And, Lola, ag99 and elfman, thanks for your perspectives, as well. Knowing just how to seed the conversation so it keeps going is a challenge, particularly when we've discussed so many Culleny things already ad nauseum. So in some sense, I think what keeps it new for me are the people and sharing the excitement for Cullen and for the game.

I'm amazed the thread has stayed so active for so long, especially during the last year and a half when we were starved of any real news until the final few months of 2013. Conversation should get easier now that they've started working on these dev diaries and preparing themselves for DAI's marketing. My guess is that things will really start amping up around April when the convention season kicks off.

I would love to make some kind of helpful suggestion, but, as one of the fliters, I can't say I see much of a problem, at least when I drop by and randomly bombard everyone with discussion/ideas/opinions/comments.

Hmm, hmm...

I might have caused a couple of the more argumentative sounding discussions, but I think that's more on my head than anyone else's. I'm not that great at using the words and can sometimes come across as more brusque than I mean to. I want to blame the aspergers but I imagine that sounds like a cop out.

And that didn't really say what I MEANT to say. Woops. What I meant was that I haven't come across anyone being particularly nasty? There have been times where I might have 'read' something as a bit harsher than it was meant, but I blame the medium for that more than the poster. Without smiley spams and jokes, I get paranoid that I'm peeving people off.

Edit: that unicorn gif, man. I need to add it to my gif collection.

Yeah, that's the problem with the written word it's not always easy to tell the tone in which someone is talking. I know sometimes I've come across as a bit harsh or blunt when it wasn't supposed to.

Case in point, I just got up (barely, flopping out of bed while moaning and wishing I had just 5 more minutes), and I'm late and in a rush to hit the shower and head to my bro-in-law's house to watch a soccer game (am I a ManU fan or a Chelsea fan? You decide!), so I can't comment adequately on any of this. I'll only say I love this thread and I'm sorry if any of MY actions ever caused someone to feel hurt. I like this thread because everyone is kind and very mature, and best of all, you all respect my creepy elf fetish. THAT IS ALL.

I love that gif! *off to the shower*

Yeah, online discussion can  be tough to get your real meaning across. But I'd like to think that anything really hurtful gets addressed. Thanks for your thoughts! <3

Whether she does or not, this is probably an opportunity for us.

So, these kinds of accusation have been flung around before, and I'd like to engage everyone in a discussion of their expectations for a forum like this. I think given how conversational it gets, it's easy to forget that we're just a random group of  people here for our own interests. All with crazy schedules, families, friends, jobs, school, what have you.  While I like to self-style myself as the sheriff around these parts when discussions  head into divisive territory, I am not in fact a moderator here, nor is any of us. And, no one is on 24/7.

Now something I like about the Cullen thread, besides Cullen, and why I've stayed, is that this was one of the only threads on BSN where folks talked back to me. Most threads here are just a litany of people posting a comment and no one else noticing. When there are back and forth discussions, more often than not it's to tell someone they're wrong/stupid/whatever. But usually that doesn't happen here. Folks SEE each other and talk. Now, not always, because it is basically a bulletin board sitting out in cyberspace and folks stop by as they can, contribute a few posts, and then go back to their busy lives. None of us is perfect. We do, however, try our best to be a community, which is why we've lasted this long.

But it seems it still fails sometimes. So what can we do differently? With no one moderator, should we enjoin everyone to work harder to enfranchise everyone who stops by? Should we stop being so conversational so no one feels left out? Should we abandon ship, no pun intended, and let the DA2 character threads finally die their long deserved death?

I actually like how things are in this thread, for the most part. Things get crazy once in a while, sure. I think we're all mature enough to take a breather and realize this is can be an imperfect format (as Dirgegun said). I enjoy this thread because it's relatively organic and just flows. It's got character. My concern would be that too many 'regulations' (for lack of a better word) would stunt the overall personality and vibe here. I don't see cliques. I don't see anyone intentionally being excluded from conversations. No one is being singled out. In fact, we try very hard to welcome new comers and involve everyone.

That being said, if someone is feeling left out then it would be up to the individual to make their feelings known. For example :" Hey guys, I asked a question a few pages back and I was actually hoping to get some feedback!" rather than "Screw you, I'm taking my toys and going home!". Or for a real example, R2 just bumped her post. It's easy and no one got hurt.

This is a happy place. Weird but happy. My vote is to keep it as is as long as we can and let water find it's own level.

Well, here are my 2 cents.

I like this thread and I used to lurk here a long time before posting something.

I can understand MageTarot a bit in the sense that post of mine have gone unanswered or ignored (be it on purpose or not, doesn't really matter ... seeing as I don't know that) and then just couple hours later you have random Person ask a question and they get several responses. I just chalk it up to either me being silly and people not getting my sense of humor or it just being overlooked, even though I don't quiet believe "overlooked", this thread doesn't move fast enough for that (not yet at least, when companions are announced or any other news worthy stuff comes out it gets moving)

I don't get hurt or upset by it, I realize that people know some people better than others and just flow better with them. I still come back pretty much every day and at least skim the pages that it has moved, if I have something to add I do; if not I'll come back later. This thready is pretty welcoming and calm and thats why I keep coming back (and because I haven't been kicked out yet .... ^_^)

I kind of  feel the way at times, that maybe some of my posts dont make sense to ppl or they are just silly, but  oh well doesnt really bother me that much  as I have gotten responses before weather  there were to some silly questions or not. And yea some of us who are  farely new to the thread might  get  "overlooked" someties  because there are quite of few veterans here who have been maintaining this thread longer then others, and I can understand them being more confortable talking to someone they knew for a while .

All good points, chantirose and ag99. In all fairness, no matter how fast it moves, things do get overlooked, more often when they fall at the bottom of a page, for example, which also happens to me. I think sometimes also, at least in my case, I just don't have a response to some posts. But I think it's good for us to put this issue out in the open and try to be better about things slipping through the cracks.

I don't think it's necessarily the case that some of us feel more comfortable replying to certain people than others, I think often it's down to time zones and the repetition surrounding some of the questions asked.

By now (based on what we know so far) we've probably covered every eventuality and theory surrounding both Cullen and DA/DAI in general and in depth, so there isn't really anything left to talk about that hasn't already been covered. Even with the latest DAI stuff the devs have pretty much just repeated the same details over and over again, throwing in the odd tidbit of new info on occasion to keep things fresh, which leaves little for us to talk about that we haven't already picked apart and dissected.

I think in a lot of cases, we just leave it for someone else to answer the question in the hope that one of the others will inject a new perspective, rather than us just re-answering... or at least, I know I do that anyway.

Yeah, that's another good reason why I sometimes just don't have a response. Because I'm a broken record. LOL

Yea the last post are more likely  to get overlooked, but I must confess as well, that depending on the subject of the conversation a lot of the times I dont have anything to say about it, like whenever there was that influx of news and you guys were speculating stuff.
I enjoy reading all the awesomeness, I just didnt know what else to add to that, seeing as  personally Im not very good with speculating and even if I do want to say something I just dont want to sound silly (even tho I still do at times lol) so I rather just not say anything at all :P That or try to change the subject into something that I can personally talk about, Im not very good with words as I'm sure you guys have noticed by now  so If my posts dont make sense to you guys or maybe come off as rude and whatnot pls let me know

I understand you guys as well since I know, that you guys disect every bit of info there is, and its undersandable that you dont want to repeat yourselfs over and over, since that  *can* get somewhat "annoying"?

But to the same token I guess some ppl repeat questions just so we can have something to talk about even if we have discuss it before be it because of lack of info or just boredom

Oh, don't get me wrong, I do enjoy going over some old topics in light of what little new information we get about DAI but I like to hear other peoples take on it, too. Plus, we have new people that are part of this thread now that may not have been around the first few times we discussed a topic, so I like to give them to opportunity to put their views across first in the hopes that they differ from mine, thus injecting new life into an old topic... of course, at the moment I don't think there's much of anything left to have a fresh opinion or perspective on, which is where I think we run into problems.

That is true, fresh views on certain things are always welcome. But hopefully with the dev diaries coming out soon things will get back on track   and thread will be less  "stressful" of the lack of info...
