This is kinda interesting. Interview with cinematic director Jonathan Perry about DA:I. He gives a slightly more straightforward answer about how quickly we'll become the Inquisitor.

Will players be introduced as leader of the Inquisition straight away or is there a prologue chapter where you get to establish your character a little bit? We were big fans of the origin chapters in the first game…

You will have some time before you actually become the Inquisitor. We’ll open up with the events that cause this giant rift in the sky and show that the organisations and the groups of Dragon Age that would normally do something are completely incapable of responding, so there is a need to form this Inquisition. There is a need for leader of the Inquisition and, for reasons we won’t mention, your character becomes that leader. The Origin stories were really great, but as Mike Laidlaw said we will leave those stories for Origins as its own special thing. For Inquisition our reference point will be being the leader of this organisation.

Also, a frankly annoying video interview with some cosplayers from Gamex. It does, however, show a closer look at an Inquisitor costume, tho.

I didn't find it annoying! Or does it get annoying? I'm only about 3-4 minutes into it :P

I cannot believe the Inquisitor cosplayer put that together in 2-3 weeks!!! :o

The Morrigan corset STILL bothers me. Ugh. It's just weird!!  But the cosplayer did a fine job.

EDIT: lol I can't handle the posing!! *facepalm*

For the record, Xil, I don't think anyone here is arguing that Cullen is perfect or didn't make any mistakes? Because I think it's pretty clear he did - serious mistakes that will have consequences for other people as well as himself.

I at least am not even arguing for his complete rightness during Last Straw, and for that matter I don't think Cullen himself would. I think that it was actually an eye-opening experience for him about how he'd strayed off course.

I just don't think it's as simple as branding him a monster or attributing his all bad choices to malice when we consider what he did. (Not saying that's what you're doing, just making more of a general statement of course.) He has a past that affected what he did, and a pretty strong negative influence coming from Meredith, so his perception of right and wrong is of course going to be pretty skewed even when he's trying to do right.

I think he's a flawed but redeemable character, and that's what makes him so fascinating to me. If I thought he could do no wrong, he wouldn't interest me because there would be nothing there to explore. :)

As a side note, the moment where everybody argued about searching the mages' quarters through me for a loop when I was playing, because I would have just assumed room searches would be happening as a matter of course under the circumstances, so when it blew up as an issue it kind of surprised me. My Hawke was trying to be like, "This is no big deal, everyone settle down already!" But of course it didn't work. ;)

I don't disagree with you about your assessment of his morality, but the fact that I don't honestly find that much likeable in him probably makes me more willing to write him off as a casualty than you. Or, rather, I can see traits that people would like, I just don't like him personally. Perhaps I will in DAI.

it was the dude who was annoying me, but ymmv. I thought the cosplayers were awesome. The Morrigan one did have that weird angle to her corset. More so than Jessica Merizan's or the other versions I've seen. Still makes me wonder if it's really supposed to be like that or not. And I love ! the Inquisitor's outfit.

Yeah, jobs will do that. :(

Man, I was total grumpy pants at work today. I don't think anyone noticed because I tend not to show my mood changes very much, and I do love my job, but man... my shift just seemed interminable today.  Not on topic, though, so anyway...

I love your drawing! The facial expression is fantastic. :D

Yeah, I wasn't keen on Leliana at first, but once I played her DLC in DA:O and learnt more about her backstory I found a whole new appreciation for her that wasn't there initally.

Posted Image wtf is that interviewer wearing? And is it just me, or he is constantly staring at their boobs? Get rid of that guy, and the vid becomes a lot better... Well ok, could do with a little less posing... Ah well Posted Image The costumes are cool though, but I agree that the corset appears to be off.

Cullen will grow on me if/when he stops being loyal to the Templar Order. I agree that he seems to have the potential to grow past that, although I do wish that I could speak to him after the final battle with Meredith, both to negotiate the templars standing down and to figure out more what his opinion was on this whole matter.

That guy is a friend of mine that works for Powergamer, Joakim. He is not creepy, I can promise you. He is looking at their costumes and not their boobs. Just thought I'd let you know. <_<

About the corset, I think we discussed it a long time ago on this thread? I have a recollection of us agreeing that the corset of the concept art and the images from ingame looked strange. It's a long corset that does not really fit a "real" figure. more a A-shape thing.

I'm not saying that he is a creep or whatever, as I do not know the guy in person, but it surely appears like his eyes are somewhere else than only the costume from this angle... It just does not appear professional, even if oogling is not actually the case. Not saying that I could do interviews, as I would surely be staring at people in awesome costumes, lol.

To be fair to that poor corset, I wouldn't be surprised if the the Orlesians were crazy enough to wear a corset underneath everything else then have the corset everyone else sees as a fashion statement. I mean, we're talking about people who wear birds in their hair.

Ah, mea culpa, Scr0ll. Admittedly, being on-camera talent is probably a tough job. The interview is just a little awkward at times.

Yeah, this was sort of the point. Jessica's version used a more hourglass (standard?) shape, whereas this woman's follows the concept art more closely with the odd a-line shape. But, given that Jessica worked with the original artists on hers, her version could be closer to what was intended.
