I think they've just been over the top because we're meant to see them as pompose nobility. Kind of like how in English shows, pompose nobility is given the poshest of British accents and portrayed as over the top.

Leliana and Riordan weren't over the top at all, and both were Orlesian. In fact I really hope Riordan's VA is voicing a possible companion, because dat voice:wizard:

Yeah they are definitely exaggerated for comedic effect.

I think there'd be more posh English comedy characters if they weren't already busy voicing our protagonists.  (Said the bitter northerner)

I think it was one of the behind the scenes ones. Don't quote me on that though, I watched them all back to back whilst gathering notes for the video, so they all blurred into one, lol.

I think Male!Hawke and his family sounded pretty normal? I can't play as a female Hawke because she sounds completely different to the rest of her family, though I do like her VA. She voices a pretty badarse Imperial Agent in SWTOR. /o/

Actually, you get to meet a lot of pompous posh Brits in SWTOR. My snarky light sided Sith Warrior's a jerk-face to them all. And Lord Baras. It's hilarious being a jerk to Lord Baras.

Haha OMG, I think this is the wrong podcast, but they just asked the question who would you be in Thedas and this guy's answer, I'd just be a sad, lonely sculptor in the Anderfels who sculpts sad things and the other guy was just You don't get escapism do you? And I just laughed my ****ing head off.

I'm not the best Malehawke judge. As a City Elf, I just so can't play as Vaughan, so I never get out of Lothering. And again to be fair, even Lola sounds really posh to me. :P

I love BroHawke's voice; I always have to look Vaughn up to remember who he is, so it doesn't affect me.

I liked LadyHawke's voice until Lola pointed out how posh it was; now it bothers me LOL

Has anyone ever played the Akinator guessing game? It guessed Cullen in less than 10 questions! And says 226 other people have also picked Cullen. The last person to try was six days ago. Somewhere out there, there's another Cullen fan playing Akinator xD

Yeah, it went the rounds around here. I'm still shocked it guessed Cullen.

LMAO, why does everyone say that! People say that my accent swings between posh and common sometimes within the same sentence, but I think that's just the way people talk where I live... that or I'm having an identity crisis!

Seriously, I wouldn't worry, (I only think you're the middle class kind of posh). And I have a really common as muck family so to me, anyone who's upper working class or higher is automatically posh in my eyes.

And, DG on DLC. (and addendum)

Starkhaven, FTW!!! (pleasepleasepleaseplease)

This is interesting. So, there was this big plot that was supposed to be just dlc. Then they decided to fold this plot into the Exalted March expansion. That got canceled, so they folded this big plot and possibly elements of the entire expansion into DAI.

This is what my understanding of this comment is.

Tbh, I cannot see how Kirkwall would Not have had an Exalted March slapped on their behinds. I mean, the Divine was ready to march before Anders blew up the Chantry. Heck, that right there could be enough to rip the Veil. It's already thin over Kirkwall; then the mage/templar/chantry blown up thing; then an Exalted March...sheesh

Merrill and the Mirror: Would the mirror still even be in Kirkwall? After the story in DA2, Varric says the Templars did finally come, but they were long gone by then. I guess Varric returned cuz that's where his stuff was. lol!And then got dragged in by Cass.

But did Merrill come back to Kirkwall, too? If not, I can't see her leaving the mirror in Kirkwall, or anywhere she is not.

Good Lord, the shipping costs for that thing must be astronomical.

I'm wondering about something, If I never helped out Merrill with her mirror quest, in DAI would she still have found a way to get it regardless?

Well, I usually never help her w/the mirror. That gets me alot of rivalry w/her. She even says, "You're just a SHEM like all the others." ouch.

Sometimes I get enuf rivalry that she destroys the mirror herself after everything w/the Keeper. But if you don;t get enough rivalry...it just kinda backs away into the shadows and is never mentioned again.

So, I haven't come across any in game signs that Merrill does it herself if you don't help. But it's only w/maxed rivalry that she destroys the mirror, otherwise...who knows?

I see, I've only tryed to do it once but then she got all pissy with me and I was like "umm yea im not helping you anymore" so I never got to the part where she actually destroy's it because i never went  the whole way to complete the quest. But if she doesnt do anything about it I wonder if the Keeper will use it for some creepy sht since she kind of already has a demon in her...

I...killed the Keeper. You can let the Keeper live? I didn't know that.

The Keeper said the demon could only die if she was dead. Then she "woke up" and was a like sugar and spice and flattering Merril abt how strong she was. I was like,"....I call B.S. on this." Then it went , "RAWR!"

What is like if you don't kill the Keeper? I'm assuming you don't have the confrontation w/the Clan then?

However, if the Keeper is alive, and the Mirror still intact. That might indeed be interesting.

I actually really love your accent Lola. I love British accents anyway... fullstop. Heck, been at a trade fair in Birmingham four years ago and I was like: "just keep talking people... I cba about what, but I am totally enthralled by your voices" lol

I usually get into full rivalry with Meril... Been a friend once, and helped her with the mirror, but it just felt wrong... Even though I want to be friendly to her... meh.

I've always felt that each of the DLC's was geared to a specific archetype - "Legacy" had a mage/magic vibe to it and "Mark of the Assassin" definitely had a rogue/intrigue feel. I firmly believe Warrior Hawkes got the shaft when the 3rd DLC was cancelled because it would have been their turn to shine. :(

Yeah, it's very difficult for me to help Merrill w/the Mirror. I'm doing a run like that now, but everything in me screams No!

I understand others feel it's important to trust Merrill in this. And I'm actually keeping that in mind as I do this recent PT, but it's still extremely difficult.

No, Im talking like if you dont do her mirror quest at all, then you dont have to kill the Keeper, and thats why I kind of said that she is still alive with a demon insider her,  and she might get ahold of the mirror if you dont help Merril with it

Oh, I see. That would be an interesting turn of events, and I imagine that demon could cause a world of hurt w/ a foothold in the world of Thedas and the Mirror.

Do you think the demon was really there when the mirror was first crafted? Does it really know all it claimed to know? Perhaps, its knowledge combined w/Maerathari's could get it to working again. Or, maybe it has no idea, either.

Lol! You didn't do the quest. This just makes me imagine a Maerathari that took the demon into herself and is just standing there waiting like, ."...uh, you guys are still coming, right?"

LOL. Well after my 1st attemt to do it I think it was like in my 2nd playthrough since I got the game but after that i was like screw it im not doing this nonsense anymore:P  altho I would think that if Merril doesnt come look for it I suspect that the Keeper might find someone else and use them as her guniepig.. but who knows:?

For any interested authors and artists out there, the new Dragon Age Big Bang is open for signups! I did it last year and it was an awesome experience. Basically, writers write something, get matched with an artist, and the artist creates art based on the story. The details on when/how/how long are here:

http://dragonagebb.t...en-for-business

I'd do it again, except that I'm trying to finally finish a story I put on hold last time to do the DABB. So, FWIW, I recommend the experience.
