Now I'm going to have to read back until I find the context.
Hmm, I don't recall him saying anything about riding dragons, but it could very well be. All I remember was a tweet about how the dragons aren't sentient/don't talk/can't remember exact phrase except that they're supposed to be beasts.LolaLei wrote...
Didn't DG say something about not having dragon pets/mounts because he didn't like the idea, or whatever?

You know I had a weird thought after reading a thread on dragon mounts. What if our Inquisitor fulfills some ancient prophecy. Maybe it has something to do with Dragons given all the motifs.
It would also explain why characters of different races where able to become the Inquisitor. It might be a little lame, but it could work maybe. What do you all think?
sorry if this has been brought up before.

Have you looked at those in game screen shots of Sassy pimp hat Inquisitor? Maybe those can give you a few more clues. The hat ended up looking a little different to me than I'd imagined from that image you posted from Cameron interview thingie.ag99 wrote...
Thank you guys for the input I really appreciate it, and Scr0ll yea the inside of the coat does look like it has some sort of fur lining or something, thanx once again guys
On the flappy bits between his legs, I honestly thought it was more like linen or something rough and cloth-like, like that.

Good luck! Agree that his jacket itself, along with the hat, looked like weathered leather. If you can zoom way in on the screenshot it might tell you more. I'm still in awe of the zoom in on Inquisitor from the demo and that the brocade or embossed leather or whatever in his jacket had little Inquisition eyes. (!!!)ag99 wrote...

Ah good point R2, I went to the DA website to look at the screen shot but the jacket looks pretty dark and I still can make out what type of material that is, oh well I suppose I will go with leather or some sort of a heavy cloth, and yea the flappy thing does look a bit linen like, I will see what I can do and see how things turn out.
Thank you for the suggestion
Aha! "apex predator" Good memory! Haven't found DG's tweet yet, but it looks like MLaw also addressed this in GameInformer. Mike Laidlaw says:PhantomGinger wrote...
He did indeed say that, but I also remember him adding "...as far as everyone knows" or something akin to that. I could be remembering wrong - however, I do enjoy this take on dragons as apex predators.
Though perhaps the dragon was trained to not attack Alistair or anyone within his bloodline. Magic can most likely influence any creature for a period of time as well. (I bought the comics on sale last night and read them all. XD)
Apart from what they represent, an influx of dragons presents another problem. Unlike the classic Dungeons & Dragons versions of the beasts – intelligent, magically gifted – the dragons of Thedas don’t have nuanced personalities or complex motivations. They are hunters, first and foremost. “Our dragons are basically apex predators,” Laidlaw says. “They are about as intelligent a very smart dog. We’ve compared them to the mabari [hounds].”

I thought the notion of dragon riding was obliquely referenced by Matt Rhodes himself, like in the tags or something, but looking again I see I'm misremembering. However, between "Leap" and "Dragon Tamer" it's awfully suggestive!!
"DA:I - Leap"
"DA:I - Dragon Tamer"

OOOOOOOO nice find!!!! that looks pretty cool. I doubt that I will be able to make such a pattern but I will give it a try...as it is, im gonna have kind of a hard time making the eye it self on the chest plate let alone making tiny ones and with additional stuff around it:P

He's contradicting himself though. Mabari are not "very smart dogs." They are FREAKISHLY SUPER smart. You talk to them in complete sentences and they understand you perfectly.

Ag99: another thought. Given how many versions of the inquisitor we saw in that vid, and then with Holly Conrad's Bioware-blessed version, the demo version, the pimp hat screenshots, I bet you couLd pick any material you thought looked "right" and it would look great.

You know, I was bored for some reason, and was looking up the quotes that Sandal says about the sky splitting and the one where Flemeth talks about the leap and then Morrigans new quote.
Anyways, just speculating here.
"One day the magic will come back - all of it. Everyone will be just like they were. The shadows will part and the skies will open wide. When he rises, everyone will see."
So obviously, there's a tear in the veil. We saw one in the sky. There's that part. The magic will come back, all of it. That leads me to think that mages will have either more powers. That maybe Tervinter will be on the attack. Or that all of the demons and spirits are really suppose to be part of Thedas...hmmm.
But then there's the he will rise part. The Maker? Maybe he's not who we've been told he is?
So this 'prophecy' really matches up with Flemeth's speech and Morrigans. I know this has been debated before, but it's bugging the crap out of me lol.
Maybe Templars get some sort of 'magical' abilities because maybe everyone's suppose to have it. And aren't the Dragons suppose to be some form of Old Gods?
Yeah. It's during the Exploring the World of Dragon Age: Inquisition Game Informer video.VampOrchid wrote...
Regarding mounts...wasn't Inquisitor riding a horse in one of the vids at some point?

Yes. And a very pre-alpha horse it was.
