Wouldn't it be crazy if it turned out that Cass wasn't an LI. Now THAT would cause outrage!

I'd cackle my a** off!!! It'd be hilarious!

I'd be like: "Oh, how the tables have turned!"

I think that's how others feel about us...

Trolling is fun.

It would take the heat off Cullen and his fans for a while, though!

You are devious my dear Morrigan2. Why haven't we made love as of yet?

Ok nevermind...

You haven't given me any gifts yet. (I like shineys!)

I'll show the shiney if you'd just step into this dank dark and tight alley with me....

... It glows in the dark? You might wanna see a healer about that one!

I think she might have a romantic side. If you play as a male Hawke, she flat out says it seems romantic to fight the Arishok in single combat, and Varric says something along the lines of it seeming like she has a crush on him, and if a female Hawke, a case of hero worship. She seems like a hard woman, so she probably has another "softer" layer to her. At least that's what they usually do with those types. I also figured she likes Varric's stories.

Wouldn't it suck if neither were romanceable and they go after each other in the game? :crying:

The way she said "romantic" made me think more of the literary definition than the "love" kind of romantic.

Aww they really changed his dialogue there? I thought it was the same as male Hawke. That's a shame =]

I'm glad haters haven't taken that single line as a reason to argue for Cass's 100% most-definitely-because-of-that- one-time heterosexuality. (a.k.a. Cullen and the mage origin lol)

Yeah, I usually played as a female, so I really took note when the line was changed to a "has a crush" when I played as a male Hawke. Thought it weird. They could of made both be crushes, or both be hero worshipped, didn't like how they differentiated the two. Could be taken as Varric making assumptions.

I'd love if she and Varric had a thing going on, even if it was just once whilst they were on the road together, LOL!

Well, knockin' him around, stabbing his books, yelling at him in concept arts and what not. Certainly adds -some- tension. Rocky beginning, softened by the end of his tale when he fills out the details and changes her perception. Combined with traveling with him, I could easily see something happening. We know people'll be getting together if we don't/can't romance them, till I find out more about the others, they seem the most likely.

I think by having the 'Chantry' companions like Alistair, Seb, Cass and Cullen heterosexual, they can sort of jump around the topic of 'no gay marriage in Thedas, guys.'

What about Orlais? They can marry anyone of the same gender? I thought you just had to "marry" someone of equal rank, more or less.

-Probably at some point. A templar’s job is to constantly watch the mages in the tower at all times; having stalker like tendencies is pretty much required to do their job.

I don't think I'd agree with this characterization of templars as stalkers. While I know that Sheryl Chee said that, she later recanted her characterization of Cullen as a stalker. I think it would be better to just say that watching is their job. That's not the same as stalking.

Yeah, can we maybe not go there with the stalkers thing? I don't mean to be That Guy, but please remember that caretaking jobs looking after people who have to be watched day and night for their safety and the safety of others are not restricted to the realms of fiction. As someone who has one of those jobs, it's not a characterization I'm very comfortable with.

Most of us don't do it because it's super fun to invade people's privacy. (It's not.) I realize that it's hard to understand looking in from the outside and just seeing the oddness of it, but genuinely caring about the people we're responsible for means doing what's necessary to keep them safe. If that means parking my chair by someone's bed for the night... well, it is what it is.

I am not even a little bit offended and I do call myself a stalker as a joke, but something like an FAQ is intended for a wider audience and not everyone is going to get that it's tongue-in-cheek. I wouldn't want that comment to be taken in ways not intended, is all. :)

What do you think about the mixed reaction to Cullen lately? Would that ever affect him being in DAI? I like him.

The best characters evoke reactions.

Is all I have to say about that.

Not to my knowledge. Marriage is a case of produce heirs rather than love. Shag all the men/women you want just have an heir and you're golden.

Like with Celene, they're fine she's having it off with women, they only have a problem with the fact that the woman she doing happens to have pointed ears.

I also so want that. Hopefully, they could be the Isabela and Fenris of Inquisition. So long as no one touches my Cullen or Vivienne, (her Valentine's Day card won me over so no matter what, I need my human mage to romance her).

LOL Loving the Varric/Cassandra shipping. Let us all keep in mind that the writers did just tease us about companions hooking up with EACH OTHER if not involved with the Inquisitor. Oh yesssss...

Out of the females we know about, my guess is that it'll be Cassandra and maybe!Sera elf girl from the GI dev diaries who will be romanceable. I don't reckon Vivienne will be as she seems like she'd be too sassy to be interested in our Inquisitors, lol.

Lol! Any second R2 is gonna come in and have to say, "guys we don't want the moderators to shut us down because of our plan to enslave half the worlds population!" Sorry R2!

LOL

R2 comes into the Cullen thread. Chairs and tables are askew. A lone nug walks across the deserted floor, with a large pink and glittery bow tied around its neck. Silly string hangs from the rafters and the velvet painting of Cassandra over the mantle has Cullen's head taped over hers.

"Um, what'd I miss??"

Hannah, thanks for this. Indeed, I think it's too easy to characterize such important jobs this way. :wizard:
