I like the idea of a freestyle page 3000 celebration with prompts for those who get stuck. That would let everybody take part regardless of their areas of expertise. I seem to remember some adorable Cullen-themed cupcakes somebody baked for one of the parties with little templar emblems and everything, so it doesn't have to be limited to traditional art or writing.R2s Muse wrote...
I like the fairy tale idea, particularly since it wouldn't necessarily have to be written. Kinda like the banter theme... which is also an option for page 3000. Generally we like to leave it open to whatever anyone wants to do... and if they need an idea/prompt, they can use the theme(s). So this could definitely be one of them.BevH wrote...
I used to belong to a fanfic site called The Attic that would issue a writing challenge every week. (This was a Baldur's Gate site) Anyway, one week the challenge was fractured fairy tales where you would take the Baldur's Gate characters from either game, or both, and insert them into a fairy tale or folk story of your choice. (I chose Jack and the Beanstalk.) So my thought was, we could list a fairy tale or folk story we would insert Cullen into, along with any supporting characters we wished. You wouldn't have to actually write the story, unless you wanted to of course, but it would be interesting to see what people would come up with.R2s Muse wrote...
So a quick public service announcement that we're approaching Page 3000, so any folks interested in contributing to celebration should start to think about something Culleny. I dunno if we want a theme, although IIRC we've heard a suggestion of AU, maybe. Another notion is the Cullen tshirt challenge. It also would be cool to see if we could draw out the lurkers for just one page (no pressure!).![]()
Thoughts? Ideas?
I also like the t-shirt challenge.

Oh, I can come up with design ideas. (I actually have a few in mind right now.) I could describe what I want it to look like. LOL, I thought you wanted us to draw them out to show everyone or something. That would have been a problem, since my drawing skills are comparable to a 5 year old's.R2s Muse wrote...
One thing I like about the t-shirt challenge, is that I don't think it requires someone to be an artist like I used to assume. Like seeing all the redbubble tshirts... it could be an interesting quote or anything like what we do around here for banners and whatnot. If we find one we really like and folks want it to be more 'polished' with proper format/resolution/whatever for submission to cafepress or zazzle or something for an actual tshirt, then maybe we could ask one of our resident experts to help transform it.TheBioticAssassin wrote...
Well, seeing as how I have no art or writing skills whatsoever, I think I might sit this one out. I would love to see what you guys come up with, though!
Also, the t-shirt challenge would be amazing. I really want some Cullen-themed t-shirts designed by my fellow Cullenites so I can wear them everywhere. Do it!
Anyway, those are my thoughts on the tshirt design, since I'm not particularly artsy myself... but I'm more confident these days that I could come up with some ideas... maybe.

Ah, and I see boxes stacking up in the corners of the old Cullen thread. Are we moving? When we do transfer over to the Keep-whenever that will be-I figure R2 or Lola just find a good perch and set up a thread. I don't see them transferring all the forums and what not.
We'll see, but if they do nix it, just set up again.
So, I''ll have to bounce back and forth between DA forums and ME forums? Hmm.

LOL Mine, too! But I figure, heck, even just do a mockup in Word. It's the ideas that count. It's worth mentioning again that it won't be a contest per se, just a general sharing like we usually do, since it's not like we have a budget to print up the "winning design" for all the participating cullenites. So there's no point in having one "winner," particularly since we each have own personal style and interests in what we'd actually wear on a t-shirt. But, I'm hopeful that anyone who shares a design would be willing to share it, royalty-free, with anyone who'd want to get it printed on their own at one of these do-it-yourself places online.TheBioticAssassin wrote...

Cool. I might draw something out if I find it hard to explain. And I'd be happy to let anyone use my designs if they wanted to. In fact, I'd be flattered.R2s Muse wrote...

So anyone who shares probably would have to be prepared for that. But, that's similar to any fanart/fanfic you send out into the internets.

You don't actually have to take the design anywhere to make a t-shirt. Simply buy some transfer paper and print the design out. Iron it on the shirt of your choice and... voila!!! T-shirt!!!R2s Muse wrote...

I'd just love to get more Cullen swag out into the world. And there are so many talented, creative folk here that it seems we could get some good ideas flowing.

While there are objectively worse NPCs, with Mulush it was personal. My character (Oona gra-Mootka, Orc warrior and wannabe paladin of Mara) got married to Omluag, one of the Bretons who worked at the smelter in Markarth. Mulush had beaten and humiliated her husband for years, and he got the business end of her greatsword in revenge. She accepted the consequences without hesitation, and proclaimed it was all worth it.Elfman wrote...
Why Mulush? I'm sure there's worse NPCs in Skyrim.

I got tired of the little kids telling me I was another servant there to lick their father's boot or something like that. I ended up installing that killable children mod(I know, I'm a terrible person). I couldn't control the inner beast inside me. Turned into a werewolf and made Whiterun a complete ghost town...including the children. Little snots. I'm a terrible human.

It's the kids that I wanted to kill the most. I like the Jarl of Whiterun though... Mostly because I've been watching Mans1ay3r videos again!

I do have a question/concern, though. What happens if the whole DA forum gets moved to the DA Keep website before we hit 3000? It'll be fine if all the threads get transfered over too, but what if they aren't and this thread gets deleted?
Would we still do the celebration and just re-brand it as a new Cullen thread celebration?

Then we re-re-brand it as the New Cullen Thread christening? Or maybe a hootenanny?LolaLei wrote...
Going back to the topic of our thread milestone, I like the idea of it being an open-theme since more people will be inclined to join in if they can create/write whatever they want (providing it's Cullen related, obviously lol).
