I think it was a troll response to the other thread about romances that's open. The mods got snippy with some people and then this new thread opened up, a strange coincidence?

There seems to be some group around at the moment that are getting their thrills from hassling people who enjoy aspects of the game they don't. It's all a little icky and juvenile for my taste. The forum's been kind of horrible over the past few days, I haven't wanted to participate at all.  :(

Yeah. It's a crazy forum out there.

On a different note, I was looking at the DA wiki for The Masked Empire (http://dragonage.wik...e_Masked_Empire) and I thought the ending part of the synopsis was really interesting:

"Alliances are forged and promises broken as Celene and Gaspard battle for the throne of Orlais. But in the end, the elves who hide in the forests or starve in the alienages may decide the fate of the masked empire."

If The Masked Empire is supposed to be a supplementary backstory for what's happening in Inquisition, it would seem that the elves are going to play a fairly big part in what could happen in the game.

Yeah, they don't tend to visit aside from the rare occasion when they pop in to say hi... or spy on us, lol.

Sometimes I imagine they come into our thread just to escape the madness outside this thread. The rest of BSN terrifies me. I don't venture too far outside of this thread unless I need to....for science or research or something. Lol. And every time I come back to this thread with my tail between my legs and grateful I have you guys. So occasionally, I picture the DEVs wondering around the threads and finally thinking "Ok...enough of this madness, I'm going to lurk in the Cullen Thread for awhile." Lol.

OH! I'm pretty excited. I was hoping elves would get a bit more spotlight.

The world of Thedas is going to hell in a hand basket and our inquisitor has to find out why. Gah, I can't wait til this game comes out. AHHH! lol

You know, I kind of wish that there had been a way to go to Ser Jory's wife and tell her what had happened, or been some way to honor Daveth, since they both died in the Joining. Although Daveth was brave and took it like a man, and Jory was a bit of a coward... Still, they deserved something more.

There's a thread on the Inquisition forum that made it to 16 pages in 3 hours. "No Romance in DAI". They were talking about taking the romance out of the game itself and putting into DLC packs, one for each companion. Because people would purchase them, it was insinuated that it allow for more romantic content for the game.

So say DAI went this route, and had no romance. One of our companions is Cullen. You can become friends with him, or rivals, but the romance option is completely out. Until you buy a DLC pack. Suddenly he has flirty lines and all that good stuff that we come to expect from Bioware romances. Even more content on the sex scenes, if you're into that.

What do you guys think of that possibility idea?

I wouldn't be at all upset if they did, I would gladly pay extra to have more choices (although I would feel incredibly dirty), but I doubt it makes business sense.

6 more romances, larger ones at that, most of which probably won't be bought by anyone at all. That's an aweful lot of weight for the popular ones to pull. Most people don't buy DLC at all.

Oh, and I would buy one. Maaaaybe two (if it's like, Cullen and GW, but I doubt they would have two human males). And I'm one of probably few people who are positive to the idea.

The information regarding the way they want to take romances is confusing (one dev says they want to do less, the other says they want to expand on it), but taking it away as a whole? Na, I doubt they would do that. Surely not for DA:I.

And yeah, I really like this threat for the amount of civilized people :D I come back here every time after I dared to venture to the inquisition thread, lol. I surely don't see why people keep fussing about things other people like. As far as I know most things are *optional* anyway, so yeah... immature fussing... Some people scare me anyway, like the 'I always kill Isabella, so she cannot hook up with 'my Fenris', even if I don't romance him'-crowd... like, whot?! Well ok, I might kick a companions but if he/she would try to hook up with Cullen... especially if he would not be a LI... XD

Interesting quote Chanda. I would like to see the elves having more impact than being nice scenery.

Yeah, they have been an established faction for some time now (marked out on the war map), but I'm excited to see what they're up to. I wonder... If the elves and the mages joined forces (which would make perfect sense), focusing on guerilla warfare, they would be nigh impossible to resist. Image IPB

Jory had a young wife and a new babe to worry about, I don't think he was a coward at all. He just had no idea what he was getting himself into, and once he learned the truth he was outnumbered and outmatched but still he tried to get back to them.

My warden was more of a coward, horrified about giving up her whole life and still just going along with it.

Or, you know... That's my take on it. Image IPB

Didn't DG say that the romance content would be similar in size as what they've done before..?

Ha, many people scare me! I think it has to do with not being accountable for anything you say, people come online to go crazy and let their hair down (after all, these are the same people who play GTA Image IPB).

Jory seemed like someone who didn't really think things through. When he was competing in the tournement in Highever to be win the possibility of becoming a Warden, did he not think about the consequences? He probably didn't think he was going to die, but come on. If you have a baby on the way with your wife, are you really going to put yourself up in a position where you have to leave them for whoever knows how long, with the possibility of dying to a darkspawn horde? And if you're willing to do that, how come you're not willing to drink a little darkspawn blood? He had the choice of competing to become a Warden, and he won his tournement. He could have chosen to not compete, and be able to stay home with his wife and baby.

Sorry... I'm tired and making typos all over the place. And being pregnant right now, if my husband did that to me, what Jory did to his wife (leaving them when he didn't have to, to become someone who fights tainted creatures, glory or no glory) I'd be super pissed at him, lol.

LOL! Sometimes the formatting on this site is driving me crazy, and everytime I try to fix it I just bury myself deeper. Image IPB

Well, he was already putting himself in harms way for a living. My guess is that Jory was a knight (i.e. a soldier) and so that was what he did to support his family. Being a Gray Warden (i.e. the elite soldiers) when there was no blight going on must have seemed like a pretty sweet deal. In fact, that would probably have been the safest place for a warrior to be, and well woth fighting for if you valued your life.

Horrible timing, Jory. Image IPB

Oh, wait! Maybe it is Iron Bull then? When I saw it on Tumblr someone tagged it as a Qunari Inquisitor, lol.
