Oooh, what video, what have I missed?

Also, has there been any news as to when the developer diary, (if that's what it's called), will be released? I'm so excited for it!

For what its worth...I NEVER thought this
thread is cliquish.

I think the only thing I won't probably discuss here
is Origins since alot of you guys seem to hate it with a passion so if I
have anything to talk about it will only be about DA2 and Inquisition related. :wizard:

Oh, it's just a Cullen fan video I'm making, lol.

No more news on the dev diary beyond them tweeting that they'll recieve a copy in the next few weeks and plan to release them gradually.

I dont think that talking about a game would make ppl unconfortable, for example DA2  wasnt my favorite game but I dont mind talking about it at all I'm actually doing another playthrough of origins atm (bored) lol

There is always a chance that you'll make "someone" uncomfortable when you post something. That's just how it is, everyone has different opinions and tastes. I wouldn't worry too much about it unless it's something really racist/sexist w/e.

I liked Origins, it is just hard for me to go back and play it now after playing DA2 and I just can't stand the voiceless PC anymore ... I just can't.

I must admit since DA2 had a voiced character I kind of prefer that too over a voiceless one in DAO, but it is what it is, both games had pros and cons, I still enjoyed playing them tho

Same here! I mean, I love DA:O to bits, but part of the reason I can't play through it anymore is not just because I've played it sooooo many times now, but also because I find it really hard to play a voiceless PC in a BioWare game. It just doesn't feel right now that I'm used to DA2 and the ME trilogy having fully voiced protagonists, so to go back to DA:O and watch my Warden being so unresponsive both with the lack of voice and lack of facial expression feels really jarring.

I guess I just prefer my protagonist to be as full of life and personality as the companions and npcs around him/her.

:o
I love Origins with a passion...

And I agree about the voiced protag, I far prefer that over a silent one.

I just... Can't really get into it, ya know? I like all my Wardens. but they never truly felt like their own character.

I've been going through Persona 4 again recently and I wish the protag there also had a voice beyind battle cries and grunting too. (also wish for gender selection but that's a whole other story)

I will have to respectfully disagree. I love DA2 and DAO equally but I will NEVER be able to think of my Wardens as lifeless.  I created a personality for each othem and heard their voice in my mind. And they all have a special place in my heart.

That said I NEVER had any issues with Hawke and voiced characters. ALL of my Hawkes have a special place in my heart as well. :wizard:

And you are entitled to that opinion. It just doesnt bother me. I played recently when recovering from a broken rib and it did not phase me. I went on from DA0 to DA2 in my recovery and had fun too. :wizard:

Oh, don't get me wrong, I don't mean lifeless as in devoid of personality or anything. I just find it really hard to watch a conversation or situation play out and see little to no expression on her/his face. I just like that in DA2 Hawke actively interacted with everything around him/her because he/she had a voice and could respond accordingly.

I really hoped I was wrong with this but sadly, I am not.

I have noticed over the past few weeks this thread has turned extremely cliquish. It also has become apparent that people outside the "inner circle" who comment and ask questions are pretty much ignored (I found it particularly disheartening that a simple question I asked over 3 hours ago didn't warrant a single reply in the three full pages afterward). On the other hand, it's not too far from the truth that anyone from the "in" group could cough and be inundated with numerous "OMGareyousickhopeyougetbettersoon!" posts.

Hey, it is what it is.  And since I'm not one of the chosen few there's really no point in coming in here anymore.  Maybe if I spent more time here it wouldn't have been an issue. Unfortunately caring for aging parents and enduring a brutal work schedule just doesn't give me that luxury anymore. I come in and comment when I can but clearly it's not enough.

That being said, there are a few people I'd like to thank for their conduct in this forum during the time I was here. There are also a few who I'd not like to thank. But seeing as everyone pretty much knows who they are I won't name names.

Take care, have fun and thanks for all the Cullen.

Well, looks like you've got everyone's attention now.

Oh, apparently the devs are going through another crunch time. Don't they usually crunch when they're trying to get something out ready for an announcement or info release?

I envy you for that, honestly. I still play Origins but I usually don't get too far, most of the time to the Fade quest and then I'm done. It's the same with ME1, even though Shepard was always voiced and I love the story and companions, I can't get myself to get past a certain point before I quit. So when I want to get the ME experience I play ME3 and when I want DA I play DA2. But like I said before I still love/like the earlier games very much and I love talking about them.

I can see where you coming from tho,  I know that most ppl  who love their voiceless protagonist felt more like it was THEIR character and that they can take whatever decision THEY liked , unlike  DA2 where the convo options where kind of set in stone and you only had 3 options, I do agree that DAO gave more options as to define your character as YOU wanted rather then be "restricted" to a couple of lines, that said I kind of wish DAI would have Origins convo optios as well as be voiced, that way we could kind of get the "best of both worlds"
