I rival Fenris primarily because I don't actually think I can friend him, at least not fully. I get 20 rivalry just by talking to him after his recruitment and 15 more after the Gallows conversation, and that's just for starters. There just aren't enough slavers to fight to gain enough friendship points.

Yes you have to do some serious meta-gaming to get friendship with Fenris  Fortunately tis easier with the romance =]

Really? I have a much harder time being friends w/ Fenris when he is romanced by Hawke. I usually romance him w/ mage characters though, and find it hard to be pro-circle when I do so. Anytime I play a pro-templar character, they usually don't start supporting the templars until Act II, after they've seen some bad forms of magic and become more knowledgable of mages in general outside their own family.

According to what the abomination said, keep in mind.

Correct me if I'm wrong,  I know the keeper has taken the demon within her to protect Merril, but if the keeper wasn't strong enough she wouldn't have told Merril to stay away from the mirror, if the keeper wouldn't have taken the demon in her, dont you think it would have possesed Merril instead?

Marethari's the one who's been hanging around the demon for years on end, and quite frankly is more prideful than Merrill. I think Marethari was always the true target, and Audacity manipulated Merrill to drive the two of them apart.

That is actually a very good point. The first time I played DA2, and even though I was against rebuilding the Eluvian, Marethari entraping the demon within herself always seemed...I don't know. She had the audacity to take away Merrill's sacrifice. I think Marethari had good intentions, but Merrill goes through those ten years without her clan and mother figure supporting her. Not having your family behind you is a heartbreaking thing, even though what you are doing may not be the smartest.

I'm still not entirely sure about how I feel with this, but it has opened a new perspective. =]

I was a full templar supporter since Act 1 - the only rivalry I got was defending Bethany when Fenris called her a viper. (She's not a viper, she's a cow. Get your animals right, Fenris. :P ) Then I went about putting every mage back in the tower. Being friends with him was a nice change, and I felt like Fenris was a little calmer with someone on his side.

Wow!! That dress is, uh... a little on the ****ty side LOL I wish companies would make cute geek clothes for women that weren't ****ty. Even the t-shirts are usually low-necked >.<

Oh yeah I usually play as a rogue. And what I mean about romancing him is, you can get like 20+ the first time you talk to him, then points for sleeping with him, flirting with him, giving him gifts, etc. So long as you don't take him on mage quests like "Act of Mercy" he is actually pretty easy to friendmance. And just be clever, like for Feynriel's quest, let him kill the slaver, then send his cute butt home if you want to later send Feynriel to the Dalish :P (Although some of my pro-mage Hawke's actually sent him to the Circle, on account of his dreams alone.)

I think I prefer rivalmancing him as a mage, even if I could figure out the friendmance route. He's the only one that when I rival, I feel like doesn't actually hate Hawke while being able to disagree on things. Plus the whole angry sex angle is hawt ;)

Meh on the dress, but I'd buy the hell outta those leggings! Love me some leggings <3

Edit: Sh*t, $85?!? Not for no f*cking $85! That's stupid crazy

Edit x2: Damnit....now I really want those leggings. Goodbye Christmas money that I should be spending on something more reasonable

Hey now!

Sooo, we can't talk to companions everywhere? okay. But I hope we can still do the kissing thing whenever we want. Complete w/the kissy music in the background. I really liked being able to do that whenever I wanted. It's not talking. It's kissing.

Oh, Laidlaw! Plz don't let me down on this one!

We have dual wield warriors now? I thought they said no. It was too resource heavy?

Yay!

I really hope the rogue has that harpoon ability. I frikkin' love that shyte. Harpooning them, "Get over here!" The dual wield warrior could work for me, but I need to be able to open chests. It is excruciating for me to Not be able to open a chest. Esp. in an area I won't be getting back to. I must have that moth eaten scarf!

I love the Keep skins they have going on. And the inside of the Keeps looks and sounds very lively!

I wonder, tho, if we're still gonna have someplace to call our own? Truly our own, well us and our companions.

Ah, and artificer Dagna showed up in the demo thing. The specifications for the veil plugs done to the "specifications of Artificer Dagna". Squee!

Oh, well. I just can't stand the idea that it's been 3 hours since a post on the old Cullen thread.

Perhaps I will ramble until the night shift gets here. lol!

Hmmm....I need to read sum more before I ramble.

Ah, Seb/Bethany, David? Me say No! *makes squinty eyes in David's general direction* You can blame it on my female propensity for pettiness if you want to, but I feel what I feel. Lil bruja trying to move in on my thing. Well at least on that PT.

I mean, I liked BEthany and all...but Sister trying to move in your thing is a big no no. In fiction or irl.

Cole..eeee...if he is in it, I hope David gives me reason to actually at least kinda like him. Or rather kinda trust him. Cuz right now I'm just creeped out by him. I dont wanna have to "fix: him. Yes, Cole, join the living. Bah. No, Cole, shouldn't you be dead already?

But then I'm the mean, callous PC for not liking him. Hey, but ppl seem to be interested in him. So, you know..hey. Fine. Whatever. But I don't like that, I only feel/know I'm alive when I kill you. Ick!

Yet Sten did some horrendous stuff, and I ended up liking him. So if they do right, maybe? But at this point I am not interested in the serial killer. I have no sympathy for him whatsoever. He grosses me out.

I was able to get full friendship with Fenris on my second playthrough. It was meta-gaming for sure. I learned that unless it was completely unavoidable, I had Fenris in my party when I supported Templars and left Anders out, and then kept Anders in my party when supporting mages, but left Fenris out. It worked. Full friendship for both. You know who I have the most trouble with? Merrill. I cant seem to get any of my Hawkes and Merrill to get along.

Piecing together tweets from various devs, it seems that there are safe zones where you can freely talk to and interact with your companions (including kissing your LI). I dunno if the safe zones would just be your outposts, or if places like cities/towns/villages and general non-combat zones also count as safe areas? I'm hoping it'll be the latter, rather than having to interact with our companions around a bunch of soldiers marching around barking ambient dialogue, lol.

Do any of you have that tweet or BSN post (I forget which) where one of the devs spoke about looking into having different protagonist VO's for each race, or something like that?

Was that Mike Laidlaw? I'm scanning through the Twitter Thread now but I think he was the one that mentioned it if you want to take a look at his tweets (though there are a TON)

Vaguely remember that! And that whole 'we're invesitgating it' thing is fast becoming his catchphrase.

Oh but if it's true... I could finally have a Welsh elf protagonist! That is THE dream! (Unless they go Irish. Then it's THE nightmare!)

Yeah, I remember someone saying something about diff VO for diff races, too. Can't remember who said it, tho. Think it was the Laid Down the Law himself.

That sounds cool and like a big undertaking. But hey, if the DA Team is up for it, then I'm down for it.

It's nice to be able to check in again. Life has been crazy busy. You know how it can get. But somehow I always find my way back to the BSN and BW games.

Yeah, I hope the "safezones" are villages and whatnot, too. But I guess that means no more rewarding my LI with a smooch after he executes a particularly glorious kill move. Nothing like smooching while covered in Nutella....rawr. lol!

Have we heard anything about the castle thing lately? It's alot of keeps and outposts. I just wonder if we're gonna have our own kinda sanctuary? Hmm.

I can't see the naughty Cullen pic. I've got my Mature Content filter on. And I'm not fiddling with it.

Just been scanning through the BSN for it, can't find anything there so it must have been Twitter. I checked the Twitter thread, but I didn't see anything.
