Cullen, if he is a companion and romanceable, might have a bit of competition if Mr. Weekes is writing a male romanceable character. Love that man's writing.

I actually thought the cloaked dude in the tavern was supposed to be the Inquisitor, but he is also a little similar to the elf (moreso the long-faced Nosferatu one, IMO, but I'm still hopeful he's not the same as Chill). Too many interpretations! Can't wait til they start to connect the dots for us.Mahumia wrote...
As far as I can guess, the cloaked dude with pipe in the tavern scene and the chill elf dude from the map stabbing appear to be the same figure. I thought that one to be Dorian, but I guess we'll see. At least he does appear interesting to me: laid back, a person with much knowledge, perhaps bit of a philosopher. Somehow I think he can take up a bit of an advising role.

In some of her verbiage she talks about making her boyfriend do the fittings. Dunno who will ultimately wear it, tho. Haven't read the whole thing yet.LolaLei wrote...

That's an xbox bug... I got that a couple times. It's super annoying because you have to fight Meredith again afterward LOL

Digiexpo 2013 - Dragon Age: Inquisition Gameplay
Cool, thanks!
I've watched this sequence several times, and just now I've watched up until the cave fight with the spiky red... thing. My thoughts...
Normally I don't care about gameplay, but unfortunately playing Dragon's Dogma spoiled me, and I now know what great RPG gameplay is. That said...
The speed looks good. The sound is great.
The monster looks silly.
The animations are silly. The flashes of light and the sparkles and what not. It's silly. I'd prefer something more realistic, but that's just a personal preference and being spoiled by DD's awesomeness.
The DA team seems to favor slightly over the top animation, which I suppose they are making their style? It looks very pretty, and they do a good job. I think it's just not for me. But whatevs, I can live with any manner of gameplay so long as the companions are awesome.
Varric, don't care about, Cass, don't care about, Vivienne, has sparked nothing in me LOL I feel bad for them because with me, they just happened to strike out three times. I'm sure those three characters please a lot of people. Me, I'll just wait and see who else gets revealed

But being a Blood Mage in 2 was a bit much...stabbing yourself with the staff like that?
Anders: Hawke, are you okay?!
Hawke: Yeah. I'm fine. Why?
Varric: For starters, you have a giant gaping hole in your stomach.

The surroundings seemed very dark in the video, up to the point where it was hard to see a thing. So hoping it will be less like that in the actual game (and this was just due to lightning in the room), as I can't really stand it if I cannot see what is happening around me XD
The animations are indeed over the top, but for DA:2 it isn't bothering me either, so guess it will be the same for inquisition.
The companions are hardly given any screentime and apart from some banter they don't give any input either, so hard to get an impression of them yet. I'll just wait and see till we get to see more of them before making up my opinion about them.

Yeah I like the over the top animations. It makes sense. Dragon's Dogma, which I actually didn't enjoy, isn't like or supposed to be like Dragon Age. DD is an action RPG, while DA wants to be more of a tactical RPG. It's that whole spiritual successor to Baldur's Gate thingy, remember? The OTT stuff just makes it more interesting to look at I suppose.

Combat animations and the like, don't really bother me. So long as it does the job and I don't have to face waves and waves of enemies in place of storyline (like in DA2) then I don't really mind.
