PizzaTheHutt: Yeah that annoyed me too. I mean, in DA2 the only person who could wear all the different outfits and armor was the protagonist because all the companions have their own unique style, so all the clothing items should be exclusive only to your character.

I was looking at the hairstyles in the SWTOR mmo and that has better hairstyles than DA2 lol. Surely it can't be that difficult to give us nicer hair? If they want to avoid clipping then they could at least give us some decent up styles.

Agree, love the SWTOR hairstyles. They were pretty sweet and allowed lots of up options for not clipping your armor. I still liked some of those in DA2, but it was kind of bothersome that I saw the same people in so many places, including myself. Like, my second character ended up looking just like Norah at the Hanged Man. The first time I saw her walk by that playthrough I thought it was some kind of joke on purpose for her to look like me.

Some flashy ones, some practical ones and perhaps a unisex one or two would be nice. I'd also like to see some more variety altogether! Perhaps some hip holster bags too! Stylish yet practical(maker's breath I'm starting to ramble again)

No worries! I've thought about the same things... like pockets! Where do they keep their stuff?? Some manpurses and the like would be great! ;)

Agreed! I find myself getting lonely in Skyrim with no one to really "talk" to. (I know that sounds weird)

Have you seen this hoarding item? I laughed pretty good on this:

I suppose graphics wise adding a duffel bag would have been too difficult?  Where do the characters store their stuff though?!

Okay, I have a question for you guys and it's kind of hard to explain.

First my question was going to be "Do you think the Fmage in Origins was Cullens first crush, or do you think he had crushes on other mages/templars/girls from his past?"

But then I realized -- there are TWO potential female mages in origins - Surana and Amell. But when you play through the game a few times, you realize that each origin character exists in every playthrough even if you choose not to play as them -- they just sort of die. Your choice to play as one origin influences Duncan's decision to recruit there, and you become a Grey Warden. If you choose not to play as a Cousland, Highever is still attacked and that character is killed because there's no Duncan to help him/her escape. If you choose not to play as an Aeducan, that character dies in the Deep Roads and you hear his/her tragic story when you visit Orzammar later. You'll also find the dwarven commoner's body in Jarvia's hideout if you didn't play as him/her. Crazy.

So it's really quite likely that if you play as an Amell mage, the Surana mage is there at the mage tower with you and we just never bump into him/her. Or if you play as a Surana mage, there's an Amell at the tower and he/she just doesn't play a notable part in our origin. And they probably get killed by abominations later. /sad /thanksalotuldredyoujerk

It's likely that one or both could be default male, but since Cullen will probably be bi in the future even if he didn't seem to be in DA:O, maybe he just had a very different way of responding to male attraction. So if Cullen is at the tower with both a Surana mage and an Amell mage, do you think he could have had crushes on both at the same time?

Oooo complicated!

I dunno if Cullen had a crush on anyone else prior to the Mage Warden, I dare say he did but I don't think it was anything as serious as the feelings he had for our character. Kinda like in real life, you can fancy a lot of people but only one or two of them will have that certain something that really holds your interest to the point of love or obsession. Cullen was supposed to be quite young in DA:O and his reaction to your Warden is so naive and inexperienced that it was probably his first time feeling such intense feelings for someone.

As for whether or not he fancied both Amell and Surana, I think it all boils down to which one you choose to play as. I think it's supposed to make you feel special, like it's down to your sparkling personality or the personality you've choosen to role play which is why you're the object of his affections and not the other potential origins character. We're what makes our character "special" if that makes sense?

Does anyone know if he mentions Amell even if you didn't play as her? Because in theory he would've still fancied her or Surana even if you didn't play as one of them lol.

Nope. If the Warden wasn't Amell, he doesn't mention her.  I never got that line til I had to create an Amell import specially.

So, I think I agree with Lola here, that altho those other potential Wardens exist, they only exist as THE Warden in their own particular pocket universe where you the player have chosen that origin. So, I think if you are a female Amell, then the only (current) crush Cullen has is on her, not simultaneously on Surana.

Previous crushes, hmmm.. I wonder. The Amell/Surana crush seems to be a pretty big deal for him, given all the taboos and rules against it. I would have to agree with the guess that this particular crush is bigger than any he's probably experienced. The way everyone talks about it, it doesn't seem like he's the kind to be falling in love every other day.  So I think it's less likely that he had another crush at the tower, tho, like a Chantry sister or another templar or something. What I could see is that, if he actually had a home prior to joining the templars, he could have had a little highschool sweetheart or the like.

Perhaps needless to say, I'm partial to the notion of loving multiple people in different ways, so I think it could be possible that he's had past crushes but prob not at the tower. :P

Does anyone else do that? Try to recreate themselves firstly to see if you can, but mostly so that you can romance a particular character. Both my Warden and Shepard are replicas of myself so I could romance Alistair and Kaidan LOL... And so that I'll be more inclined to pick options that I'd take in real life to see what the outcome would be.

I was able to make an Oblivion self since that was the most complex CC I've ever, ever seen. Four hours with a mirror in one hand and a controller in the other and voila-Elder Scrolls brushyourteeth!

In other games I don't even try it. I have kind of an unusual face due to my extreme American mutt-ness.

Ironically, I could totally pass for a Dragon Age dwarf (which I'll probably never have the opportunity to do again, sadly).

If you doubt me, I will post pictures!

It was really difficult trying to make my Warden look like me with basic vanilla options, so I just got as close as I possibly could lol. I had more success with female Hawke but her voice makes me want to kill, so I opted for the sexiest male Hawke I could make lol. My female Shepard in ME3 looks pretty close to my likeness but not perfect because the vanilla options are limited, my Shepard in ME1 and 2 doesn't really look much like me, for some reason she always ended up looking oriental lol.

Considering that I'm a female who likes to RP male characters, no. That said, even if they were female, I wouldn't make them look like me. Do they make the decisions I would make? Sometimes. Other times, I like to do things I would never consider IRL. For me, video games = escapism.

I make characters that don't look like me too, but if there's a particular companion I like (for example Alistair or Cullen) then I'll make one that looks like me... Well, an ideal version of myself anyway, so she'd be better looking and slimmer etc LOL.

Does anyone ever make a really ridiculous looking character just for a laugh? I usually make the silliest looking character possible when I plan to pick all the horrible options for achievements.

...and when you achieve a certain level of soccer momery, you get "Holy Guilt Trip," unleashing the cone of shame on enemies within 20m who then curl up into the fetal position if they fail their save.  :pinched:
