I'm the same as here, motomotogirl/tumblr.com.

I don't reblog much so I won't clog up your dash. Mostly reblog funny comics, cats, and lovely anime boys.

Hello! :) I thought people in this thread might be interested in this; it's a video of the Japanese version of Enemies Among Us (and some other things tossed in).

D'awwww, Cullen sounds so honourable! <3

Female Hawke's VO sounds spot on!

Ooooh, what attractive voices the Japanese cast have. *u*

Fenris and Anders are perfect. And I love Carver and female!Hawke~

I think the only one that feels a little off to me is Cullen's. I probably would have picked a slightly lighter voice for him to better match Greg Ellis, personally. I do love that voice, though. Just not for Cullen, I don't think? Varric's voice feels a little off to me for Varric too. *scratches chin thoughtfully, head tilt*

Edit: Sorta taking back what I said about Cullen's Japanese voice. He did fit quite well at the very end! His aggressive voice just doesn't quite suit him as much as Greg Ellis' aggressive voice does. And Greg is better at the adorkable awkwardness concerning the brothel.

They done a bunch of little YouTube videos about each character too, introducing each of them in a mini-trailer style.

When I read that, my immediate thought was that they just finished recording a bunch of dev diaries for upcoming promotionals, and I actually said "Sweeeeeeet!" aloud at work. Fortunately, I've got an office now instead of a cubicle, so it didn't look like some kind of bizarre gopher farm, but the people in the corridor now think I'm insane.

And then I thought about it for a moment and realized that you were talking about DAO, not DAI, but it wasn't much of a letdown. Whatever they show us in the diaries will be cool, even if it's too soon to learn who the companions are.

Seriously, those upcoming dev diaries are the only thing keeping me sane at this point. I'm desperate for news.

How do you guys stand it!!!!! The mere mention of the dev diaries drives me nuts with anticipation?!? Will it be like DA2 s Making Of videos or more like an interview? Will there be (new) gameplay footage or recycled E3/Pax stuff? So much I want. ....*dies*

On an off topic subject I'm taking fundamentals of Chemistry this semester and whenever I'm in the class I think of you Berelinde. Same goes for MMG whenever I'm in English lol

Just so I can get in on the what if Cullen (in my case Cassandra) weren't an LI who would I choose? It's tough I mean arguably you guys have a few more options then I do this time around. I'd be left with Vivienne and Sera. On the one hand I'm not that interested in romancing Vivienne, but her character fascinates me. On the other hand I'm looking for a bit of variety in my heroes choice of women. I've been almost exclusively going after the "afraid to love" crowd and something tells me that Sera could be different,  but her character synopsis was less than riveting. I guess Sera wins because of variety, but it could have been Vivienne had she had THE ACCENT....you know what I mean. ..

I'm pretty sure there'll be at least one other female companion we just don't know about/don't even have anything to speculate on. We know we'll have nine companions, and three girls to six fellas seems like way too many boys in that lineup.

I'd say that it's almost certain that there are characters in the lineup that we know nothing about. As for the female to male ratio, I'm not going to speculate. On the one hand, 4:5 seems more probable than 3:6, but the ratio in DAO was 3:7, so I dunno.

Ordinarily, I'd be advocating for more female representation in the follower pool, but given the prominent placement of both Leliana and Morrigan, that kinda evens things out. I've got a feeling that even if those two aren't followers, per se, they will be highly involved in the Inquisitor's story. Even if they did go with 3:6, it might feel more like 5:6. As long as I can connect with the characters in a positive way (and as long as there is at least one male LI who appeals to me), I'm not going to get too excited about the exact ratio.

It sounds as if followers can be dismissed at will or never recruited in the first place, if that's the player's pleasure. If this is the case, cool. I only hope they'll do the same thing with Leliana...

Yeah, I'm not too bothered by the ratio at this stage, seeing we really don't know enough about the companions. Just thought 3:6 was quite low in terms of our speculation and the like, but you make an interesting point about Lelianna and Morrigan. If those two are as prominant as it seems like they might be (and that Morrigan, at least, has been strongly hinted at she will be), I imagine it will feel like they're pretty much apart of the group even if they don't actually follow the Inquisitor around.

Ungh. I'm so curious about everyone and everything~

I'm pretty  sure that Leliana isn't a follower, but has been confirmed by a dev that she isn't? Like they did with Morrigan, I mean.

Well, we know for sure that Morrigan is only a npc, since who was it ... (Mark Darrah or Mike Laidlaw) said that she wouldn't be a companion. What I meant was, has anyone officially said that Leliana isn't a follower?

Yeah, I got the impression that Leliana would be an important NPC too, what with her working so closely with Cassandra and the Divine.

I remember that, too. In the same place, they made a mention of "Everyone's favorite Knight-Captain", too.

Yeah, that's the one! It also made me think that perhaps Cullen wouldn't be a companion, simply because they mentioned him with Leliana (who likely won't be a companion again). I mean, if Cullen was a companion then surely they wouldn't have dropped his name in that article?

I'm not sure how much pull Bioware has over what can be said in articles, like maybe they said, "Cullen and Leliana are in the game, but they aren't companions"...  Or if Bioware just shows what they want to be seen and allows the article writer to make his/her own assumptions based on what they've seen or been told. If that's the case, the concept art for the war room which shows the Inquisitor stabbing the table, with a group of people around him, including Cullen and Leliana was up on the wall for the author to see... Maybe it wasn't confirmed to him that they are companions, but he did see based on the concept arts and the leaked survey art that they are in the game in some capacity.

That's true. I mean, they're press not heavy fans like we are, so they could be seeing certain things and jumping to completely the wrong conclusions, lol. Like the whole "fan favourite" Knight Captain, he's by no means a favourite of DA fans in general... hell, a vast majority can't stand the guy!  Controversial would have probably been a more accurate description.

Man, I hope these dev diaries give us a large influx of brand new information, there's only so much rehashing and rewording that can be done with what we've seen so far.

This has always been my feeling, particularly since even the Game Informer articles got some small stuff wrong. That being said, while BW doesn't control what they write, they do control what kinds of information get released. I mean, isn't that what NDAs are all about anyway? So, I can't help but think that there was some tacit agreement in which character names were allowed to be included in those articles.

Perhaps it was done purposely as a little teaser? Kinda like the beardy (possible Grey Warden) and maybe!Sera showing up in the background on the devs computer screens in the IGN dev diary videos last year?

Yeah, this is exactly what I think. I imagine something like the writer asking, "Can I put in a little tease about anyone we've seen today? Iron Bull? Leliana?" And the devs said, "Hmm, not Iron Bull. Leliana, sure. And, hmm... who else would get their panties in a twist?  How about Cullen?" *nods around the table*  (edit: thinking again, with Greg Ellis's slip, we've pretty much assumed this anyway, so there's not much to lose by mentioning him, either, right?)

What are the things you like most from DAO Cullen?

To be honest, he didn't get all that much screentime in DA:O. It's DA2 when he really comes into his own.

From DAO?

Probably how human his reaction is to mages during/after his torture. I can't blame the guy for blowing up.

But like Lola said, there isn't too much more to him in DAO.
