With a sigh, Cullen continued down the road towards Orlais.  Considering the mess he was leaving behind back in Kirkwall, he was glad that he was getting a new assignment in Orlais.  Can't wait to give my report to the Divine and take a break, Cullen thought as he continued his moderate pace down the road, keeping his defenses up should any blood mage decide to attack him.
"-knew we shouldn't have taken that last break, my boy."
"Enchantment!"
Cullen stopped, he thought he heard those voices before.  Perhaps they are leaving for Orlais as well?  After mulling over it for a while, Cullen thought he should investigate.  As he continued down the road, he first noticed a wagon full of possessions, ignoring the contents of the wagon he continued along the side of the wagon to where the voices came from.  Reaching the front of the wagon with a raised eyebrow he recognized the two dwarves almost immediatly to be that of Bodahn Feddic and his son, Sandal.

Gah I love that! I totally read their lines in their voices as well! <3

Thanks!  I was as well, to be honest.  I always thought that Cullen and Bodahn knew each other from when the Warden went to the Circle of Fereldan and also when Bodahn went back to the circle with Sandal.

Easter egg is my word [edit: well... technically two words... :)  ]. I think he said something like being a bit punch drunk when he wrote that...

You can see what he said here. Altho, looking again, I guess it does also say: "What do I know about where we're going with the franchise that I can be really vague about?"  So maybe it means more than I think.

Makes you wonder exactly what they've got planned, doesn't it. Whatever Sandals prophecy is about includes magic, so I wonder if perhaps things will start to happen in DA3 that will lead up to it... unless his prophecy is supposed to happen in DA3? I mean, the veil is bound to break sooner or later, especially with the increase in magic use now that all the Circles have been abandoned.

Thank you for that link. I can't believe there was a DA Con here in the UK and I didn't know about it!! I hope they have another one next year so I can do. :pinched:

My pleasure! That particular interview  has ALL sorts of juicy stuff in it! (at least from my perspective... it touches on almost all the lore things I find interesting ... Cullen, Seeker/Templar hierarchy, lyrium, Cullen...)

You know... I can help but chuckle a little at  veil tearing thing since... it seems to tear all the damn time. It's like every third or fourth quest we do has some veil breakage! LOL But then... a full scale break would be interesting. I can't help but think that this sort of thing is also hinted at in the SIlent Grove comic.

Yeah, it would have to be a huge tear, one that completely rips open and sends all the demons pouring out lol. I wonder if Corypheus could actually play a part in that, maybe in trying to return to the Golden City/Black City? Or in trying to awaken other ancient Magisters?

I haven't read the Silent Grove comics, what's mentioned that hints at it?

Well, I dunno how spoilery it is... but **spoilers*** just in case....

....

The witch is babbling in the usually witchy and cryptic way, and she talks about "a time when dragons rules the skies. A time before the Veil, before the mysteries were forgotten."

Of course it could be nonsense.  Or it could talk about a point in time when there was no Veil, when everything was one. The Chant of Light  hints at a time like this, IIRC. So... it intrigues me. Anyway, she seems interested in bringing about this dragony time again, which could suggest a second coming of this full scale break in the Veil.

As long as the game lets us travel to other places I have no problem with it being based in Orlais.

And as long as I don't have to be a seeker, I'm fine with it too.

As for companions, its going to be new and returning favorites so it could be anyone. Here are some of my theories on who we could see......

Wynne (Shes in Asunder)

Cullen (He could be a returning favorite)

Varric (Have a feeling we will see him again and he will also be the character that gives closure to Hawke's story)

Cassandra

Leliana

Fenyriel ( I think they will retcon him, and he might be in given his Dreaming ability)

Alistair (A longer cameo possibly since hes still popular)

Morrigan (Same reason as Alistair)

Teagan ( Did you know they had a quest in DA2 where you rescued Connor from the Circle for Teagan and they CUT IT?????) He has a following as well and his voice actor has done other characters.

I'm not sure who they'll have coming back in DA3, but here's who I'd like to come back (and in what capacity):

Cullen: As a companion/LI

Bodhan & Sandal: Hopefully working with our protagonist in the same way that they did in DA:O and DA2 by providing him/her with potion and enchantments etc

Teagan: Perhaps as an encounter/cameo who gives us a quest, alternatively I'd like to see him at one of the Orlesian masquerade balls with Isolde, during which he tells her to shut up because she's a pain in the arse LOL. Plus, I wouldn't mind flirting with him again, although he's not my type, he was rather charming.

Morrigan: For obvious reasons, I need to find out how the kid is getting on lol.

Feynriel:
I spared him so I'm hoping he'll pop up somewhere and can be of some use, especially if Cullen ever falls into a lyrium coma LOL!

Serendipity: Because she's awesome!

Varric: I'd say a cameo from him is a sure thing and he's awesome so any air time with him is alright with me lol.

Wade & Herren: Because they're fabulous!

It would also be kinda fun to run into Uncle Gamlen in one of the brothels... not sure how he could afford to go there, but it'd be hilarious to walk in on him trying to get a free trial with one of the "young ladies." Other than that, we'll probably have a few cameo's from our DA2 companions and we'll undoubtedly run into Leliana again, as well as Cassandra (as a companion or major NPC.) I don't wanna see Alistair or Zev again, for one thing I'd be worried about what they'd look like this time round, but I'd also be concerned that the romance flags would go ****** up again or that one of them would get killed off etc.

I'm kinda worried about what the God baby will have to do with the plot. It really sucks that the only way for my female mage Warden and Alistair to stay together was for Ali to go through with the Ritual. And knowing Alistair, he would want to know about his child, since it's highly likely that he and my Warden will have none. (Not that that's stopped my fanfiction...)

Is it just me, or does Bioware seem to like including infertility as a point of drama?

Probably won't have much to do with the DA3 plot, but I wouldn't be surprise if he becomes important in future DA games, maybe they'll come up with a way for Morrigan to have an OGB regardless, like perhaps she manages to trap the soul of one some other way if you didn't perform the Dark Ritual... but that's something the DA team are gonna have to come up with if/when the time comes. I think if we see Morrigan in DA3 she'll just make a passing reference to the kid if it was done in DA:O.

I'd never given much thought to Bioware using it as a means to create drama, I guess it's a possibility? Either way, I wouldn't want any of my protagonists having kids anyway, so it works fine for me LOL!

I want them to have the opportunity to have a family, like in an epilogue after the big events in DA3. Call me a sappy romantic, but I feel it's what they deserve after all the crap they went through. I mean, we all know that that's one thing Cullen wanted (with F!Amell/Surana).

I dunno, he wasn't specific about what he wanted, beyond actually wanting her lol. I think that's the sort of thing Bioware like to keep purposely obscure so that it's open to interpretation and we can head canon whatever we want from it.

For example, if Cullen is a companion/LI in DA3 and they manage to stay together without something cruel tearing them apart, if I had a bunch of options regarding what he and the protagonist decide to do with their future (like the Warden had in DA:O), I'd have them go off traveling for a few years, in order to give Cullen the chance to experience life outside of the Chantries rules and relax a little.

Ok new question (I'm gonna refer to the protagonist as female to make things easier.)

If Cullen is a love interest in DA3 and you play as a Mage protagonist, do you think he'd feel nervous around her, especially due to his PTSD. Also, once he grew to trust her as a person/lover do you think he'd try to discourage her from using magic, through worry that she might get taken from him or harmed by those who are anti-mage?
