I am okay with that. I really hated that part of MOTA, not because of the stealth, but because I couldn't bring my LI with me. I figure the Champion of Kirkwall would be allowed to bring his/her beloved to the party. And even if Fenris and Merrill wouldn't be allowed, they could at least have posed as servants.

I suppose I'm torn. I hated the stealth, personally, just because I reeaally sucked at it. But I thought it was a nice addition to game mechanics, in principle, just to have something different.

I am a bit relievd I won't have to suffer through it again... Or feel like a dumb@ss for brute forcing my way through it instead. LOL

It was hard!!! I'm usually good at stealth stuff. Maybe I couldn't wrap my brain around playing DA and having to stealth. So I just wasn't as cautious as usual. Yeah, that's my excuse.

And I think I found another inspirational pic for my inquisitor. Okay, at this point I MAY just be finding and saving hot pics of elves and calling them "inspiration," ahem.

@IlidanDA @BioMarkDarrah @AarynFlynn That's what it says. Whether that's accurate or the author's conjecture will be borne out by time.

what a curious non-answer. I wonder if the devs are constantly frustrated by journalists getting stuff wrong. Of course, they've admitted stuff is wrong in the past. So I wonder if this is more the case Of journalists letting the cat out of the bag.

I'm inclined to believe this is the case (the bolded part).

I'm torn because on the one hand, I like to have the occasional change up in formula, like the stealth in MotA and that blasted hallway, camera, guard obstacle timed puzzle in Citadel for ME3. But at the same time, they're endlessly frustrating, since I'm usually terrible at them and can only succeed through luck and/or punching my way through the problem.

In addition to attractive elfness, it'd be interesting to have an Inquisitor with some kind of missing and/or prosthetic limb.

I've often wondered whether enchanted gauntlets could be used to compensate for mages who've had their hands cut off to prevent casting, as was mentioned in Leliana's Song? We do know that Mages are in some way telekinetic and lyrium and/or magic can be used to animate inanimate objects, like golems, the redcliffe suits of armour and Meredith's statues, so why shouldn't a Power Glove (it's so bad) be feasible?

On a completely seperate note, no Mabaris? But what will the Dwarfquisitor use to pull their chariots?

That maybe he gets recruited into our party because he might  havea stake in what's going on with the Red Templars and the veil tears, and such... Maybe.

Gosh, I want to play this game, already!

I also sucked at the stealth portion of MoTA. At one point, I had to walk away from the game for a bit because I had gotten so frustrated. I'm glad it won't be in Inquisition.

I don't mind that there's no stealth, I'm ****e at it anyway, lol! I just hope that we'll be able to approach some quests using other skills such as charm, persuasion, threaten... Dressing up as *insert faction/whatever here* to infiltrate faction base/Orlesian ball/whatever. I get bored of hacking and slashing my way through every quest.

Exactly! I would LOVE to see disguises being utilized.:wizard:

Yes. I would love to attend an Orlesian ball in Inquisition. I want my Inquisitor to dance the night away with her LI and her friends. Plus, I would love to see how a qunari dances, and what one looks like in a frilly Orlesian dress.

I can imagine depending on your Inquisitor and who you bring with you, that might have potential for some Epic Fails.

Guard: Halt! Intruders!
Elf companion: That didn't last long...
Varric: What do you think gave us away?
Qunari Inquisitor: I have some ideas...
Guard: Your uniforms are all wrong! The Duke's crest is the wrong way around!
Elf companion: What?!
Varric: Not the answer I was expecting...
Qunari Inquisitor: An intelligent guard... that's new?

Wow, I don't remember that from Leliana's Song!  Reallly, you can't do magic without your hands?  How fascinating, in a terribly macabre sort of way. :?

And, um, just need to post this image again for important illustrative reasons. Yup.

On mabaris, I thought they just said no mabari companions. I hope doesn't mean no mabaris at all.

Yeah, it's why Tug offered to put himself on the rack, after the guards threatened to cut off Sketch's hands to stop him casting. Between amputation, tranquility or being shackled like saarebas, what is it with people in Thedas finding new ways to torture Mages?

Dammit Cullen, you need to realise you're on the wrong side in this game!

I'm hoping that we at least get a Mabari kennel in our keeps, if we can't get them as companions. Would be weird not to have them in some form.

Does cutting off their hands actually stop them casting? Or is it something Templars/whoever do because they think it'll stop them? Like people used to cut off thieves hands if they were caught stealing... it doesn't stop them, it just makes stealing a little trickier to do! :lol::lol:

This picture depicts the moments after he tried to attach the prosthetic hand to his stump. That expression on his face is confusion because he can't work out why it didn't look quite right... hey, no one said Elves were smart!

I'd say it's probably a bit of column A and a bit of column B? They can probably still do magic, but it's just harder to use it now. It seems to me, it's mostly about Templars/whoever just finding excuses to be a colossal bag of...

I have the sneaking suspicion that their heavy use of Blood Magic would have made the Veil ludicrously thin in Tevinter, so the Fade Tears are definitely not do them any favours. A post-Apocalyptic Tevinter that'd been completely wrecked by the Fade Tears would be awesome to explore in a future game.

This reminds me of DA2, when you supposed to rescue Feynriel from the Captain in the docks. Before you leave the building you get those guys circling Thrask's daughter, saying "Get her hands. They can't cast without their hands." Then she turns into an abomination and says "You know nothing about Mages!"

"Patrick, what did you do for DA today?" "This one rogue ability looks like it's firing from my junk, so I tried to hit villagers with it."

Oh lord, I was planning on being a rogue for my first playthrough. This sounds exactly like something I would do. :D

Patrick Weekes ‏@PatrickWeekes  "So that you could file a bug and get that fixed?" "Um... sure, I guess? If you don't want to ship that? Because we COULD."

SHIP IT THAT WAY SHIP IT THAT WAY SHIP IT THAT WAY *takes a deep breath*

Seriously, though, that sounds hilarious. :lol:

Poor nugs.

Soooo, does this mean we can hit the villagers? Not saying I want to, just saying. Can we interact w/the environment like that? You know, cuz we couldn't interact w/townspeople like that in DAO and DA2.

Annnd, there are plans for sum type of rogue ability that shoots fire?
