pfff well I guess that settles my dream of me working in ANY game company... I have as much talent on working on a  character as I do winning the lottery (and that is none) based on what Nick said...:(:(

Your render is great, ag. It just takes a lot of dedication and practice to keep going ahead and get better, you can't let negative comments bring you crashing down.

All those artists started off at the same point too.

Wow I feel like I'm so behind with the thread. Don't know why. I read it every day, I just don't always post anything.

From the Canticle of Trials:

Maker, though the darkness comes upon me,
I shall embrace the light. I shall weather the storm.
I shall endure.

What you have created, no one can tear asunder.

:crying: I can see post-DA2 Cullen clinging to this... perhaps Cullen in a cell, praying...

Ouch, that mental image hit me right in the feels!

Unfortunately I think that post-DA2, Cullen may be in a fairly vulnerable position. On the one hand, he'd make an easy scapegoat for the templar side for the failures in Kirkwall, particularly in an ending where he let Hawke & Friends leave after they sided with the mages, and particularly if he continued to insist on moderation when it came to things like Annulment. On the other hand, though, if the mage front wanted to make an example of somebody, Cullen would be an obvious candidate - a symbol of oppresson in Kirkwall - particularly if he'd left active templar service and thus didn't have the protection it afforded him. People from both sides would have reasons for wanting his head on a plate, and he might not have much refuge depending on the choices he made following the game's ending.

I just... really badly want the poor man to be happy, even if only for a little while. If we can't have him as a companion and/or LI, can we at least have that, pretty please?

Doesn't help when they make timelines that make no sense to me. Like how the Blight was ended in 1 year, but then how long did Awakening take? And Anders was already in Kirkwall, blah blah.. And Hawke was in Kirkwall for 7 years, but the trophies/achievements specifically word it as a year passing between each act, for example: "For each year in Kirkwall, find 3 notes from the Band of Three" or whatever.. Makes my head hurt.

I think Asunder takes place 3 years after the end-game events. They seem to like doing 3 year things.

 Yep, 3.

The Dragon Age wiki actually has a really good timeline for the Dragon Age...or at least the best I've seen so far lol. From what I understand Origins started shortly before Lothering falling, but within the same year and was finished prior to Hawke meeting Varric within the same year that Origins ended Awakening happened over an unknown amount of time, but not a year. I'll find it for you since it made my head hurt too :D

The timeline has always made my head explode. Image IPB

We know in the prologue of DA2 that the wardens have already left the Lothering when Flemeth meets the Hawkes, per Flemeth's remark. It took 2 weeks for the ship the Hawkes took from Gwaren to reach Kirkwall, but we don't know how long it was before they left Gwaren. The real head-explode moment for me, though, is when Anders shows up. The Blight concludes at some point during Hawke's year of servitude and then Awakening occurs. We don't know how long it takes to complete Awakening, but the real problem is when does it start? For the HNF marrying Alistair, it wouldn't occur until 6-8 months following the conclusion of Origins (wedding occurs six months later and then the touring of the bannorn). So, given that, Anders wouldn't have left Ferelden until almost a year after the end of the Blight. So how can he be in 2 places at the same time? Image IPB We also have to assume that 6 years have gone by prior to the beginning of Act 3 due to Merrill's remark about the roof of her house. I'm guessing that we're to believe that Meredith's demise comes at 7 years since the start of DA2. As far as Asunder's timeline goes, I'm not too sure how it fits. Anders' actions are mentioned, so the events in Kirkwall have already taken place. In King Alistair's visit, he mentions Orlais wanting it's lost province back, so I would assume that Celene is still in Val Royeaux while in the book she is not. Leliana is also in Val Royeaux, so she would've returned to Orlais after her visit in Act 3.

Just revisiting this for a second! But Hawke and family wouldn't have left Lothering until after one of the major quests the Warden had to do was done, seeing it isn't until after that the blight reaches Lothering. So that probably adds a bit more time for things to happen, and would also mean the siblings' year of servitude ended after the blight had already ended...? So there's more time there for things to happen, I suppose. *rubs chin*

For the HNF marrying Alistair, it wouldn't occur until 6-8 months following the conclusion of Origins (wedding occurs six months later and then the touring of the bannorn).

The epilogue slides aren't really canon, so it's completely possible that Awakening retconned it by occurring almost immediately after Origins. Which would give Anders time, albeit barely, to make it to Kirkwall.

Also, I've been thinking... given the presence of Cassandra, the Iron Bull, and the Grey Warden, do we really need another warrior? Especially since we only look to have two mages, Vivienne and Dorian, and two rogues, Varric and Sera... and the fact that Cassandra is already the holy warrior? I'm just beginning to think that Cullen might have been bumped back as a companion to the fourth game.

Origins was pretty warrior heavy, so I don't find the possibility of four DAI warrior companions to be that much of a stretch.

Three "normal" warriors (Alistair, Sten, Oghren) and two "special" (Dog and Shale) warriors. That's not even including a warrior warden, so that can be a grand total of six warriors right there, if you count Shale and Dog.

To be honest, though, I don't want it to be so warrior-heavy. Warriors are probably my least favorite class to play as. I've got nothing against including Cullen, and maybe it would have been better to make Cassandra an NPC, include Cullen, and have a female Grey Warden warrior, but as it stands, it seems to me as though it's probable that Cullen will not be a playable companion.

Quite possibly a romance option in some way still, though.

Don't get disheartened, you're still young so you've got plenty of time to do all the courses and develop the skills needed. Plus, there are also indie games developers out there who are easily accessible and would serve as experience if you work on some of their games.... or you could make your own!

If it's something you want badly, definitely don't give up! <3

Oh, most definitely. Nick is an awesome guy. He and I had a nice conversation in the chat while we watched. I swear to God though, this stream gets better and better each week. You guys made me laugh a lot, and I really needed it yesterday. However, my favorite moment by far was when you smashed the drum. Both yours and Ashe's response made me cackle for at least 10 minutes.

Yeah, or the the first week of March. From what I can tell, the dev diaries kinda cover similar stuff to what Nick was talking about. The process of writing/creating/etc rather than anything else, but there's bound to be new images, footage etc for us to analyse etc.
