I agree that the Keep probably won't let you create same-sex romances between Alistair and the Warden or Morrigan and the Warden. Of course it's my great hope that it would, but I doubt it (especially if either or both appear in the game, and we know Morrigan does). A lot of the fans would lose their sh!t, not over Morrigan of course but Alistair. God imagine all the uproar regarding "retconning Alistair into being a playsexual sell out" etc. etc.
As for same-sex marriage, it's too bad DA is an older game; I have a feeling if DA:I were it's first game and not it's third that it would have same-sex marriage. It's such a progressive game and company. Actually, you can work same-sex marriage into a royal storyline; not producing an heir could be particularly appealing to those who aren't comfortable with the incoming spouse's bloodline and who have another heir in mind.
Oh yeah the Morrigan romance is probably even worse since she's preggers even if the DR was refused but the Warden did sleep with her earlier, (which is just stupid unless part of the ritual involved her whacking her womb with a baseball bat before she did the deed since she even says the baby had to be concieved on the eve of the battle...but I'll let it slide it's not important).
But I disagree with that same sex marriage thing. The writing team has barely changed since DAO and I think David Gaider would have been the most against it to be honest judging from (the way I remember) his wording in an interview. He just seemed so matter-of-fact about it. And honestly, even supporting gay marriage and being bisexual myself, I agree with him that in the minds of most people it's just too modern. I'd accept it if Isabela said she had gay pirates on her ship who were married, (since pirates did have gay marriages funnily enough), but the Chantry was, at the end of the day, started by nobles and the whole point of nobility is to have kids and carry on the dynasty so of course it's going to. Plus it would just remove the illegitimate bastard thing completely. If he married a guy ALL of Alistair's kids would have to be illegitimate.
