It's okay! Happens to me all the time, lol!
On a side note, I took a short nap, and I ended up dreaming about Varric. It was awesome! In my dream, he was an actual live person, not a cartoonish game character, but he had every detail down pat from DA2 Varric. It seemed so realistic, I could literally smell the leather from his coat. And I must have been a dwarf, too, because in my dream, I was shorter than he was. A very proportionate dwarf.
Sorry that I didn't dream about Cullen, but I'll take Varric as a sub if I have to! lol

Yes, and it was freaking AH-MAZE-EENG!! The softest chest hair ever. Along with the hair on his head. Soft, shiney, and smelled faintly of coconut.

Lol why does this guy have 3000 pages here ? Cullen is just a random character he has nothing special. Can someone explain me ?
Because we find him interesting. Shock, horror. Y'know, just like how you've probably liked a character or person that other people aren't keen on. <_<
Sure, I like Alistair, I like Merril, I like Leliana, I like Varic etc, but they have a lot of character development, Cullen is just another boring NPC without any devlopment at al (in DAO he's just a random Templar who shi.... his pants, and in DA2 he's just another random Templar and Meredith's dog, whoaoo what a great character), he absolutely not deserves all those pages here.
It's like someone says "hey Thrask is so awesome let's make 3000 pages about him here, hey I want Thrask as a LI in DA3" or "hey the Mabari Master in Ostagar is so awesome, yop 3000 pages and need him as a companion in DA2". Well Cullen it's exactly the same thing.
When I see this thread I want to laugh, when I see things like that I always think "this is why BSN is so wrong, people on this forum are so crazy"
So you like a character that was distinctly designed for you to like them....bravo, there's nothing wrong with that despite what my tone may suggest. But keep in mind that Cullen isn't the first character in a franchise to garner a following who was a one off, hell he's not even the first within Dragon Age. There is Connor, Jowan, Charade, Merrill (who had the exact same amount of screen time, maybe even less than Cullen in her first appearance) and several others who have dedicated fans.
The biggest difference is that we have a thread and a half dozen dedicated posters who are warm and welcoming enough to allow discussion and some great people show up everyday adding to an awesome and tolerant atmosphere. Do we disagree and fight? Sure. Are feelings occasionally hurt? Yep, but we apologize, we forgive, we try to improve and we MOVE THE **** ON!
Some posters here came in not too particularly excited about Cullen either, myself included, but the excitement these ladies and gentlemen had for him interested me enough to find out for myself and I learned that he started off as a man of faith with an optomistic outlook, some might call naive on his duty and the relationship between mages and non-mages. He was a kid who was faced with the nightmares older templars warned him of, the worst hells we probably can't even imagine. He lived through that for days or even weeks and like a human being he hated the people he held responsible, the people he thought he protected, mages. He wanted them dead, but when he wasn't pleased he was sent away. In Kirkwall his hate was fanned, encouraged even. He found like minded souls and rose high quickly. Over the years as the horror of the Circle grew distant he began to see the corruption within his own ranks, but still he hoped for the best, that his Order stood for the right and just cause. Then once again he saw the corruption of mages, but he also saw that the Circle Mages were innocent. Did that stop the slaughter? No. But Hawke didn't either. Did he turn too late? Possibly, but like Hawke I love the character because he tried. DA2 was about extremes and fighting fate even if you don't succeed, you made the attempt.
To me Cullen has shown layers and layers of development, if he doesn't to you, that's fine, but like analyzing a poem we don't all come to the same conclusion. I think he shows a lot of potential as a companion possibly even more than my most anticipated follower Cassandra.
Finally yes...he is an NPC as was Merrill in Origins and as I'm guessing you're new hear I'll tell you a secret about Merrill...*whispers* she had a thread just like this one before Dragon Age 2 came out.
Who's awesome and an outright doll~? This guy!

That is awesome! I say we add copy and paste this and have it as a standard reply for every future person that comes in and asks "Why do you like Cullen?"

Oh my gosh! Listen to this score Trevor Morris created called "Moonlight"! If we get stuff like this then I'll be bawling my ****ing eyes out through the whole thing. Man, it's giving me goosebumps!:
That is my FAVORITE piece by him! I am so happy he's the composer! I think I'm going to cry. XD

I've been harping on about ambiance in games for years and how the DA games always felt kinda lacking when it came to things like sound effects of (for example) waves lapping against the stone walls in Kirkwall's docks etc. With the devs talking about how they've created all sorts of subtle sound effects from creaking trees to the different clanking of armor based on material etc, teamed up with Trevor Morris' musical ability and I truly think we're in for a real eargasm!
Don't get me wrong, I liked Inon Zur's stuff but for a game like DAI we're gonna need something epic!

It's a beautiful piece, I could imagine something like that fitting quite nicely into DAI for romance or heartbreaking scene. Oh gawd, I'm so fecking excited!!!!

Agreed! They've picked an amazing composer. I'm chuffed to bits with their choice!
