I remember when DA2 was on it's way out they had a little demo that you could download and play on all platforms. That was fun. Think I replayed the demo at least 20 times lol

I wonder if there will be a demo this time? I mean, it's all open world now, so surely they'd need to put some restrictions or something in place to stop the player buggering off all over the place, LOL!

Lol, I could totally see the humor of that.   "Here, take this demo which allows you to do one single quest." *totally ignores that quest and starts to upload selfies*

I'd like to think so! Though they usually get put out only a few weeks before the actual game comes out, it'd be nice to cut our teeth on the CC at least! Dragon's Dogma was pretty open world, and they had a demo where you got to run around the field and kill that big 'ol beast. Gah I love the combat in that game <3 *runs off to load DD*

Speaking of Dragon's Dogma, I'm noticing a lot of love for that game in the Cullen thread. Do most of you play on 360 or ps3?

I know Nikki and I are on 360 :) Nikki, if you're gonna start playing again I'll have to give Vega some new gear :D

I haven't played DD, but I was actually considering buying it, along with Dark Souls, for Christmas. A little present for myself. :3

Anyways, I don't remember if it was DD or Dark Souls (pretty sure it's Dark Souls), but I remember hearing that one of them had an online aspect. Like raiding another person's kingdom (PvP) or something like that. Is that mandatory, or can you play without it? I'd hate to get pwned while trying to level up since I'm new and everything.

I've never played Dark Souls but Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen (make sure you get that, not the base game only) does have an online component. You can (and are encouraged to) rent other people's pawns (or characters) to assist you on your quest. It costs "money" (not real money) to rent pawns, but XBL friends' pawns are free! So if you and I were friends on xbox you could use my high level pawns.

You do not HAVE to play online however (and you don't need a gold/pay account to rent pawns), but the game is way more fun when playing with friends' pawns. You guys should head to the Dragon's Dogma thread here on the BSN to check it out.

By the way, I'm at work, and it's finals week, so it's been hard to keep up with the thread. But it looks like a lot of people are dropping out of the tabletop thing. Is anyone still doing this? I do not want to buy the game if no one else does.

I was going to wait until after the hustle and bustle of the holiday season. It's almost Christmastime, so I have to buy a lot of presents and plan parties and stuff. No fun time for me [smilie]http://social.bioware.com/images/forum/emoticons/sad.png[/smilie] Most of us are too busy right now (especially me), but I think we still want to do it. I do, anyway. Plus, i'm only free on weekends. That might be a bit of a problem.

How funny. I'm single and I'm a teacher, so xmas is one of the least busy times for me. No kids to bother about, and I'm off for a month.

Is anyone ready to order the game now and start trying to play?

I think you can find all of it in digital form online. I'll ask ScottishWarrior for confirmation, I know he's got the book but I think he just wanted it because he collects stuff like that.

So here is where all the fun is? :D

Hey everyone, JerHopp here. Mostly I just lurk (is that even a word) the BSN but only the DA:I section. I recently watched some youtube videos about DAI and a couple of videos about Cullen. That guy fascinated me the more I watched YTvideos.

Once in a while you see a thread on the DA:I about this interesting character (is he gonna be in the next installment, fingers crossed), but where there are fans, you will also see a lot of haters. And frankly, I don't want to get in a heated discussion, which is what mostly happens on the BSN, right?.

And then I saw this thread:

I didn't know there was an entire thread about Cullen and his worshippers (is that the correct word in this context).

So? Is there room for another guy here? You all look like great people with great taste, to say the least:lol:

Wow, it would be great to save 40 dollars! Thanks! Then I could start working on my character(s) immediately.

Do you know I am starting to shift away from Dalish rogue towards Dalish mage? I don't know, that little snippet about the Dalish mage having a separate origin from the Circle mage just intrigues me. And you can't get cuter than an adorable little Dalish First (hello Merrill; imagine male version of Merrill, le squee!).

Always!! :D Yeah Cullen very weirdly gets a lot of hate; I can only guess this is mostly because his fans are primarily female; thus the argument is made that Cullen fans are only in it for the hot templar ass lol Cullen is also sometimes hated because of his extreme anti-mage attitude in Origins. To be honest, I'm fine with people not liking Cullen; what I'm not fine with is rudeness towards his fans. I also shake my head at people who refuse to acknowledge that he's a very well-written character who has actually evolved throughout the course of the narrative so far, a rarity for an NPC (hell, some companions don't even evolve that much).

Ah thanks Motomotogirl! I feel very welcomed here. But is it mostly girls who like Cullen? Surely, there are a couple of guys, gay or straight, who can appreciate him?:D I'm not the only one now am I? lol

He's fascinating because of what he has been through during DAO en DA2 and his stance towards magic. What could be more conflicting (and thus interesting) then working with a (pro mage) Inquisitor who happens to be a mage him/herself? Make it happen Gaider!!!

No, no, not at all; in fact we have several guys in this thread. But people who hate Cullen THINK only girls like him, so that gives them a reason to hate him!

And welcome and stuff. This is the nicest thread on the BSN, though it's not always on topic ^^;

That is indeed Dark Souls, and there is no way aorund it save to not connect online. It's not terribly intrusive most of the time, and you can only be invaded while you're alive (the default state in DS is to be undead). You'll likely enjoy the hint system you get by playing online (people can create notes for one another) more than you'll hate the intruders.

Seems to me a lot of people is in my position. Ie "not until after Christmas". No? =)

So you're one of "them." The ones who are making me study 'til 9PM in the evening every.single.day for the past few weeks? :crying:

Wait, a rare chance may have opened up! Hey, MMG, you can totally message my teachers through the School's Teacher Underground Network and tell them to pass me, right? Surely they'd listen to another member of the STUN.:bandit: I wouldn't mind trading all these finals and all these essays for Dragon Age. Not. One. Bit! ;)

How DARE you imply that I would do such a thing! We at STUN pride ourselves on being an organization that holds itself to the HIGHEST moral standards. No STUN member would EVER captiulate to the seedy and underhanded pleadings of a lowly student. Also, why do you think we make you study so hard? We have to suffer as much as you do in grading all of that. We would rather be playing video games, too.

Welcome in here JerHopp! It is indeed nice in here, so feel free to hang around with us. I never understand either why some people feel the need to bash fans when they do not like a character themselves... Heck, I've never been a fan of Morrigan or Oghren, but hey, that does not make the people who do any more or less than me... I guess the wide range of like/dislike is a sign of good character writing ^^ (Still a huge Andersfan for the great character that he is, even though I would not touch him with a tenfoot pole IRL). Anyway, I'll go fetch some tea and cookies so we can get back to some good chatting...

And MMG: I'm single, but no teacher, so I don't have that much holidays-stress either. Well ok, still got to find something for my parents... but futher I will be at the local shelter and behind the computer, lol.
