Hell I felt bad killing Anders, I just don't have it in me to kill off companions, especially not Alistair!

Ah, I gotta still root for the happy ending. I can't see it being all doom and gloom for romance with him. Afterall, not every one will play a mage, so I'm hopeful it won't have to be so tragic. Boy needs his happy ending. And, I'm gonna give it to him, by hook or by crook... ;)

Yeah, I'd prefer a happy ending, but that would be quite a cool dramatic ending for a Mage IF we were able to either win him back in the end or be able to have a successful relationship with him as a warrior or rogue class.

Not gonna lie though, I'm expecting DG 'no' co pulling a Mass Effect 3 stunt and start killing people off in dramatic style. Don't be surprised if we have to pick to save one companion over another, or we're not able to save certain companions or ex companions.

Yeah, because it went over so well in ME3...

I've got a feeling that I'm going to wait a bit before buying DA3. If they decide to go for the drama and kill off the companions, I'm probably not going to buy it. I don't mind too much if there *is* a choice between kill X and kill Y because odds are, I will have a preference, but if it's on rails, I've got better things to spend money on.

I dunno, I mean certain deaths that happened in ME3 were very well done and made a lot of sense, even though it was heartbreaking. But killing off Shepard/leaving it to speculation was ridiculous and the option to see him/her reunite with the crew and love interest (even just as a slider) should have been in there.

The thing about killing past and present companions in DA3, it wouldn't have the same effect as it did with Mass Effect, and I'd feel like maybe they'd just be trying to see if they can compete with the ME team in the drama/heartbreak stakes. To be honest, I'm terrified they're gonna kill off Alistair and/or Cullen or my Warden/Hawke.

To be honest, I don't care one lick if they kill off my Hawke. However, if they have Alistair and Cullen dangling off a cliff and you can only save one I might have a coronary.

Secretly, I'm still up for my Warden and Hawke to show up as corpses. What's wrong with me? Do I have the taint? lol

I wouldn't mind so much but I don't wanna seperate my Warden and Alistair. If they are to die then it should be together. But I'd prefer them to both stay alive.

I'd rather not have to kill off my Hawke. He and Anders were off happily leading the revolution or whatever they got up to, and I'd like to think they were happy, after everything they went through together.

My feelings about the Warden are less well-defined. Yeah, I liked her well enough, but I formed a stronger attachment to Hawke, believe it or not. No idea why. Alistair, on the other hand... I would rage if I had to kill him.

Don't worry, the comics will do that.

Oh man, you think so? Gosh, all I can imagine is fan rage if that happens "off screen"... i.e. not in game. *gulp* I am, on the other hand, expecting him to find Maric and then for dear old dad to die.

DG said someone will die. It probably will be Maric, but I bring up the possibility of Alistair's death to torture you guys.

Cuz I'm evil.

LOL that would be even worse, I mean if they insist on killing someone then I'd prefer to see it in-game. I reckon it'll be Sten anyway.

Oh gawd, check out this tweet from Mary Kirby:

BioMaryKirby: "Dialogue review achievement unlocked: Made Luke Sad. #AllTheAchievementPointsEver #WritersPit"

aimoahmed: "Were delicious tears feasted upon?"

BioMaryKirby: "It was more of an appetizer than a feast. We'll hope the feast comes later when the fans get to the conversation..."

aimoahmed: "@aimoahmed: "Is it wrong that I'm getting a chill up my spine reading that? #ForItWillBeMyTearsToo"

SherylChee: "I KNOW RIGHT. You hit him right in the FEELS."

... Oh man, now I'm getting worried and excited all at once. Dammit, I hate the not knowing part!!

Here's a more lighthearted tweet by Sheryl Chee:

SherylChee: "It's a fantasy game. You can't be afraid of the word 'castle.'" #WritersPit

Yay for castles!

Aaaand a curious tweet by Mr. Gaider:

DavidGaider: "Luke: "******-ectomy successful!" Me: "I'm going to tweet that." #WritersPit"

I wonder what that means, someone asked of that means they are removing same sex romances, to which he clarified that they had no intention of removing them, thankfully!

It probably means that somebody put in a line where a male character would make an unsolicited pass at the protag.

Or one of the Orlesians was a tad too campy to be taken seriously? LOL!

You know this teasing of the game is Brilliant Advertising! A great and cheap way to build up hype for the game

Definitely, especially along side giving us questions every month to give our input... Of course if the game turns out badly then it'll cause an even bigger uproar, but I'm sure it'll be fine. Especially if it will be a 2014 release.

... Man, 2014 feels like ages away! It's weird, my logical side wants them to take as long as needed to make an amazing game, but at the same time I desperately want to play it asap, especially when they're teasing us with tweets about in-game "heartbreaking" conversations and stuff. I think the fact that they're not even releasing anymore concept art or details yet makes it harder. If they'd just give us something small to speculate over, like more concept art or the name of our new protagonist then at least that would give us something new to talk about.

... And I know for a fact that if that script gets leaked like the ME3 one was, I won't be able to stop myself from reading it to see who the companions will be and who dies lol.

Also am I the only one who dreads each new comic and/or novel they bring out incase they kill off one of our favourite past companions or NPC's? Actually, if I'm honest, in a way I kinda dread DA3 too because you never know what horrible, sneaky trick they're going to pull (if Mary Kirby's tweet is anything to go by then it's already in motion) and now even more so since they announced that the Warden and Hawke have disappeared.

If they kill of Alistair, I will be a very very sad fangirl. But I'm pretty sure they won't, since he's so popular.

But if they do feel the need to do it, they better go down fighting or in a blaze of glory. One thing ME3 did very well was handling the character death - and while I was sad, I wasn't angry. THAT is damn good writing.

@Lola. They killed off Wynn in Asunder, didn't they? Well, her death made sense, giving that she was already kinda dead to begin with. I kinda doubt they will kill off any of the popular characters that way. Bioware might not what to have to deal with another wave of Internet Backlash like they did with the vanilla ME3 endings.

This is Bioware, we're talking about. Thane was a very popular LI for Femshep, and they still killed him off.

Oooh I dunno about that. :innocent: I think as long as it's not someone they're planning on actively using or featuring in the next game they won't have a problem shafting them. As someone else mentioned they killed Thane. Wynne was fairly popular too as well wasn't she?
