Am I the only PC gamer who quails a little that every pic of a dev gaming is using a controller...? If I have to use a controller I may lose my mind with frustration. :crying:

You're not alone. I won't be able to play if a controller is necessary. I realize I'm a minority and it's embarassing, but I just physically can't do it.

Oh, I've seen boys being chased in the schoolyard. :D It's a good thing this is a single player game. I can just imagine a horde of us chasing after Cullen screaming: "LET ME LOVE YOU!!"

That would be the best thing ever. A great bonding experience. :P

I do that too. Definitely over attached girlfriend. But I obsess over anything and everything irl, so it's a bit less weird for me to do this sort of thing.

On my second playthrough, my Qun!Qusitor will be a bit more... "straightforward" with her advances, possibly to the point where she scares the living hell out of Cullen. It'll be like little kids chasing each other in the school yard, except that it's the man that's running away, and he's running away from a giant horned woman who's screaming "LET ME LOVE YOU!" at the top of her lungs.

Very scary.

Haha! It's funny, my second character will be a qunari, but, (assuming the elven rogue Inquisitor is a City Elf), my qunari character will be MUCH more shy when it comes to that sort of thing and my elf main will be crazy..."straightforward" one!:D

My boring old human Fem!Quisitor will be shy at first, but then she'll turn into the creepy overly attached girlfriend type.

Cullen will never leave her. EVER.

I'm the exact opposite. I'm really bad at typing (which is weird since I'm always on the computer) and I wouldn't be able to play a PC game to save my life. :( It's sad because I really want to play Inquisition on the PC to fully experience the amazing graphics, but, sadly, I'm stuck with my 360 for now.

I don't think we have to worry. So long as there is money to be made by releasing in all platforms, the game will be available to all platforms....

Yep well said ^_^ also I think they have mentioned  at PAX/ forums/twitter that the controller for the PC is optional so there is nothing to worry about

Oh I know they're releasing it on multiple platforms and that you won't be forced to use  a controller... but seeing them START with the controller keeps suggesting to me that that's how it's optimized. For consoles, not for PCs, which could spell dire things for the keyboard users. It's a slightly irrational fear, but I did have such an experience with Tomb Raider, for example.

Oh I see what you mean now, but then again wasnt DA2  "optimised" more for consoles then PC as well? Atleast thats what Ive heard, but over all  the the keyboard movements/controles  was pretty good regardles, plus with the isometric camera back i think its gonna feel more like DAO witch to me its a good thing

Yeah, like I said, slightly irrational! :D It'll probably be fine, and I think I even remember them saying something explicit about giving specific attention to the controls for each platform. It just sometimes feels like PC gamers are going the way of the dinosaur, so seeing *every* dev with a controller in his or her hand makes  me twitchy. :?

LOL yea sometimes I kinda feel the same way.... everytime I go to the games sections on post there are lesser and lesser games on the PC then there are for consoles witch is very very sad... I think a lot of ppl still play games on PC's  so idk  why most of gaming companios decided to walk away from that... for example I like the GTA games and I was soo dissapointed when it was only on consoles  I just watched my husband play it on the xbox it was soo annoying cause I wanted to play it on the PC, also  I wish Dragons Dogma was on Pc as well I've been watching some videos of it and it looks pretty cool

Although I'm wondering something if they are able to use a controller on a PC can it be used the other way around? Like have a keyboard and mouse on a console? I think that would be cool if that would be possible I would def play on a console LOL :P

Hmm, gosh, I dunno! The differences always seem to me to be a little deeper than just the actual controller, but that could be because the last time I played on console was my old PS2... and I sucked at it!  If the game design itself is basically the same, then I suppose anything is possible.

Huh, this is kind of interesting.

============
Name Removed: Could you please tell us how old will the Inquisitor be in Inquisition? Will he/she be early 20s like before or older and experienced?

@ Mike_Laidlaw: Some indeterminate age over 20 and under 40
===
While it's a vague answer, it suggests (to me) that you might be able to headcanon that you're any age in that range instead of every Inquisitor being some specifically young whippersnapper.

That or he was just being evasive, per usual :P

Sometimes I wish the Merrill thread was more active and that we had some kind of refuge akin to this one. Thankfully, I don't tire easily from my LI defense plan.

That was my thought

Though if he's serious, it makes me a little sad, as I love writing/playing teen characters.

This is really the only very active character thread left.

While we all love Cullen, we all also have our favorite DA:O/DA2 character, so no worries ^_^ And feel free to talk about Merrill, too... though I think we try not to diverge from the thread topic too much, lest we get shut down lol!

Do you think the Devs will give us any new information for Christmas? Maybe regarding the available companions that we don't know, yet? More info on Grey Warden guy, Sera, Iron Bull and others would be nice.

Especially if they are hoping to reveal the LI's on February 14th? That way it gives us time to speculate over who is an LI and who isn't, before they're revealed.

Hopefully Cullen will be on both lists.

I'm still kinda hoping for the VGA's maybe? Another teaser maybe with a female Qunari Inquisitor this time, since we haven't seen any qunari model yet. If not the VGA's I guess they could feel the Christmas spirit and show us something then. I don't expect more then a teaser trailer though, I don't think there will be anymore "big" news until later next year.

I am a fond pc gamer too. Tried console a few times, but I suck at hand/eye coordination when the buttons are too far apart from eachother (wasd is fine, but that is about it for me...)

And no worries if you want to talk about other characters too! I am a person with a sh!tload of pixel crushes, so feel free to share the love! lol

And ehm: Why is this worrying me?

" Mark Darrah@BioMarkDarrah:

I am headcanoning the inquisitor to be about 30-35, so he/she will be around the same age as the warden and Hawke are at that time.

Also: I hope that they will release more information about the companions before Christmas. I want a nicely wrapped up Cullen, with a ribbon!

On the one hand I do want new info... on the other hand, I still haven't finished my PAX Prime DAI video (currently working on it), so I'm hoping that if we do get any new info it won't be until December.
