That's not to say he wouldn't find one attractive, or even fall in love with one (after all, he has done in the past) BUT, I could totally see him not being able to physically allow himself to do so due to the reasons I mentioned above.

Oh okay, yes, I could totally see that happening... I mean it would be a way to do class restrictions and make them still realistic.

I'd still wanna smack him with his own helmet though lol

For sure, I'd sling a few fire balls in his direction for being a being utterly infuriating!

Can any of you think of a piece of dialogue from either DA:O or DA2 that I could use for the opening of my Cullen fan video? Lemme describe the opening sequence to you to give you some perspective:

The opening scene begins just after Hawke 'n' co have left the area after killing Meredith. Cullen (head-swapped with Hawke) is standing over Meredith's red lyrium corpse sizzling away in the Gallows courtyard. The scene pans in on him, and from the expression on his face you can tell that he knows that this is the beginning of something bad. The scene then cuts to that fancy art depicting the Gallows/Chantry falling (as shown during the ending sequence in DA2 that Varric narates) (it's during this part that I need some poignant dialogue to add in). A new scene then flashes up of Cullen slowly opening his eyes looking visibly worried and battle weary, he looks over to his desk full of paperwork.

Aaaaaand that's all I've got so far.

You'll spend 80% of your time staring at the pretties, and the remaining 20% raging at ridiculous/trolling/hateful posts... occasionally those percentages will switch around, lol.

Oh, it sounds great so far. Thinking about this and knowing the dev diaries are coming soon is making me really pumped for Inquisition.

As for what you asked for, I think Greg Ellis has been in a lot of games. Maybe use quotes from his other characters? He's all over Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning.

Maybe mix in some of his quotes from when you side with the Templars. Kind of like he's having flashbacks of what he said before and is regretting his decision of killing Meredith or something along those lines.

I'm sorry if this didn't help. D: I'm not good with making videos and stuff.

Naw, I need it to be a line of dialogue (by any character, except Meredith) that could potentially relate to DAI's storyline, or that could be applied to Cullen's plight.

I think a thread in the Mass Effect forums once got closed down due to people spamming it full of gifs, lol. Apparently it slows the forum down or crashes peoples computers, or something.

Hmm... maybe Flemeth's classic "standing on the precipice of change" quote. Or Morrigan's "some men fear change and will fight it with every fibre of their being" quote. Or perhaps Sandal's "one day the magic will come back" quote.

Yeah, I was thinking about Flemeth's Precipice of change quote, although I'm not sure I can manipulate the scenes from DA2 etc to clearly depict that these are the events that happened to Cullen leading up to him leaving Kirkwall to show up in DAI.

I wish I could be of more help. I just don't have a lot of experience when it comes to video making.

But what you have sounds awesome so far. Can't wait to see the finished product. :D

Oh, romance pondering!

...And I'm torn! On one hand I think it's pretty realistic to possibly have racial restrictions, because, when it comes down to it, the races in Dragon Age involve completely different structures of humanoid. So I can see why a dwarf wouldn't like a 'lanky human/elf' or why a qunari would find drawfs/humans/elves rather ridiculously petite. So I can see how that would lead to restrictions; at the same time, though, I would sulk a little if I couldn't, for instance, romance Iron Bull if he's an option with a human.

...I... I find height differences adorable, okay?

Well we're all human here, and we all pretty much find all the races attractive. Many people find Varric or Sten or Fenris attractive. *shrugs*

And in real life, little people form relationships with normal-sized people. People of different sizes, shapes, and colors still manage to fall in love.

I think it really depends on the character his/herself. I mean, when it comes to Cullen his strong belief in the Chantry system, the years of brainwashing he's had within the Templar Order, teamed up with his torture and his very real fear of mages power and the possibility that in his mind any mage could become possessed at any moment would be a legit reason for him not to become romantically involved with a mage. That's not to say he wouldn't find one attractive, or even fall in love with one (after all, he has done in the past) BUT, I could totally see him not being able to physically allow himself to do so due to the reasons I mentioned above.

I could see this. It's not my preferred character direction. (I think Cullen's character arc would be more complete and more powerful if he actually had to come to terms with the bad possibilities and still learn to see the mage's inherent personhood, rather than just avoiding the whole issue with a flat-out "nope.") It would make sense for the character, though.

I could also see him being unwilling to be involved in a romance with a mage if he was still an active Templar, because the power dynamic makes the whole thing potentially quite inappropriate. I could see someone with a strong sense of honor feeling like he'd be taking advantage of the other person if he was in a sense in charge of them but also sleeping with them. For a former Templar that wouldn't be an issue, but if Cullen is currently with the Order, it might throw an obstacle in the way.

As I said, I hope that's not the case because my first choice (assuming the options are available) would be to romance Cullen with a mage. If it's not possible, though, I think the reasons why would be understandable.

Yes! Same! I wouldn't pair a qunari with a dwarf, but I would all the other combinations. Even with the...potentially damaging effects of an elf 'romancing' a male qunari...

I really hoped I was wrong with this but sadly, I am not.

I have noticed over the past few weeks this thread has turned extremely cliquish. It also has become apparent that people outside the "inner circle" who comment and ask questions are pretty much ignored (I found it particularly disheartening that a simple question I asked over 3 hours ago didn't warrant a single reply in the three full pages afterward). On the other hand, it's not too far from the truth that anyone from the "in" group could cough and be inundated with numerous "OMGareyousickhopeyougetbettersoon!" posts.

Hey, it is what it is.  And since I'm not one of the chosen few there's really no point in coming in here anymore.  Maybe if I spent more time here it wouldn't have been an issue. Unfortunately caring for aging parents and enduring a brutal work schedule just doesn't give me that luxury anymore. I come in and comment when I can but clearly it's not enough.

That being said, there are a few people I'd like to thank for their conduct in this forum during the time I was here. There are also a few who I'd not like to thank. But seeing as everyone pretty much knows who they are I won't name names.

Take care, have fun and thanks for all the Cullen.
