I think it's a morph of Greg Ellis and someone else. I wonder if Cullen's face is modelled on anyone IRL?

I'm hoping his custom outfit/armor will actually be kinda similar to that concept Seeker armor in terms of it being quite fitted and a little more light weight than default Templar armor, maybe with a trouser/skirt combo (kinda like Meredith's but a male version.) I'd actually like him in black armor with a silver Templar insignia on it, but that would probably be too similar to the Seeker concept armor.

I'd love to see them hanging out in casual clothing between quests, kinda like how Shepard 'n' co in ME3 had off duty clothing, because it would make the companions seem even more approachable, like they're relaxed enough around our protagonist to ditch their battle outfits while relaxing etc. It would actually be quite strange seeing Cullen in regular clothing, if they do it then they should totally make some sort of comment about it in-game.

gah, I would just love to see him in regular clothes. I've imagined it too many times... I want to see the real thing! But, I like your ideas about the armor. That seeker concept looked very cool. Honestly, for armor, I just can't see him without the skirt and heavyplate, but indeed, I don't really see him being a templar any longer in DA3. I still think he'd need massive armor, hopefully reminiscent of his former armor, but unique.

Both...

I don't mind if they don't want to release any solid details yet like the protagonists name or official news that it's in production, but a few pieces of concept art of environments and/or monsters would do. Or at the very least ask us more questions about the lore/characters/etc rather than merchandise and events.

I just want them to give us something we can really sink our teeth into, in order to get us all talking.

I'm not really sure what point they are at in terms of development/lore I'm sure we'll hear something at least by the end of the year.  I dislike waiting for more info though....

Yeah, I used to think it was a morph, but it's not. Here's the original. She basically just changed his eyecolor and added the tattoo.  re: his face model, I would doubt it based on that comment by DG about how that's what you end up with when you ask for "clean cut" but who knows!

Well I would assume that he would continue on with the heavy armor since that is what he's used to. He'd look nice in the Seeker armor.

So we've talked about a companion being a turncoat. What would you think if our PC was the turncoat or rather recruited to keep an eye on our companions? How would you feel to find that you've been working for the bad guys all along? (Whatever side that may be.)

Maybe they'll release something at one of the bigger events? I just hope it'll be before the year is out. I wonder just how far into development they actually are? I mean, technically they started working on it after DA2 came out.

I'd like to think that they're putting in the finishing touches to the script and storyboards and have already started working on digital first drafts of the companions and environments etc. I think they've already picked the companions, according to recent tweets giving subtle hints and teasers.

That would be a pretty interesting revelation! I dare say a lot of people would kick off though lol. I think it would be kinda cool, especially if you got the option to "go rogue" and turn against your "boss" or whoever sent you. I guess if we were to play as a Seeker we'd be pretty much doing that anyway (although I'd hope being a Seeker wouldn't be mandatory.)

Lol, if hypothetically we did play as a Seeker I wonder what Cullen's reaction would be? Especially since Seekers have to watch over the Templars. I bet he wouldn't be best pleased.

Would he be pissed though? I mean if he's left the Templars already on his own? If he hasn't, I can see that he'd be miffed for sure. Would make for some fun master / servant campfire moments. lol

I would absolutely want the option to turn on your boss though. Let me chose if I want to continue being a jerk or not.

I think he'd be a bit weird about it anyway, just because Templars aren't keen on being watched etc.

I'm sure they were taking a while to look back at what they've done already, went through a whole, "Okay, how did we screw up with DA2 and how can we fix it?"  I'd have to agree with the whole script thing too, I'm sure they're doing the finishing touches on it and are now working on concept work...  Or at least, I hope.  Would be interesting if they were to give us a big surprise on it in the up-coming months.

This would be so cool! I know there are issue with forcing the PC to think a certain way or be a certain way, but if you were just being duped, that would be a cool  plot  point.

Hmm, what would Cullen think of you if you were a Seeker? Interesting. Yeah, my head canon is that templars have heard all sorts of tall tales about Seekers without ever actually meeting one, based on that codex entry. So, I could see him being simultaneously intrigued and wary.

"What if she really can read my mind? That would be... awkward..." he thought.

"Cullen, why are you blushing?" Seeker!PC asked.

:D

It would be totally awesome! Like, they've kept super quiet letting us think they have nothing to show yet... Then BAM here's a trailer, some early first draft game play and the new protagonists name!

R2: Omg that would be amazing! I bet he'd think that about a Mage protagonist as well LOL, bless him!

Oooo I love the idea that the protagonist is duped in some way. Kinda reminds me of Jade Empire again with Master Li.

Heh heh, that might be a little plot bunny I'll have to file away... I see lots of fun awkwardness with something like that. LOL

So, what are you guys most worried about in terms of DA3, not only with the possibility of them making Cullen a companion, but the game and story etc itself.

Hmm, does it make me sound like too much of a loyalist that I'm not really worried about anything? I honestly loved DA2 as much as DA:O, so I have faith that I'll love DA3 as much. So the only thing that concerns me is that my favorite character might not appear. Other than that, there are little wishes and desires that I might be sorta bummed if they didn't come to pass. Like, resolution on the OGB storyline, explaining the difference between a High Seeker and a Lord Seeker, more info on all the vague 'dragons are the blood of the world' nonsense from the comics. But those all are all pretty minor.

 My concerns are as follows:

Firstly surrounding Cullen:

That Greg Ellis won't be available to do his voice
That they'll change his personality to the extent that it doesn't feel like he's Cullen anymore
That he'll be all about the Templars plight with very little else to say
That they'll kill him off without giving us the option to save him
That he won't be a companion
That he won't be in DA3 at all
That he won't be romancable
That he'll already be married
That they ruin his face, like they did to Alistair and Zev
That I won't be able to romance him as a Mage (but that's not massively important if I can romance him as any other class)
That under all circumstances the protagonist won't get to stay with him (although that would make great drama!)

Concerns with the game itself:

That it'll feel rushed
That we will get even less character interaction
That the characters will feel shallow and not as likeable
That multiplayer will take away from the main single player game (if they do multiplayer)
That the introduction to the protagonist will be lacking (I wasn't keen on our introduction to Hawke)
That there will be thousands of pointless fetch quests and random spawning fights
That they kill of Alistair and/or my Warden
That they kill off Hawke and/or his/her love interest
That the Templars and mages will be portrayed as caricature villains and nutters
That there will be no clear cut objective/story
That everything will be dirt coloured and boring looking lol

Little wishes? Like what? (I'm curious, you always have awesome ideas for stuff.)

Oh, not so interesting. Just the lore-type of things that interest me, like I listed above. Like, I'd be bummed if I don't find out what happened to the Warden and Hawke, what happened to the OGB, if Flemeth doesn't show up (not likely, anyway), more about Seekers and dragons, if Cullen doesn't show up at all, if there's no mention of Corypheus and Janeka/Larius, no explanation for what the Grey Wardens were doing in Kirkwall. That sorta thing.

Game mechanics-wise, my only real concern is that I can't  play it. So, if it suddenly gets first-person, or close third-person POV, then it'll make me motion sick. But thankfully, I don't see that happening. I suppose I share your concern about multi-player a bit, but so long as I can ignore it in favor of single-player, I'm good. I do hope they improve little things like the companion homebases and the incidental interactions with them. Then, I suppose if suddenly if the PC was a fixed, male  protagonist, I'd be pretty bummed, too.:crying:

Oh gawd yeah, I'd hate it if we couldn't create our protagonists gender/appearance etc!

One of the devs made a tweet about a southern accent for the protagonist, I'm wondering if that'll be Ferelden again or Orlais since they are both in the South side of the map.

Oh yeah! I was wondering about that one, my first thought being that maybe some new Thedas country would have an american southern accent as its regional accent. LOL How funny would that be? Your interpretation probably makes more sense.

Unless it's a southern accent from whatever country in Thedas he/she is from. So if they were from Antiva then it would be the southern part, which I guess would be a southern Italian accent? Or if it's Ferelden then that's a southern English accent anyway lol.
