So, I've finished Asunder and determined that... yes, the templars are fairly solidly villainous in it, and the pattern seems to continue that the only good templars are the ones who leave the Order. I wonder what Cullen will do in that case...

Out of interest, what are you thoughts on the "retired" Templar Samson from DA2 who was helping to smuggle mages out of Kirkwall BUT wants to return to the Order and does if Hawke suggests to Cullen that he be allowed to rejoin.

Would you consider him to be "good" or "bad"?

I'd consider him neutral.

He's an addict, I doubt he's thinking clearly. I could see him as an enemy in the future, though.

If I were a mage previously helped by Samson I'd be really nervous to hear he'd rejoined the Templars. I mean.... doesn't he know where they're all running off to? It probably wouldn't take much for him to spill the beans on the smuggling ring.

Also, anyone else listening to music right now? I need some suggestions. (Old school Cult going now.)

Xilizhra: Yeah, it seems clear to me that he returned for the lyrium perks. It's a possibility that he may decide to smuggle mages out from the inside, but I suspect that his lyrium addiction is so strong that eventually he'd decide it was too much of a risk.

As for whether or not he could be an enemy in the future, I doubt we'll ever see or hear from him again, but I could see him falling prey to red lyrium if he decided not to follow the Templar rebellion and just get his dust from smugglers.

He could just confess to smuggling mages yet the Order could use him as their mole in return for him to get his lyrium. I think he's too deep into his addiction to really say no anymore...

I've never heard of Zeromancer before. He reminds me of the dude from Orgy back in the 90's. Not bad, but I'm not digging thier version of Send Me an Angel. lol Famous last words is nice though.

Kid told me enough with the Journey. Ha! I'm going to dig out the Siouxsie & the Banshees. That'll make him crazy.

I wonder if they'll have little lyrium dens start popping up like methadone clincs for those trying to kick the habit.

Zeromancer is a very under-rated group from Norway.  Their zzyzx album has a much more mature sound to it.  I don't really like send me an angel either lol

Yeah, I agree that his addiction pretty much dominates his motivations. Originally, he got kicked out for passing notes to a mage's sweetie, so it seems he might have been a mage sympathizer once upon a time. But, his current mage shuttling service seems to be a means to an ends as opposed to something purely philanthropic. He might be helping them, but not for free. Nor does he doesn't seem to look too closely at the folks he directs these mages to. Slavers? Oh darn. I think it's just a job to suppport his habit. And, he only wants back in to the Order to resume his habit. Who knows what his sympathies will be like once his lyrium access is stabilized.

If Cullen is made a companion/LI he'll obviously get his own unique outfit that will differ somewhat from his previous attire, but will likely still bare some sort of Templar insignia since that's what he's most recognised and remembered as.

So my question is, what sort of outfit would you want him wearing (aside from his birthday suit, 'cause that's a given LOL!) Would you want him in the typical Templar uniform that they all wear (skirt and heavy armor up top), or something similar to Meredith's custom armor but more manly? Or maybe something completely different and not Templar related at all?

I think he looks absolutely darling in his little templar plate armour, Perhaps with something similar to that but without the templar insignia(if he left the Order that is)?  Though I still wouldn't mind the birthday suit Posted Image

I'm kind of hoping he'll go rogue and not be wearing Templar gear. Something custom. I wish they'd give us some casual gear too. And if there's going to be an Orlisian ball (with mimosas) then i want to see him in some fancy duds too.

And I find this appropriate :

:)

I'm hoping his custom outfit/armor will actually be kinda similar to that concept Seeker armor in terms of it being quite fitted and a little more light weight than default Templar armor, maybe with a trouser/skirt combo (kinda like Meredith's but a male version.) I'd actually like him in black armor with a silver Templar insignia on it, but that would probably be too similar to the Seeker concept armor.

I'd love to see them hanging out in casual clothing between quests, kinda like how Shepard 'n' co in ME3 had off duty clothing, because it would make the companions seem even more approachable, like they're relaxed enough around our protagonist to ditch their battle outfits while relaxing etc. It would actually be quite strange seeing Cullen in regular clothing, if they do it then they should totally make some sort of comment about it in-game.

I'm not sure what's worse, the waiting or the lack of info to speculate on lol.

I don't mind if they don't want to release any solid details yet like the protagonists name or official news that it's in production, but a few pieces of concept art of environments and/or monsters would do. Or at the very least ask us more questions about the lore/characters/etc rather than merchandise and events.

I just want them to give us something we can really sink our teeth into, in order to get us all talking.
