Well I was in the last beta but I'm not too eager to play it this weekend. I'd much rather play Skyrim, and even then much rather play Oblivion.

It doesn't seem like they're enforcing their NDA very rigidly anyway. I've seen a lot of stuff posted and not many people seem to be getting C&Ded for it.

As long as no one's spilling trade secrets, it can be seen as free publicity I guess.

From what I saw on Angry Joe's video it just looks like Skyrim but emptier.

Hah it's more a combination of Skyrim and Morrowind in term of visual direction. Very enjoyable.

Good, as far as I'm concerned. I see nothing positive coming from having that option available to the player character.

I'm not quite sure I see the context for this comment. We  haven't ever been able to do that, I don't think. Am I missing something?  Or is he just talking about the murder knife option or something?

There was a thread on the DAI forum not too long ago asking if torture will be an element in the game since we are leading an inquisition.

I assume it came from that.

Here it is

I honestly wouldn't have minded there being a torture option, provided it was completely optional.

Maybe a Horse Whistle like this?

It's been a Thing in a few other games.

There was never any indication it was a possibility for the DA series specifically as far as I know.

I think as far as the torture aspect will go is possibly ordering "your people" to handle it and informing you of the results later.

If not that, maybe ordering someone's execution like you could to Nate (and Alistair, to a degree), but not actually partaking in it.

And this is from assuming the original point of the post was asking to actually have the protag do the torture themselves, ex. GTA V.

I agree. David didn't nix the option of ordering a subordinate to torture for information, which I think will probably be an option within the game.

^I think it'd also be a good way to build and change your Inquisition's reputation and people's reactivity to you.
Could also change your relationship with certain companions as well.

So I won't be able to put people in a crushing prison spell and watch while they agonize in pain until they slowly start to realize they're about to die?

This isn't realy Cullen-related, but it does involve a templar, and I know at least one a few of us are Emeric fans.

I posted it on tumblr a couple of days ago, but I did some editing and feel comfortable enough to share it with the thread. It's a little steamy in a a few places, but it's a lot less blatant than usual. It probably could have been T, but I decided to play it safe with M.

Reunion, ~5500 words, complete

Finally got a chance to finish reading this. So lovely and sad! But touching! Loved it. Left you a review.

ah, I see. Thanks. Spanish Inquisition jokes/comments/confusion just seem *so* 2012 that that hadn't even occurred to me. LOL

well, you know the murder knife option will always be there! It is DA, after all! LOL But, like I've said before, I'm not terribly interesting in playing Grand Theft Dragon Age.  So I don't need to be able to kill/maim/torture everyone I encounter. Nor did I really expect it.

Yeah, it's like that whole "we should be allowed to kill everyone" arguement. If they put stuff like that in at all then it needs to because the story demands it, not the fans.

Grand Theft Dragon Age

I kind of want to play that :bandit:

You can kill almost anyone in Skyrim, but I never do it. The consequences are annoying at best (bloody hobbyist constables... or, er, actual constables). You can also kill almost anyone in Dragon's Dogma, with the same results, but it's hard to resist throwing Quina or Madeleine off a cliff from time to time.
