*wow--the quoting thing just had an apopolectic fit on me. "Quotes gone Wild". Edit!*

Yes, I think DAA was def a testing for things in DA2. The combat was more like DA2. And the click on your companions and get a one liner thing was transferred into DA2.

It was kinda a more intimate party. But one of the things that really brought home the feeling of intimacy for me as a party in DAO was the whole campfire thing. For some reason that small thing made me feel closer to them. Like we were all roughing it together.

In DAA, they all kinda just stood abt in these stiff positions in the Keep. It was a lil odd. No movement. Sten liked to pace. And Zev would randomly find something interesting on the ground to pick up.

I loved Sigrun. Sigrun and Nathaniel were my fav companions in that game. I miss Sigrun. She was so funny w/the Feign ability. She would just clunk-clunk in mid battle. At first I didn't know what was going on. Then I remembered I gave her the Feign ability. It was still so funny to see.

I can't imagine what it may have been like to see Zev in DA2, and just happen to have Isabela with you. Damn. Cold blooded.

I thought the story abt the Architect was really interesting. At the end he almost got me w/that smooth talk. But then I remembered wait, you've done horrific things, and are an all around pain in my azz. Cuz of him that whole Mother thing, etc.

And then ofc, Justice, and sum other npc's were like, "Kill it ! Kill it w/Fire!" And that helped bring me back to my senses. So, I did. Good thing I had my special fire resistance ring on me. Whew. My party dropped like flies! It was just me and Archi.....and my magical fire resitance ring.:?

That Nathaniel quest in DA2: It was interesting in being curious abt what the Wardens were up to. Hawke's name just kinda popping up inregards to what they were doing. Their strange advisors--intelligent DarkSpawn, maybe? Or..Idk.

But what was really funny to me is when I had carver join the Wardens. Carver is there and we start chatting. Nathaniel's all shocked, "Wait, you knoooow each other?" Carver: "Yes. She's my Sister." In that Carver way. lol! Nathaniel just looked a bit...confused for a moment and surprised. Then the darkspawn came.

I was thinking you didn't know Carver was a Hawke? Hell, you didn't know he was w/us in the Deep Roads on that infamous quest? Tsk, tsk

Poor Carver. No wonder the precious babe has insecurity issues regarding his older sib.

MMG: Zevran's romance with the Warden (if you romanced him) is acknowledged in DA2, he'll turn down the offer to sleep with Isabela and he won't tried his luck with Hawke, instead saying that his heart belongs to another (with different variations based on if your Warden is dead or whatever). The only reason we didn't get to see it was because the plot flags are ****ed, but it's in there and it's supposed to be in there.

So their romance is acknowledged it's just that DA2 is glitchy, lol.

Is this something I never paid attention to?

Or are you talking about so called "barking"? Barking is when you click/switch to a companion or give them orders to for example open a chest and they respond by saying something: Alistair might say "do this - do that". The barking was present in DAO.

They're being a bit....free...with his powers aren't they lol.

Btw has it been said whether or not Zevran is in game yet?

Well when they were still developing DA2, and I think this way back when we still called him MEG, they were talking how his powers were very Kitty Pryde and stuff. I think if it was allowed the development time it needed, we would have gotten a more in depth look at his powers. I also remember how the tattoos were meant to be causing Fenris constant physical pain, but they sort of limited that to the ever present memory of the pain. Pity, personally I find that more interesting.

And they said they will implement Zevran in the future. They're probably just trying to balance him out while still not being an Isabela reskin or something.

No it's like pressing A or whatever when they're in the base or following you around and like Fenris would just say 'Hawke' about 53 times in a row everytime you click him, (until he said 'I am yours' and you melt)

I've read what those dialogues were too, but for the life of me I can't seem to track 'em down. They don't appear to be on the wiki from what I can find.

What Elfman said.

Actually, I can't remember if they do the "bark" in DAA and DA2 when you switch to get them to do things.

They had that in DAO. I liked it. It was a nice way to reflect the growing relationship between you and your followers. But I think in DAA and DA2 when you simply switch around they don't say anything. You have to actually press A on them.

Oh yes, I know. It's almost even worse than not being acknowledged at all! :pinched:

BUT -- I've heard a dialogue (glitched, of course) exists that acknowledges the romance, but only if the Warden dies. (That's the "my heart belongs to another" speech). I've never seen a dialogue that acknowledges and on-going romance with a living Warden.

Anyway, Zevran is ALWAYS glitched. Glitched in DA2, and glitched in Denerim at the end of the game, when his "good-bye" speech is stuck on the friendship version instead of the romanced version.

And like Danny said... Alistair gets a couple appearances and acknowleges his love, Morrigan has Witch Hunt, Leliana acknowledges her love in DA2, Zevran... doesn't show up at all until DA2 and then is glitched.

Grrrrr lol

Yeah they only "bark" in DA:O. Tbh I didn't really like it because it was kind of weird and broke the fourth wall... they were responding to my controller skipping over their icon lol It was kind of weird. But I did like that Zevran would say, Si, Mi Amor? And then a couple times Alistair glitched and said, "Yes, my love?" and I felt really confused and conflicted LOL

Oh, speaking of revealing another companion, I also hope it's a male next.

One because male companions seem to get the shaft in marketing anyways.
Two because my body is not ready for another female character dissection event.

He and Lelianna send the Warden a letter in DA:O:A too! But... those also glitch.

All of the glitches.

As a weird masochist for stuff like this, I kind of want another female companion reveal. I'm not an angry person so I guess I just enjoy getting worked up over all the horrible things that inevitably pour out of these threads, like Lord Raijin's raging misogyny when someone starts talking about Anita Sarkeesian.

Well, that's prolly cuz the marketing is still geared towards the assumption of a straight male protag. And what better to have by his side than a couple of hot chicks, and a non-threatening, no competition, Bro character.

Yes, he feels very snug and safe now.

Oh don't get me wrong, I'm highly amused by the raging but I want another male character first before a new female. I need more ammunition (read: many new pictures) to combat the inevitable threads.
We have Cullen but that only goes so far.Image IPB

I've never seen Raijin rage about Sarkeesian before either, just the mage stuff.  :alien:

In the let's play I'm doing now Alistair calls my male Warden "my love". I'm role playing that he is jokingly calling the Warden that, but has a secret crush on him.  :kissing:  ;)

Oh yeah I'm almost certain unless they go for a double reveal or something it will be a male companion next. Still, loooking forward to the hate.

And yeah, it was actually depressingly funny because of how stereotypical it was about feminism polluting his games. Sort of hypocritical that he says that sort of thing one minute then whinges about mage oppression the next.

No ****ing way! We might get to go there?!?! Mages can suck it, we elves are way better at being oppressed if we can still have that after all these years!

This has already made my January.

Oh wow, lovely art! I'd like to have stuff like that to hang on my wall... secretly geeky.
