I did a little reading on the game, though, and I don't think that whether or not Cullen is in the game is an indication of whether he's a companion in DA:I - Varric and Cassandra are both in HoDA according to the wiki, and we know they're in for Inquisition, too.

I'm not going to be playing HoDA because I just have a little clicky phone rather than a smart phone, so I will live vicariously too.

But at the same time, they are DA2 characters and they are also confirmed.

Mine is also up to date, but also a gen 4, so I don't know if that's what is stopping it.

Man, reading David say those things so often nowadays almost discourage me, even though I agree with what he's actually saying. I know the romances aren't the most important part. Heck, even if it's one of my most common topics to talk about, it's not even my single most beloved feature. But hearing "this is tertiary" so often does put a dampener on things. I'm probably overreacting.
You are not overreacting (imo). I read the post earlier and it actually did not affect me at all... because I've read/heard him say it so often that now it's almost meaningless. I got hurt and upset the first 1000 times he said it. Now I'm just indifferent. I sort of hang my head and acknowledge that the writer I so admire and co-creator of my favorite game thinks I'm a blumbering romance-obsessed idiot.
ah, don't worry about it. boys are just silly sometimes. it's a thing where it seems that if a guy actually says yeah! i like romance! his machismo level goes -10. not all guys. thank god. but there is this weird stigma for guys about it.
now, you know, maybe he really just don;t like writing them. the..feels? i guess? idk. cooties? lol! idk! but i do hope he's writing one of the romances for a male follower cuz i like his romances. he does write sum good romances, regardless of whether he sprains his feels in the process.
I understand the romances are not a major part of the game. i'd be quite bored with it if they were. but the presence of these romances adds this amazing, dynamic layer to the major narrative that few, if any, other devices could do.
they should show a bit more respect to it. i mean, love/romance, the great heros seem to always have a great love. it helps to make them human. helps the audience to relate. it doesn't always work out for the hero and their love, but many times it's an important part of their motivation.
a real life love story has a profound impact on a human being. it is a profound experience. good or bad. it is powerful. and i believe it's a worthy goal to at least work towards recreating that experience as best you can within whatever medium you're working with.
i don;t think it's silly.

It makes me want to spam DA confessions with repeated confessions about wanting to romance all the non-romanceables (Captain Ewald, Keran, Tarohne, Sandal, Meredith) and see if I can start to trigger DG.
Captain Ewald....I always wondered about him, too.
p.s. I like your list of romance-ables: HOT, kinda hot, um..., What?!, OMG NO.And Fergus Cousland. And Teagan Guerrin. And Nathaniel Howe. And the Cull-ster (Cull-ster? seriously, R2? yeaaah... it's early).
Ahem, you're welcome.Screenshot by Yankee23, additional mod by DA Confessions.

Is it lame that I'm irritate that they got both Merrill and Anders hair colour completely wrong. Anders is full on ginger in the HoDA game, yet it's pretty clear that he's blonde in DA2, especially since his bloody nickname is blondie!
Nah it bothers me to. Especially Merril for some reason. Idk expected better from BioWare I guess.

Urgh tell me about it
I wasn't paying attention and got into a duel with someone that had Aveline, The Arishok, Merrill and Orsino. Oh, and a dragon.
My Stroud (whom I got twice
I think I've been ohko'd quite a few times by... Yavana, I think? Looks an awful lot like her.
Kinda sucks that anyone who decides to pay money is going to be > you, but what can you do.

Great video. I signed up for the beta, so it's all about luck now. Even so, it sounds awesome regardless if I get picked or not.
Still don't get why people want to see their Warden and Hawke again so badly. I always figured their stories are done, so why bring them back? And imagine the technical difficulties. I'd rather BioWare focus on something else than bring the Warden and Champion back. Granted, the two would have respect and power when it comes to decisions and leading an army and whatnot, but I really don't see how they could come back. Oh well. What can you do? XD

I hope Hawke will get a good conclusion, but that doesn't mean I have to see her again. Maybe some tales of Varric (like Leliana would tell us), or people referring to the great Champion of Kirkwall, Savior of the Mages.

Personally I am not like 'I want the warden and Hawke back!', but as far as I know Bioware has been hinting badly that they ARE in one way or another coming back in DA:I. I won't really mind anyway, whether we get to see them again or not.

I don't know what gender they are, but Mr. Gaider's confirmed he wrote two of the romantic subplots for Inquistion over at his tumblr.
(It could mean Cas is romanceable? Seeing we know he writes her? Or it could mean he's written three of the followers, while Cas isn't romanceable.)

You Combined the two Strouds to get a Stroud II, yup? =) I've only gotten to do that once so far, and not with anything Rare or upwards.Batteries wrote...
My Stroud (whom I got twice [smilie]http://social.bioware.com/images/forum/emoticons/uncertain.png[/smilie]), sylvan, dark revenant, and grey warden rogue & mage lasted about 3 seconds. Even being a few levels ahead.
It'd be nice to hear what my Hawkes have been up to after the Kirkwall incident. Their story pretty much didn't really conclude.PhantomGinger wrote...

Besides, I want to hear Jo Wyatt again ^^;
I hope Cas is romanceable. A table-stabbing warrior princess sounds like something my Qunquisitor could get behind after my Humanquisitor has already gobbled Cullen for some 60 hours or soDirgegun wrote...

We don't have any idea how many companions Gaider's writing, do we? Hmm.
