MissRedZelda - I love Chic-fil-A but now there's the big push to boycott them due to thier anti-gay issues. I might have to break up with them for solidarity.

I've discovered that one Chic-fil-A is not equal to another. While the head of the organization would absolutely loathe me, the Chic-fil-A folks here are exceedingly nice, perky and non-judgmental. There's no way I can boycott them (especially when they have banana pudding milkshakes -- out of season until next year now :crying:).

The people at a Chic-fil-A two hours from here on the way to Memphis, TN seem to hate their job and everyone they meet. I've already been boycotting them.

As for donuts and the stereotype that sometimes follows them, would Cullen be considered a kind of cop? He seems to pull a L.A. Noire thingy with that possessed Templar IMHO.

Hahaha! "Come with me to the Blooming Rose and I'll show ya, big boy!" (Sounds like it could be a very expensive trick to turn.)

Outstanding... could that be his secret vice?? The Kirkwall equivalent of the Krispy Kreme, Andraste's Grace. Apparently, Varric actually owns the shop that bakes them.  B):police:

I used to live close to Memphis in Mississippi. Not that anyone needs to know that.... lol

I never considered the fact that Cullen is law enforcement and therefore genetically pre-disposed to a donut fetish. Kudos to you!

Fun fact: I used to date an NYPD cop. When I got mad I used to make him go to Dunkin Donuts in uniform to get donuts as punishment. He hated it sooooo much. Image IPB

I think if you want to see Cullen glisten, tauntaun guts might not be the best option.

So someone (possibly Thats1evildude) tweet Gaider saying:

"A few of us at BSN have decided that Cullen likes donuts even though he's not a direct equivalent to a cop."

To which DG replied:

"With that body? I highly doubt it. :)"

Sometimes I swear I could marry that man LOL!

LMAO.  I don't know what's cooler... that we got DG thinking about Cullen... or DG got me thinking about Cullen's body. :P

And... in honor of that...

"It's not my fault I'm the biggest and the strongest... I don't even exercise."

I just had a disturbing image of Cullen pulling the ol' binge and purge after gorging on a bakers dozen in a quiet corner of the guard house.

OK, so here's an actual question as I drag my brain back out of the gutter. The "is Cullen like a cop" idea is one I've wondered about before. Are the templars more like the cops or the military?

I was watching a show last fall (Terra Nova, RIP) which features an isolated colony that is run by the military and has just recruited its first cop. At one point the head military dude, who is also their mayor, makes the distinction to the cop, “You’re the lawman, I’m just a soldier.” It reminded me of a quote from Battlestar Galactica, where Commander Adama, in a similarly isolated and military-run colony, says, "There's a reason we separate military and the police: one fights the enemy of the state, the other serves and protects the people. When the military becomes both, then the enemies of the state tend to become the people."

So, where do you think the templars fall on this spectrum? Is Cullen more like a lawman or a soldier?

I'm thinking he's definately military. The city guards are the cops, there to arrest people for stealing your crap and stopping fights. The Templars have more of a "divine mission", if you will. They'll stop a crime if they see it, but thier main purpose is more of a world wide keep the peace with the mages and all.

Edit for typing in the dark and bad spelling! lol

Well, I recall Cullen (or someone) mentioning during DA2 that the Templars also serve as an army, so maybe they are kinda like soldiers? I always thought of the City Guard to be the equivalent of a police force.

Unless the Templars are kinda like the equivalent of Mulder & Skully, dealing with magic and "other worldly" incidences lol. Let's not forget the blind Templar who was investigating paranormal events in the Alienage, I guess they do more than just fight abominations and watch over mages.
