Yeah, eventually they'll want to stress test the capacity of the server, so more folks will probably make it in. In the meantime, kudos to those who've gotten an invite!! Merry Christmas, indeed! I'm just glad we actually know a few of the chosen so we'll get at least a limited view of what it's like (NDA, not withstanding).Danny Boy 7 wrote...
I expect we'll all get in when they release it to the masses, they tend to have open betas before they actually release it.
Yeah, so far it seems like folks who are on a, um, first name basis with the devs. But, hey, that also makes sense for a first selection round, and sort of what we expected. Just glad the invites are out. I was starting to wonder if the beta process was late once someone pointed out that BW said they'd notify in December.LolaLei wrote...

Yeah, plus now would be a good time to start filming so that when the NDA goes down you can post the updates and awesomeness that is the Keep (if it is awesome). Can you imagine a Lola video made months in advance.....MIND BLOWN!!!! And by that I mean having time for you to perfect an already perfect format.R2s Muse wrote...

And, now to find out if there's any sort of file import function at all!! Yay!!! Or at least, hopefully yay? I wonder if you'll be able to tell us that. Hmm.

I dunno if they'll let me make a video about the DA Keep Beta because they want us to sign an NDA. Presumably they'll give us more details about it nearer the time.

Im not too worry about it I'm sure we will all get the beta eventually in the later stages, so its not that big of a deal for me, I've waited this long, and can wait a couple of more months![]()
I do however have a question for you Lola and I hope you will be able to answer this, when you got the email was it from Origin, EA, or something else?

But not if they have to sign an NDA. So ultimately this was just favoritism.
.... Bitter, party of oneObviously I'm not mad at Lola or anyone. I think everyone who got an invite deserves it... but in a sense, they are lucky, too. They can make videos or costumes or do things others of us can't. So it is unfair, and it smarts, because, for example, everyone in this thread is a raging DA fan, but only one gets recognized because they know her. They're crazy if they don't think that's going to hurt a LOT of people.
Again, not mad at Lola (or the others) AT ALL; Kudos to you guys for getting invites!!!
EDIT: Just want to add, that once again I'm not impressed with their PR/marketing approach. I don't even have my degree in that, and I think I could do better lol

Lola, you b*tch!Just kidding, that's awesome! I'm super happy for you, you and all the other YT guys/gals and cosplayers absolutely deserve it.
Here's hoping they let you discuss it at least a little bit, as far as the mechanics and stuff like that. That's so exciting that it's at that testing stage though, I'll be for sure hounding my email like a fiend lol.

Directly from BioWare, must be the in-house team or something.

Once I get the second email where I have to sign all the bits and pieces I'll contact Aaryn Flynn and find out how long we'd have to keep quiet about it etc. I'm hoping that maybe there's an embargo like last time with the DAI demo.
I wondering if maybe they're planning on releasing a video about it themselves, and that's why we have to sign an NDA or something.
I think they really need to market the Keep, it's replacing (for the most part) the ability to import our choices. One mistake, just one import bug and the sharks will come! Me included, because honestly I NEED this to work. I dunno I want all my choices (or at least the one's that come up) to actually reflect my choices. I don't mind retconning so to speak (or rather the choice not equaling what I thought as long as it's explained later on)littlenikki wrote...

I watched a YT video, GamerMD I think, where she did an interview w/ one of the Bioware guys about what the Keep is all about that was pretty informative. It seems like they're really eager to share it w/ the fans, a video from them would be great!

they will release to pretty much everyone I'm sure because, they might want to "stress-test" the network and such, which involves getting as many people as they possibly can to join in at once. they need to consistently keep ramping up the number of users - it also helps with their feedback and metrics if they get a range of player types
I think it's unfair for you to walk away with nothing, MMG...motomotogirl wrote...

How about those who devote countless hours writing fanfic or doing fanart? If you are going to say this is based on merit, dont they deserve the same? But they will not get it.littlenikki wrote...

Calling it favoritism is a bit unfair. The cosplayers and YT people work really hard in their free time to pay tribute to a video game that inspires them. It makes sense, and is actually pretty cool, that the developers would recognize and reward them in a sense by shifting through all those applications to find them. I disagree that it's favoritism, or a way for them to market DAI. It seems to me that it's just Bioware being gracious to their passionate fanbase, and rewarding the ones that have made that extra effort to show their love of the game in other more recognizable outlets.

Fortunately this is just the first wave of invites, so they'll be sending out plenty more in the coming weeks/months. I just hope they'll let me make a video about it because I don't like not being able to share this sort of thing.
