ohmygosh, that's so awesome!!! Welcome to the thread! And, def stay delurked a while. We also have several other 40-something moms floating around, myself included. Although, my five-year old is not nearly the artist your daughter is! LOL Wow!
Thank you so much! My daughter has 10 years on your little, so she's had some time to practice!

But the most fun was painstakingly driving the carriage up a steep mountain side and seeing if we could jump out and not die when it tumbled off the top of the mountain.
Wait.. no, the most fun is having a fist fight on the edge of a tall mountain. You eventually will get knocked out, and if you're lucky, you'll tumble over the edge and it'll be a really funny fall.
Much more entertaining than the co-op missions.

We used to steal coaches on RDR all the time. It almost always resulted in one of us being dragged on the outside, or becoming a floating head just floating alongside the carriage, or one time it super stretched my character until it decided it was tired of that and ZOOM!!!!ed it across the desert.

I work with teens, and they are always so excited when an oldster is into whatever they're into. I just took over our teen manga advisory group and it was the same thing. I like you whippersnappers better than people my own age most of the time!!!

Definitely one game where you don't want them to patch the glitches.

That and this annoying arm glitch I usually get with Wynne. She'll just stand there with one of her arms stretched out forever.

And, honestly, I don't play CoD for the multiplayer. I'm the minority that really doesn't like the multiplayer (mostly because of all the cursing and bigotry) and really likes the characters. I love Price, Soap, roach, Ghost, and all of the other characters from previous CoD titles whose names seem to be slipping my mind right now. I played Ghosts recently, and I actually liked the story. (
I'm also good at Halo. I love Master Chief to bits. Dat voice.

I've met a few older people who love games, and I'm always so happy to talk with them. I love finding Bioware fans in the least likely of places. I once had an in depth conversation about the Dragon Age story and lore with my Spanish teacher. It was on the last day of my freshman year in highschool, so we generally didn't have anything to do. We discussed the choices we made throughout DAO and DAII, giving details as to why we made those choices. I even told her I romanced Alistair, and we both squee'd.Shyviolet wrote...

I wish someone in my family would appreciate games as much as I do. They tend to see gamers as the stereotypical adult-living-in-his-parent's-basement type of person. I try to make them realise that's not the case, but they won't have it. My family is stubborn like that. <_<

This thread has finally dragged me out of a 3.5 year stretch of lurking. Unlike the rest of this forum, which terrifies me, this one seems uh, sane. And hopefully kind to 40 something mums who aren't very good at combat, but love gaming all the same, AND gasp! like the romances.
I was mainly indifferent to Cullen for the most part before I finally tried playing as a mage. And then he got a whole lot more interesting
My daughter drew Cullen for me, based on my description of his personality and some screen shots. Sadly neither of my ungrateful offspring play Dragon Age. Here it is. (I hope it works!)
Welcome to the thread!!!Whoa, tell your daughter that that is a positively ADORABLE Cullen LOL!
Your screen name is so appropriate, haha!! xD
Cullen love is ageless. We have 20-somethings as well as 30s and 40s. I'm 33 myself. Not sure if we have anyone in their teens or over 50. But all are welcome.
This truly is one of the most friendly, mature (in the sense that we don't purposefully troll or hurt each other) threads in the BSN. Certainly the only active one in the DA forums that is truly filled with kind people.
Umm... MMG... I'll be 61 in May...

Well...... I do live in my parent's basement!
I've had to defend myself to my elderly relatives, so I feel your pain. Though at least I have the fun of swapping boss fight stories with my kids.

25 in May, and I still living with my mother.
My mother actually supports me going into video games if I so desire. I am still making that decision, however.
The rest of the family is a bit more skeptical. My aunt doesn't want her kid playing violent video games - which is hard to find these days. I pointed out that I have played video games since I was five and I am hardly violent.
