My sincere hope is if Cullen is in DA:III, he left the Templars or is part of a Templar group that remains neutral or they're fighting against teh Chantry due to being lied to.

I would hate to see him turn into a Templar Zombie like this guy....

So I found a post from David Gaider in the "Exalted March cancelled" rant thread saying:

"Whatever future story comes to be, it will treat the end of DA2 (and the DLC's) as the jumping-off point... not the end of the cancelled expansion."

Seems like they're going to pick up on the DA3 story where DA2 left off, which to sounds like it will take place immediately after, or a few short years after Hawke defeated Meredith etc.

Okay...theory is that Varric will be in DA:3 and will explain what happened to Hawke and it will be based on our choices

Ladies! They've put up July's question of the month. Bit of a boring one, but it sounds like they're gonna be giving us a few more details about DA3 soon:

Yeah that's what I think will happen too. Although there's a high possibility that Hawke could show up in DA3 if the characters models art style is going to be the same/similar to DA2's, it wouldn't be too hard to have him cameo since he only has 3 personality types to choose from lol.

So was Samson older than Cullen?

I would have liked to have more of an explanation on what happened to Samson and why he hated Meredith.

And how is it that Samson is so addicted while Cullen looks normal?

I would love to see Hawke or femhawke. I always thought it would be awesome if Hawke was the one saving your character's butt in the beginning of DA:III.  He or she can can have some words of wisdom for the new character before departing. :)

I'd love to see Hawke in passing during a cutscene, like he/she acidentally bumps into each our protagonist whilst crossing each others paths in a busy street, the pair look back at each other for a slowed split second, then Hawke disappears into the crowd, as our protagonist snaps back to attention. There would be no talking or anything, but it would serve as a nod to the player that Hawke is ok. Maybe his/her LI from DA2 could be with them so that we know they're still together or something.

It's never specified but he looks, sounds and behaves a lot older than Cullen and kinda hints that he'd been serving in the Templar order for years before he quit. That being said, he has the dark circles around his eyes that Cullen also has. Maybe that's due to prolonged lyrium use or something?

I like to think that the reason Cullen has the dark circles is because he only takes Lyrium when his body is literally screaming out in pain for it, perhaps in an attempt to keep the permanent side effects at bay for as long as possible. Samson had tried initally to ween himself off lyrium but failed (I think?) and it seemed as though he wasn't getting a regular fix, so maybe that's why his dark circles were even worse than Cullen's?

Ah, yawn! And, I thought the last one was boring.... I literally have zero opinion on this one. Boo. But, yes, maybe it does bode well for an "announcement."

My understanding was that Samson got kicked out for helping the mages, right? So, his supply of lyrium got cut off, and he probably only gets it periodically now. It makes sense to me that he's feeling the withdrawal effects, which start after a week of no lyrium. I agree I don't think he seems that old, so I would highly doubt he's into the age-induced phase ... which seems to be dimentia anyway, based on that Denerim templar, not withdrawal symptoms.

I thought he quit the Templars? Because he said that the Order let's you quit anytime you want with no repercussions, but the lyrium withdrawal is the real punishment which is why so many go crawling back to the Order after a few weeks.

Yeah I was disappointed by this months question too. Last month they said that if we weren't interested in the whole merch thing then July's question would be more to our tastes... Which it's not, well, I personally don't find it particularly interesting lol. I was hoping for more lore/character/concept question threads, although it sounds like they've got all that covered already.

It's also possible that the devs use dark circles to indicate "suffering" of multiple types... (like PTSD, for example). I could see that direction to the graphics folks being vague in the same way that somehow "clean cut" = "good looking." Something like, "show he has suffered, but leave him 'clean cut.'"  :D

Anyway, I don't know that it always has to indicate lyrium effects. Meredith ostensibly has been on the junk longer and only has crows feet, not the dark circles. Whereas Samson is unique because he clearly  is in withdrawal due to his supply being interrupted; he even says one of his reasons for wanting to rejoin the templars is to get access to lyrium again.

Apparently he claims he chose to leave, but later admits that he actually got busted for passing notes between a mage and his lover.

Ugh. Yup. ^This. Oh well. :( At least they want to engage us in... something. Still cool. Even if I won't be chiming in this time. My answer to where do I want them to announce something is "on the internet" where I'll hear it first anyway. LOL

LOL seriously? I must have missed that line! Bless him, oooo I wonder if it was the Elven couple in the gallows, where his girlfriend has been made tranquil? Poor things.

Y'know I never thought of those dark circles attributing physical signs of suffering before, you're probably right! Thinking about it, a lot of artists etc will give characters or actors dark bags/circles under their eyes when they're depressed, stressed, over worked, tired, ill or have had a hard life/suffering. I took a closer look and all the Templars in the Gallows seem to have it to lesser extents, Thrask and the female Templar recruit seem to have them the least, so maybe it's due to different levels of stress? I wonder if regular NPC's like Gamlen have them? I'll check.

Yeah, I only replied because it asked us what sort of stuff we'd like to hear about, like playable demos, DA panels etc. I figure, since they're asking us then they must be pretty close to having some physical early first draft footage and/or concept art to show us, or at the very least be willing to give away a little more detail about the game.

I reckon they're going to announce something at one of the big events coming up.

Yeah, I don't remember exactly when Samson says that, but the wiki has it too. I figure that's how he get into the mage shuttling biz.

On the circles, yeah, I dunno, I suppose Ser Alrik has them a little, Meredith, Thrask, Emeric (!) not so much. None of them seem as pronounced as Cullen's.

Eeew, Quentin has them! Gamlen just seems to have wrinkles.

LOL just noticed that the Malcolm Hawke wiki page has a picture of him as the random blue shadow with just the two lights for eyes from Legacy. LMAO That reminds me of when starwars.com first put up the databank page on Bail Organa, before Jimmy Smits was cast, and they put a pic of Alderaan blowing up. LOL

LOL that's hilarious! I bet he looked just like default male Hawke, but older.

I'd say Samson's dark circles look worse than Cullen's... But that could be because he's not as attractive lol. Ooo you're right, Quentin has them too! Mind you, I bet he was chugging down bottles of lyrium like it was going out of fashion, in order to perform the type of magic ritual he'd been doing!

So this is what I found from DG in one of the ranty threads:

"Yes, a black-out period such as this can be a frustrating time if you're waiting for information. We can't go into detail regarding unannounced projects (regardless of how much people think they already know about them)... and, quite frankly, it wouldn't be a good idea at this point. You might say "well tell me just a little bit!" ...but we all know how this works, don't we?

Anything we say, if not comprehensive, will only engender misinterpretations and speculations galore, along with questions and demands for explanations and then questions about those explanations and then people reacting to speculation as if it's the truth and demanding we prove it's not and how dare we not spend our time assuaging their concerns... the list really goes on. So when we say we intend to wait until we're both able to talk and until we're able to show what we're talking about, we mean it. And that's really for the best, especially for the DA franchise, even if we feel for those who are keen to know more.

Insofar as the forums go, a black-out period is expected to be dead. There's nothing new to discuss, after all, so only the old issues get rehashed. And, yes, I imagine it gets tiring to see all those old arguments trotted out by the same dozen posters time after time in multiple threads with different titles. I'm not sure if those posters think we can't tell that they're the same people, or it just doesn't matter to them and they feel compelled to make sure their opinion is heard in every possible venue just in case someone hasn't been bludgeoned with it yet, but either way it's not unexpected-- once there's new stuff to reveal, you'll have people appearing once again. Never fear.

The cycle shall continue."

Seems reasonable enough to me. I wonder how long black out periods last in general? I've never been part of a game related forum before this one so I'm completely in the dark with this one lol.

I'm with ya... too busy being 'mom' to go to any events so unless DG is coming to my house for coffee and a chat, I'm afraid it'll be internet updates for me as well.
