I'm guessing it'll probably be pretty quiet in here until they give us more info at some point in the new year.

As for spoilers, I will definitely have to black out this thread
I kind of hope they don't reveal who the companions and LI are so I will be surprised
Yeah it's dead in here... not much to talk about.

As for spoilers, I will definitely have to black out this threadI will only probably be able to play the game in spurts as I'll likely be working when it comes out. Wish it would come out during xmas break, but that's too much to hope for.
I kind of hope they don't reveal who the companions and LI are so I will be surprisedThough I do hope they confirm that all LI are bi so my mind will be eased as I play the game. It's a small thing, but it matters.

It's funny, they showed us so much but very little of it was really anything that could be use for speculation purposes. I guess we'd only really get that with story info, but that would be too spoilery.

Not surprising, as I think they're most interested in getting out the word about gameplay and graphics. Which is what I think the trailers, articles, and talks mostly emphasized.

Oh (last post I promise!) R2 mentioned Weidzman (apologies if I misspelled his name!); if I recall correctly, he was interviewing the composer who did the trailer. That was the scoop he had. I don't know if that really had anything to do with who the game's main composer would be.
That's right, the composer for the DAI: Fires Above trailer let slip that it was some dude (I've forgotten the name, but he done the musical score for The Tudors). It wasn't Ion Zur though.

Why now? Could they be adding an extra companion...or do you think it's more likely that writing duties for this character got shuffled around? (something related that that 14-hour workday with 4-hour meeting, maybe?)
I'm so bored. I really need some good info. I watched the whole gameplay demo again last night and now I want it sooo bad. But I guess I'll just try to get though this DA2 playthrough instead.

So I was wondering...If all of the companions had been nailed down months ago, why is DG just now writing his second companion? I got the impression that he did all the writing for this one very quickly.

The only thing I can think of is because they extended the release date to 2014, that they are adding in dialogue and other content that may have not been necessarcy at the time, but now prevelant to what bits and bobs they are adding in. Such as the races, it could be that there are new dialogue trees for certain races, and as such the companions needed new lines that reacted accordingly to the player's race and situation.

... Good point, I hadn't even considered that. Hm, I guess either it's extra content/dialogue for an existing companion, or they've given us an extra one? Hm, it's certainly something to ponder.

I was expecting them to do something like the companion profiles online, like they did for DA2. So I guess Id be surprised if they kept them all secret until the game ships. But am I remembering that correctly? That they had all the companion profiles up before DA2 came out.littlenikki wrote...
Do you think they are going to tell us who all the companions are, or try to keep it secret? It'd be interesting if they didn't announce anything officially until the game came out, but since they already told us about Varric, Cass, and Vivienne it seems like they are just going to be letting us know periodically.
Yes, they did

I hope whoever does the music for DAI (if it isn't Ion Zur) will still use a little of that signature DAI sound that we've come to expect from the games.
Gotta say, so far my fav DA tracks are Fenris's theme and The Grey Wardens theme
I really liked The Destiny of Love, Fenris' theme, Calenhad Docks theme and a couple of others.
I love both versions of this song.

yeah, that's about my own approach: playing it by ear. I already come straight here and skip the main BSN forums, so I'll probably go into main forum absolute blackout at some point. Not sure yet what I'll do about the Cullen thread and tumblr. I'm finding that everyone has a different personal definition of what's a spoiler for them, so it's impossible to adopt a blanket policy of what to talk about that isn't spoilery. I'm normally a spoiler positive person, but I don't really want to know, say, the ending of the game. I already know more about DAI than I ever knew about DA2 beforehand, since I wasn't a forumite then. Once it comes out, I'll definitely go into blackout on all platforms until I've finished it. Before that? Hmm, honestly I'll probably do nothing different until I run into a spoiler that spoils me... Then I'll pull back. LOLLolaLei wrote...
I'm gonna play it by ear and see exactly how tight lipped and careful the devs are this time around. I'll definitely go into black out when you guys get DAI though, because I won't recieve mine until a few days later, lol.littlenikki wrote...
Anyone planning to do a BSN blackout when it gets closer to release. I usually try to stay away once the demo comes out, since that's when it seems like the most spoilers are getting thrown around (in thread titles too, so you don't even have to go in a thread) Worse comes to worse I'll just bookmark this thread to avoid looking at the DA3 forums completely
I usually do the same. Sometimes, I'll play most of the game, then if I really don't care about the spoiler 'ending' then I'll go back into the forums, but try to avoid anything that would spoil things for me. It's touch and go lol

Also possible, that they knew what characters they wanted in the game, but didn't have their stories and/or dialogue done. They could have also been looking for VO's for new companions and didn't bother doing much for them until they saw more potential.

The fact that he said "follower" and not just "character" reveals a lot. I guess perhaps it could just mean that he's finally finished all the dialogue for him/her, rather than it being a completely new character he'd just stormed through. I just presumed that they had already completed all the content for the companions now in terms of script.

It wouldn't be the devs that reveal big spoilers like that, it'll be fans digging through files in the demo(s) or someone leaking something etc.
