@rapscallioness that depends on what kind of knowledge is that... if its something that it could possibly destroy the world i rather just keep it to my self same thing like i did with the sacred ashes i rather ppl not abuse those ashes

heh, heh. yeah, see i was totally w/Genetivi on that. i was like hellz yeah! tell everyone! bring the pilgrims! heh, heh.

i regret nothing. lol!

edit: besides which, i couldn't see the urn not being guarded, even w/the pilgrims. the urn would still be guarded. i couldn't imagine them just letting ppl fondle the ashes of andraste, and all that.

just wanted to post sum cullen on the cullen thread..heh, heh. i got this one from "nexusmods" by Cmessaz.  I like this pic. That moment of goodbye when your Warden is conscripted. Never thought abt how that would be, tbh. young forbidden love beginning to flourish that is now plucked away. oh, even if warden stayed...i mean..what it would have been a chaste love considering all the things. maybe even sum nasty--potentially dangerous--rumors surely would have spread abt sumthing going on more than what it was.

Or, warden would have grown to be first enchanter one day, and cullen knight commander. and they would have had a very productive relation that coulda been good for the ferelden mages. huh.

I also like the way the situation is noticed by duncan in this pic.

Those prophecies give me the idea that, with the tearing of the veil, the border between the fade and 'real' world will disappear, like how it was on the old days. Seeing how the elves speak about 'we all used to have magic', that is how I expect it to be: instead of only a few people, everyone will get some sort of link to magic. Perhaps not able to weild it, but... something.
Somehow I think that the 'he' has something to do with the bigass dragon that appears in the vid. Some old god perhaps? Or the Maker himself?

LOL, Cullen will **** his pants if he wakes up one day with the ability to shoot lightning at fools.

/laaaaaate

I wonder if, rather than people magically becoming magical, if it would just mean that every generation from then on would be capable of magic or if more and more mages would just start being born until it was a normal thing. Someone already said that there's many more mages now than there was when his mother was a child. I think a small part of me would prefer it being done that way rather than the big, magical 'everyone has magic now wooosh!'

Honestly, though, when it comes down to it and when I'm in the thick of the game, I'll be all for whatever Bioware does. :wizard:

I promised to update on what I decided to bring as a gift to my work event, so here it is if anyone is interested:

I decided to go with the relaxation/de-stressing theme, so I got a fuzzy red and green blanket, a pair of holiday mugs, a box of hot chocolate, and a pine-scented candle. Thanks to all of you guys who pitched some of those ideas to me!
I also put in... okay, just to preface this, we all have a kind of warped sense of humor. ;) As I was driving home yesterday, that Santa-related Christmas song came on the radio, "He sees you when you're sleeping, he knows when you're awake, he knows if you've been bad or good, so be good for goodness sake!" and couldn't help thinking, "Hey, that is not unlike our job!" (I mentioned this earlier in the thread, but I'm a youth counselor in residental mental healthcare.) Thus, the idea was born.

I got a couple of those Christmas ornaments that you personalize, and cut out pictures of Santa from cheap wrapping paper that made him look angry and dismayed. Then for the backs I printed out "Santa is putting you on 5 minute bed checks!" and "Santa is giving you an Unsuccessful for Behavior Management!"

So in addition to the relaxing evening of hot chocolate items, the box contains those two topical homemade Christmas ornaments. Hopefully my coworkers will enjoy the fruits of my labors. :P

Also... if you frame them in like your media/gaming room or whatever :P Just don't put them in your bedroom... unless you're not afraid of scaring away any special "company"

Hannah - That ornament idea was peeeerrrfect! LOL

Face of Evil - what kind of posters are we talking about here? Bands? Sports? Knock offs of famous paintings? Farrah Fawcett circa 1976? I mostly agree with the others in saying to class it up with a frame... unless it's just a thonged woman on a Harley. You may have to hide your shame on something like that one. lol

So, you come back w/ a truth..or maybe just something that calls into question what Thedas has been taught thus far, and you have a choice. Do you unleash the knowledge--maybe shaking/destroying Faith? Or, do you hold back? (Eventually form a secret order that are the only ones that know this "truth"?)

I think this is the problem with my Black City suggestion. For how much I would love to go there and get the real story on the Darkspawn and the magisters, etc., I don't want them to "explain" the Andrastean religion. I also don't think they would totally destroy faith in that case. DG has said that explicitly in a reallly interesting post he once made about the Old Gods and how they fit in with the other Pantheons, that they wouldn't just explain "the truth" about all the creation myths and so forth. So, I don't think they'd sweep away the notion of faith in the Maker or Andraste or whatever. I would love for the CRISIS™ of Dragon Age to be a shaking of that faith, with all the personal, theological and geopolitical ramifications, only to let the game end on a "we still don't know; where did that burning bush come from" type of note.

this is sort of what I figured about being as they once were. That with no Veil magic is free for anyone. It also could talk about the Tranquil all 'being as they once were' which would dovetail nicely with Asunder.

That possibility I find particularly interesting. Would they need to be a mass re-Tranquilisation? Could it even be done? Will the Rite even work after all this?

And what pf the Qunari and their mindless workers who have been all qamek'd up? Is it just a Qunari version of the Rite? Will they have some sort of massive rebellion now?
I've been thinking a lot about them recently and all the possible implications. What if Inquistion has the demon threat forever ended? What if everyone is now a Saarebas?

Huh. I guess I would hope that they'd change the playing field of the magic haves and have nots so significantly that you couldn't possible remove it... unless some big magicky answer is part of DA:I's End Game, like magic becomes unstable after the Veil Rip and so you never know who might have magic at any given time or something
handwavey like that.

On qamek... I always thought that that was more like lobotomizing than magic stripping, since they were going to
use it on Isabela. So... I guess I wouldn't have expected that could be reversed, altho admittedly I know very little about it.

What kind of Dragon Age merchandise would you like to see available to purchase?

Take this quick survey and tell us about it: http://svy.mk/JE48lK

This was the silliest survey. Okay I was a bit of an ass  But I said I'm an adult. I don't need toys and posters for my dorm room lol I want t-shirts, jewelry, and so on. Stuff I can actually wear and use. Then I negated all of that by adding "also, plushies."

LOL Indeed, this was a silly survey... although I suppose it's point was about "collectibles." I just don't understand who's so interested in collectibles anyway. The DA prints they had on the bioware store were some of the last merchandise they had in stock...

I also don't care for collectables like that. I plugged for t shirts that represent the different factions or playable races. Make me a cool shirt that's super comfy and not cheapo fabric... then I'll sport a bad**** Templar or Qunari banner around town. Or maybe they could let you choose an icon for your favorite spell or talent.

Yeah I'm really not prepared to pay for that much money for a figurine. I too asked for more faction stuff, specifically Qunari because I love them. They have a few fun little Qunari items with that lovely sea symbol they have, but I emphasised the serious need for new Dragon Age clothes. I feel bad after reading MMG's post that I forgot to ask for plushies. (Ashamed that I love them)

Yeah a lobotomy is the best analogy I feel, even though everyone always says it's brainwashing. :?

The thing is, the qamek was all glowy in the comics. It just makes me think it's similar to the Rite.

Well, it might be made of lyrium or a similar substance. That would explain the glowing.

The Qunari use the qamek on people/elves/whatever they capture who refuse to convert to the Qun. When the Qunari capture mages, they use it on them whether they are willing to join the Qun or not. Because they're, you know, mages. So, lobotomizing would be the most accurate term, since the qamek may be used on both mages and non-mages alike.

There are so many Cullen-themed things I wanted to ask for, but I didn't want to seem demanding or creepy or anything.

So go right ahead. The more we bug Bioware, the more likely they are to listen to us! ;)
