I know most of us here have played Skyrim. Just wondering, what race do you usually roll, male or female, and do you do the marriage thing? And which house do you choose to put your spouse in? Oh, and who do you marry, and why that particular NPC?
Normally I play as a Nord female. But this time I wanted to try something different. With ESO right around the corner, a lot of lore on the races have come out, and the Wood Elves seemed really interesting to me. For example, I didn't know about the Green Pact, where they only eat meat. And I also didn't know that they ate their enemies. Freaky! So I decided to try playing as a female Wood Elf, and stick to the lore as much as possible. This includes only eating meat, eating my enemies after I kill them (I had to do Namira's quest to get that ability), and using a bow for most of my fighting style and sticking with light armor. One of the issues I had, though, is that I wanted to get married, and there aren't any Wood Elves that you can marry! I didn't want to mod it in. So I decided I liked Moth Gro-Bagol (Markarth's royal smith) and married him, and he lives in my house in Whiterun. I think a Wood Elf and an Orc make a good pair. And he's kind of cute, for an Orc.
I tried to go the Orc stronghold route by making a female Orc, but I can't bring myself to play her. She's just too ugly! Plus all the "Malacath this" and "Malacath that" was really getting on my nerves.
Anyway, what do you guys do?

Omg, if you guys are looking for a game to play whilst you wait for DAI, I highly recommend The Wolf Among Us.
I'll be putting up the first part of my Let's Play of it sometime within the next few hours/tomorrow. It's ****ing amazing!
Ooh, never heard of that before but I might check it out. Just finally finished Saints Row IV so I'm in need of a good DA:I distraction

Whats it about? And does it come on a pc as well?
It's made by the same people that done The Walking Dead game, it also comes out in chapters monthly. Today's was the first chapter. It's about fairy tale characters who have to live in the real world now (it's based on a comic series). We get to play as the big bad wolf (who is a total babe!) He's basically the Sheriff, it seems that he's trying to be good after all the ****ty stuff he used to do back in the fairy tale land when he was younger lol.
oh cool i loved the walking dead games but TWD i got it on my tabled so i will check steam out and see if i can get it , how often do the episodes come out?
Once a month from the looks of it.

When playing as my Bosmer, I always ignore the Green Pact. Most don't relish the cannibalising and it seems to only be for Valenwood anyway. I headcanon my elf was born in Skyrim so you know. Also Daedra worship! I do that a lot! Aedra are so boring, and they can't even decide what they want to be called! I still say the Nine from my Morrowind and Oblivion days, despite agreeing with the Thalmor about Tiber Septim.

I have a Nord gal I named Brynhildr Fireman, a Wood Elf named Theron Nightvale, and a Breton named Zoe Copperhart. I love my Nord gal, but I've moved onto my Wood Elf because her race is SOOOOOO interesting. I read up on them so I could role play. I did just as you: only eat meat, did the task for Namira so I could get the ring, use only a bow but I have built up my swords as well, and I'm thinking of becoming a Companion so she can become a werewolf to hunt for all eternity.
My Nord, Brynhildr, started off as a Thief and became a Nightingale mostly to run away from her Dragonborn self. But then she began to see the chaos laid upon the land, and took up the mantel. She went to the Companions to prepare, traded in her daggers for a two-handed sword, and then became their leader. She's also the leader of the Dawnguard. Busy lady!
Then I have a Breton named Zoe Copperhart. She's...not right in the head. Enjoys killing a bit too much. She was running from trouble back home, and went to the Dark Brotherhood to hide her. She's a battlemage who favors daggers.
I haven't played Skyrim in a while, but those are my three characters. I have an idea for a male Khajiit.
And I could never make an orc, either.
I'd really like Theron to marry and male Altmer, but there aren't any available. Bryn is going to marry Vilkus - yay! And Zoe...Zoe's going to stay away from marriage. She'd kill her spouse within the hour.

I have a Nord female and a Breton female. My nord is married to Marcurio and my Breton is married to Brelyna Maryon from the college. I always live in the Riften house because it's my favorite.

Literally, I can't take Farkas anywhere now because he either attracks her or gets stuck in a loop of saying "yes dear" and bringing up the follower option menu, LOL. Beyond that I haven't played it since after completing the main story because it bored the sh!t out of me.

I played as a female Nord, she married Farkas... then regretted it because he has all the personality of a wet turnip, their relationship is... fiery (who'd have thought you can't just kill him off, I knew she should've married his brother!). Serves me right for picking the prettiest one! They live in Whiterun... but she kinda killed off almost the entire village, so whenever she returns everyone attacks her (including Farkas).

I think if Bethesda would invest more time into their NPC companions, giving them actual personalities and proper dialogue conversations, they'd have a pretty awesome game. But, that's Bioware's niche, so... Can't really compare apples to oranges.
For some reason, Oblivion's quests were more fulfilling than Skyrim's. Skyrim was more interesting visually, but Oblivion's quests seemed to be more... Diverse? Maybe because a lot of Skyrim's quests seem like, "Go to this dungeon/ruin/cave, retrieve this item, bring it back, get reward." Where Oblivion's quests were like... So diverse that I can't really name off one to show how divers they were. The Daedric quests were really interesting. Making it rain dogs in that one village, or making everyone at the royal dinner party go nude, lol.

Yeah! And I loved the Dark Brotherhood storyline. The Skyrim one...it just seemed like they didn't understand why people liked Oblivion's. They just tried to go for the 'epicness'. Really wish developers would stop trying to make their games 'epic'. Epicness should be stumbled on to, or it just falls flat on its face.

Oh just finished the first episode of the Wolf Among Us. Such a cute little game. Really ought to stop trying to romance characters in Telltale games, mind.
With out spoiling anything, did the thing that happened at the end shock you? I'm wondering if I cocked something up.
