Does cutting off their hands actually stop them casting? Or is it something Templars/whoever do because they think it'll stop them? Like people used to cut off thieves hands if they were caught stealing... it doesn't stop them, it just makes stealing a little trickier to do! :lol:

I don't think it does prevent casting. Ser Thrask's daughter/abomination implied so when she was cornered by Templars or some weird crowd and they tried to cut off her hands. So I think it's just a common misconception, but don't quote me on that, I'm a Qunari lore buff, not a mage buff.

I wonder if they'll go about it like the team who made Kingdom's of Amalur: Reckoning did. You had an option to commit crimes (such as pickpocketing and stealing) while in stealth mode. You also had the option to kill random NPCs, should you wish, by pressing a skull icon while stealth mode is activated. You would be thrown in a dungeon soon after, mind, but you still had the option.

I hope they don't do that, though. I don't like it when people are all like, "RAAGGH, KILL ALL THE THINGS!" when it comes to Dragon Age. I just don't see the appeal of murdering everybody. (I just noticed what I said before implied that I wanted to "kill all the things" but that isn't the case. I just want to shoot that crotch spell at villagers to irritate people. )

I'm not sure. It seems like it. Maybe it's like the combustion grenade, but more powerful and explosive? Or it could be Antivan Fire.

I'm not crazy about these forum changes. I liked being able to scroll down from the Inquisition forum to check and see if anyone was posting "Help me" threads and the like on the other games. That's more difficult now.

Yup! It's all recorded but I haven't had the chance to edit them yet cos works been super rough this week. They've just cut my hours though, so I'll have plenty of time to make lots of videos next Friday.

OK I'm confused. I don't see big sweeping changes at all. All I see is that if I click on "Forum Home" the list is not as tidy, but it all seems to be there. Otherwise, clicking "Dragon Age Franchise" shows me all the DA forums... Did I miss a transition period where it was all frakked up?

(edit; Although, if they're messing things up... should we all review our Emergency Cullen Thread Plan? In case of emergency, we... regroup in a new Cullen thread in the general DA:I forums? Or try to make one in the DA2 character forums first...?)

This reminds me of DA2, when you supposed to rescue Feynriel from the Captain in the docks. Before you leave the building you get those guys circling Thrask's daughter, saying "Get her hands. They can't cast without their hands." Then she turns into an abomination and says "You know nothing about Mages!"

I totally missed that! Hmm, the hands thing could be one of those urban legends about mages. Interesting idea... *down, plot bunny, down!*

You can also press the category button on the left to get back to the old index thiingy.  looks like a balloon?

We'd probably have to wait for the new game to come out. Wait for the new forum to be 'organized' and then create another thread...not liking that idea though.

Well, we're all "friends" on here. If the thread ever gets randomly deleted, we can contact each other and figure out what to do I know we're not ALL friends with each other (hard to keep track of who you've friended or forgotten to friend), but everyone I think is "friends" with someone in this thread.
