I hope the Inquisitor is able to have personality. Dear Maker I hope so.

I think what they May be doing is just cutting out the assumed personality for auto-dialogue parts. So, maybe you have more control of how your PC reacts in every situation. Instead of having it assumed because of dominant tone.

Which I'd like cuz there were times when I did not want Hawke being auto snarky, or auto aggro. Let me choose how in any given situation.

This is my hope, at any rate. And maybe the dialogue itself won't revolve around the tone, but rather be implied because of the actual dialogue.

But there were times when the auto-dialogue was GREAT, and tbh, it truly defined my various Hawke's during really specific moments. For example, at the end of the Fenris romance, when Fenris confesses his feelings...

Nemanja Hawke, my thoughtful, diplomatic, mature Hawke, replies, "I understood. I always understood."

Whereas Eirik, my snarky adorable bastard Hawke, says, "Oh, I dunno. This might be fun to hold over you awhile longer."

When Fenris grabs him and kisses him, it's different, you know? Grabbing that uber romantic Hawke versus grabbing that snarky bastard and shutting him up with a kiss lol

I'm going to miss that, desperately.

lol my characters are almost always snarky :P but i really did enjoy the Fenris romance, specially with that kind of character altho I did feel kind of  "bad"  at times cause with my "snarky"  Hawke    didnt really took his pain too seriously .

Mind you, it's possible be that you could pick a snarky/diplomatic/aggressive comment and still get the that same feeling.

I mean, presumably we'll still have the basic diplomatic, Sarcastic and aggressive dialogue options anyway, so you could just pick more snarky lines or whatever. Hopefully when it comes to sexytime/kissing we'd be able to choose our "last word" before the scene happens, like you could in the Mass Effect games.

I think DG said something about it being stressful to do or something. I'm not surprised that he passed up the opportunity to write another novel, judging by his tweets he's been writing up stuff for DAI almost non-stop. I'm amazed at how much he's able to churn out! I guess he must have found inspiration or something.

This is the impression I got from his Tumblr post. I think it has more to do with he's spreading himself too thin with all the writing he's doing for the game. I mean from the sounds of everything, this game is massive, so I can't imagine he's got a lot of time to do outside writing.

Hopefully they'll be a little more open now that we've been given a decent chunk of information.

I still think they may be a bit more cryptic with the tweets, considring they might "save" all the good stuff for the dev diaries, I'm assuming its gonna be a short sprint  review day just like it has been with little bits and pieces of info that we prob already know so far, but who knows we might get a surprise (atleast thats what I'm hoping for)^_^

The last few Sprint reviews have been super short since the stuff they're reviewing now would be too spoilery to hint at, so presumably they won't tweet an awful lot.

I sure hope so!! I really feel close to my two canon Hawke's; to me they have such distinct personalities. I do love my Warden... but I've had to construct his personality in my head, which isn't as fun.

Yeah, I really wanna know more about the dialogue wheel. Actually, aside from wanting to know about Cullen's involvement etc, the other thing I really wanna find out is the playable race background blurb and how each race option ends up in the area/involved in the whole veil tear thing in the first place.

SAME!! I also want to know if I will have a choice to be a Dalish elf, a city elf, or perhaps even a country or traveling elf. And what makes me decide or feel forced into deciding to join the inquisition.

You'll definitely have the option of playing a Dalish Elf again, I know that much. Stands to reason that we'll probably get the option of a city Elf again too, I like the idea of a traveling Elf, reminds me of Boris! <3

I love how sarcastic is capitalized. Yeah, I love sarcastic Hawke, too.

Srsly, tho, this is what I hope because there were quite a few times when Hawke did really auto-speak outta turn for me.

Like I had just been dealing w/sum nefarious bandits, and threatened to cut off their toes for a few lines. Then I'm in a diff situation, speaking w/ a companion, and Hawke is rawring at them. Easy, Hawke, this isn't the bandits you're abt to kill.

That would make me cringe sometimes cuz how I may speak and act w/a bad guy in a pre battle situation may be diff than how I'm gonna interact w/my companion during a quiet moment together...or at the tavern.

interesting. the last few sprint revs have been a bit lacking, iirc. it's also interesting that they're teasing this one like this. hmm, may have to check in on this one.

That reminds me of how much I hated the friendship/rivalry system. Like to get rivalry with someone, it wasn't just about doing stuff they hated. During conversations you sometimes had to use the aggressive comments. Which is like... really??

Fenris: I was a slave for most of my life.
Hawke: Oh BOO F***ING HOO, cry me a river.

Fenris: +5 rivalry

Rivalry? That should have been +5 "I hate you; why am I following you again???"

Or if you're really horrible to Merrill and she still comes to Hawke's estate wanting to have sexytimes. No way would Merrill wanna romance anyone who's that cruel!

You can kinda suspend belief with Anders and Isabela, since Anders head is all over the place so it's plausible that he'd fall for a Hawke that's horrible to him because he's a bit of a train wreck when you rival him, and I could totally see Isabela being into some hate sex.... but Fenris and Merrill probably wouldn't want anything to do with a Hawke that's down right awful to them.

yeah abt the friendship/rivalry.

i think in dao they just had the approval/disapproval. if the disapproval got too high, they were leaving, or challenging you to fight. lol!

could you still romance w/high disapproval, tho? idk. i don't think so. anyway, i think that works better overall. it could be interesting to have that rivalmance thing, but i'm willing to let that go.

hmm, that may prove to be difficult, tho. trying to romance someone on a diff divide and not being able to rivalmance.

gifts, maybe? can i buy your love? lol!

hopefully it'll be more abt how you behave, or treat ppl in general that garners approval/disapproval. not your political stance?

Yeah, seriously. Merrill falling in love with someone who treats her like crap? :? My Hawke who romanced her couldn't even be sarcastic. I had to make her diplomatic because being sarcastic was like, just kind of being a meanie lol

Poor Anders lol

Yep, luckily I never had to fight anyone  Although Alistair did surprise me when he suddenly confronted me about killing Connor. At that point I had had no idea there was an alternative, or that Connor could even be saved. I thought he was possessed by a demon, so, you know, kill it with fire and all that. He seemed cool with it at the time. Then he bumrushes me at the camp. Jerk lol

Lol! bumrushes you at camp. That is so funny cuz they do.

You drag your butt back to camp and are confronted w/a cutscene Sten in your face, "How are you going to defeat the Archdemon!?!" Me: "Well, I thought I'd bewilder it w/B.S." Sten: "Then you are succeeding admirably."

You! lmao!

I went thru all the dialogue options w/Connor cuz I was looking for a way out w/that. sheesh. Well, except for that one time when I accidentally walked into his room and he went all Rawr demon-y on me and I had to kill him right then...Sheesh!
