark Arisen (F@#$ING BITTERBLACK ISLE) that I will have absolutely nooooo problem with DA3 lol I'm actually starting to get curious about the weapons, armor, spells, etc... which in my opinion is not a great thing because the focus of any BW game should be the STORY.
Gameplay and awesome CC is truly all that saves Dragon's Dogma.
ME is basically a shooter. Ahh... maybe that's why it's easy for me. (Keep in mind I don't play on hard; I'm not like some awesome gamer chick.) But again, the story is what makes it. Shooting things is only so much fun. (But it is fun hehehe)

Which is probably the *only* thing I'm nervous about with regards to DAI. If they go with a ME-style GUI, I'm sunk. Interacting with the environment by hitting E while simultaneously holding down W and scrolling with the mouse... Say what? I mean, I move around in DAO & DA2 by holding down W and scrolling with the mouse, but when I want to interact with something, I kinda expect to stop walking and just click on it. So I guess you could say that I'm E-Inept.

And thanks, R2s muse for bringing it back around to templars. We should probably be dialing it back to Cullen at some point, too. Wouldn't do to get the thread locked for going too far off topic. That said, I got nothing.

All I've done is bookmark this post from tumblr, so I haven't tried any of it or anything. I just saved it for a rainy day when I might eventually go back to ME, since it's like the original poster was speaking directly to me and my issues! LOL And, I guess they're not mods... they're actually cheats, if you're OK with that.berelinde wrote...
Would you mind sharing the list of mods that make ME easier to play? (Via PM) Part of the reasons I failed to get into it was that I just couldn't master the controls.

edit: (and, yes, MMG, it's the shooting thing I just can't do... hand-eye coordination...? Nope. I kept getting overrun by the husk thingies... since I couldn't shoot them in time... and it freaked me out. )

About the armor, I love that armor. I'm really fond of the DA2 male torso, and I just can't get enough of it... except that I don't use the mod. I'll strip the guys down to their small clothes as they parade around Lowtown, but I just can't bring myself to put them in stuff that has heavily armored arms and shoulders and leaves the vital organs exposed. 1) It provokes fits of uncontrollable laughter. 2) I just about have heart failure when I see archers. Everybody has their quirks, right?

Same here: I suck at shooting things and using the environment. I will check it out too if I ever touch ME again.
... I did not know you could see the torso in DA2... I was just always drooling at that young templar recruit (Kerran or something?) Think I will need to play dressup with them boys

So say DAI went this route, and had no romance. One of our companions is Cullen. You can become friends with him, or rivals, but the romance option is completely out. Until you buy a DLC pack. Suddenly he has flirty lines and all that good stuff that we come to expect from Bioware romances. Even more content on the sex scenes, if you're into that.
What do you guys think of that
