I wonder if they'll leave out certain characters from that Heroes of Dragon Age game until after they've been confirmed in DAI? For example, if Cullen really was a companion/LI or of some importance, they might choose to leave him out of the app game until much later on.
That's very possible. Might add on more as the game gets closer to the release date and so on. Besides, they might also add more later on when they see who's popular with the fans as well.

If it's still a juicy story line, I don't mind. Might not want to drag him around with me anyway... crampin' my style.Xilizhra wrote...

I barely take my LIs anywhere in a new game. I'm scared they'll be killed. XD

I confess, I'd prefer DA2's balanced class ratios to DAO's warrior oversaturation.Danny Boy 7 wrote...

I understand that. I just would rather not have him as solely a LI if we're only going to get a token appearance know what I mean? I can wait for a good, or rather satisfying experience than one that is meant to placate us. Not that I feel the Dragon Age devs do that.Xilizhra wrote...

The ME devs did, but they did it near the end of their massive super star trilogy which I wasn't too bothered with.

I'd be a little disappointed (which I suspect I will be regardless).
However, anything is better than nothing at all. See, the biggest reason that I'd like him to be a companion (as well as an LI) is because I wanted to take him out into the world (and the Fade, if we visit) and experience what his reactions would be to things ranging from the mundane to the epic. He's been working in the Gallows/circle for years now, so I can't imagine he has much experience of the outside world beyond professional/work based Templar business, let alone much of an open mind when it comes to other cultures etc.
Still, if he was just an LI then I'd hope that we'd get at least one quest with him, be it his "first encounter" quest or a loyalty/favour quest where we have to accompany him somewhere or aid him with something. Most of all, I'd hope that his story and romance arc would feel fleshed out, obviously it wouldn't feel anywhere near as full as the companion LIs, but so long as we got more interaction with him than we did with the LIs in DA2/Traynor and Cortez in ME3 then I guess that would be alright. I'd still be disappointed though, for once I'd like to see what Cullen is like as a person on a social level, as well as in non-templar related situations, rather than a professional one or one where we're stuck talking to him in within the same 4 walls or environment for the entire game.
I guess since DAI will have been worked on for roughly 4 years by the time it ships any character interaction will likely be better than it was in DA2, so I can only hope that if, for some reason, we do end up with non-companion LIs then they'd put equally as much effort into them as they have with the normal companion LIs.

Honestly, even if he's not a companion he's bound to have a story as a LI, given BW's protestations about not just writing romance. So, while I'd rather have more than less, I'd still be celebrating.

. I just saw this Fiona image and it makes me wonder if we'll be getting more Inquisition companions/characters in the game....because can you imagine this as a way that the devs release companionsI might have just an Inquisition party when the game comes out here in the US.
This is so fascinating that they'd give her a mask. I mean, Fiona is Orlesian, I suppose, but not precisely part of the Game. Of course, like Danny says, the armors don't seem to follow canon all that closely, so may mean nothing. Promising that we're seeing some of the EU characters in the flesh, erm, pixels.

I'd be pretty ticked because I like to do a playthrough where I take just my LI. It makes the game feel more authentic and personal. (To me it doesn't always make sense as to why my character is traveling randomly with three people. But a boyfriend/girlfriend makes sense.)

There are nutcases who want to murder knife pretty much every BW character. Wasn't aware that Fiona was one of them, but not surprised.
I think Cullen has a few more haters than she does though lol

That's daft, it's not like she alone started the rebellion. If anything, it was Anders that set the ball rolling by taking action (be it right or wrong).
People better not be hunting for his blood, my Hawke will lay the smack down.

There are sooooo many people who could take blame for the war. Fiona, Anders, Orsino and, of course, all the templars who pushed them into their corners. Meredith and her merry brood of tinmen did a lot to make the mages feel as they did. Anders simply did something about it. Well, Justice and Anders. Anders did try peaceful resolutions first and both Elthina and Meredith didn't entirely dismiss him. So I wonder if their continually closing ears had some help from someone else, ie, that "darker force" that's supposedly behind it all. Maybe HE/SHE/THEY are the real culprits and everybody else is just a pawn.
