Last week of February. Hopefully we get a Dev Diary to end the month with.
Yeah I'm fairly confident they will release it this week myself. If not I'll be angry if I'm forced to choose between Episode 2 of TWD's release which I am also confident will be not this Tuesday but the Tuesday after that. Yeah it's ten/fifteen to an hour's difference depending on which I pick, but still.

Well, none of us know, with absolute certainty, that Iron Bull is even a companion. He could be a very important NPC. Then again, so could Cullen. We can't be certain until the almighty devs decree it.Xilizhra wrote...
Also, I've been thinking... given the presence of Cassandra, the Iron Bull, and the Grey Warden, do we really need another warrior? Especially since we only look to have two mages, Vivienne and Dorian, and two rogues, Varric and Sera... and the fact that Cassandra is already the holy warrior? I'm just beginning to think that Cullen might have been bumped back as a companion to the fourth game.
And perhaps Cullen is different this time around. Maybe he's not so holy anymore. A vigilante serving no one, kicking a** and taking names... as long as he still has morals. He wouldn't be Cullen anymore if he would allow the Inquisitor to burn an entire village or kill an innocent without him trying to stop her/him.
I agree with your sentiments regarding warrior-heavy parties. I, for one, enjoy playing as a warrior during my first playthrough of DA games, but that doesn't mean I want a party full of warriors. That could lead to problems. For example, in DA:O, I always brought Alistair with me and I myself played as a warrior, so I had no need to bring Sten, Shale, or Oghren with me anywhere. I missed out on a lot of content because of that.Xilizhra wrote...
To be honest, though, I don't want it to be so warrior-heavy. Warriors are probably my least favorite class to play as. I've got nothing against including Cullen, and maybe it would have been better to make Cassandra an NPC, include Cullen, and have a female Grey Warden warrior, but as it stands, it seems to me as though it's probable that Cullen will not be a playable companion.
Quite possibly a romance option in some way still, though.
I hope the party is balanced this time around, and I also hope Cullen is a companion. The two don't have to be mutually exclusive.

Cullen provides that Pro-Templar role a bit better than Cassandra does. I also think she's going to be much more involved in the investigation of the Big Bad then of the Mage-Templar War. Cullen would have opinions (I'm assuming) on Red Templars beyond "TRAITORS!!!" and on the Circle system itself since he's seen the flaws of more free reign (Ferelden) and utter lockdown (Kirkwall).
As for a Warrior heavy team as has been mentioned I suspect there will be one, just because they've never had more than two mages (companions) in the party. I recall a post mentioning that they didn't want a party of only mages because it extremely unbalanced gameplay wise, but I could be misremembering.
I'd actually be really disappointed if Cullen is ONLY an LI, simply because I won't be interested in romancing him and was more looking forward to his character. Not that they wouldn't develop his character, but there'd be less of it as an NPC unless he has a major part in the plot. I wouldn't mind him showing up in a future game though as a companion.

I also wonder if they'll still have facial tattoos. I rarely picked them unless I was Dalish as it was rare I made a character one would look good on. Full body would be nice, but I somehow doubt we'll have the option.

Agreed... I mean, sure I want to romance him, but I also wanted to drag him around Thedas and open his eyes to life outside of the Order.Danny Boy 7 wrote...

I guess having him as a romanceable-NPC would be better than nothing, but I'd need A LOT of interaction with him to make it feel as full as a companion romance. I'd also hope that we'd get at least one quest with him, even if it's only the obligatory "oh look, I found Cullen" quest that we've had in both the previous games, lol.

I definitely agree with this to some degree; I don't want Cullen in the game just so I can get busy with him. BUT I would argue that being a party member doesn't necessarily equal character development. I think of ME and how the people in your party never really mattered, unless you got to a certain cut scene that was designed for that particular character (Kaiden/Ashley on Mars in ME3, for example).Danny Boy 7 wrote...

Of course that's ME not DA... but if they make Cullen a romance-able NPC, even though he can't literally join your squad and you can't level him up and what not, perhaps he will still be part of big, important cut scenes (such as a war room cut scene), AND if he's hanging around a certain spot, you can still go there and chat with him and investigate his past, etc. I would be totally okay with this.

I would love for my (hypothetical at this point) street rat city elf to have tattoos and piercings!!Lord Xendria wrote...
Huh.. so I was just re-looking over Varric's new armor and stuff, and I noticed something. No more earrings! At least for those pictures. Hopefully they didn't ditch his piercings like they got rid of Anders'. Which reminds me.. I really wanted the option for some sorta jewelry. Isabela gets a labret piercing, I'd personally want something for the nose, if not also ears.
I also wonder if they'll still have facial tattoos. I rarely picked them unless I was Dalish as it was rare I made a character one would look good on. Full body would be nice, but I somehow doubt we'll have the option.

I seriously wish they would just come out and confirm the kind of elf we are if we're a warrior or rogue. They confirmed we're a Dalish mage, so I don't see how spoilerific confirming the kind of elf we are would be. I don't see how spoilery any background confirmation would be really. It's not like I want big spoilers, just 'city elf', 'Circle mage', 'Avvar' would do me.

Don't get disheartened, you're still young so you've got plenty of time to do all the courses and develop the skills needed. Plus, there are also indie games developers out there who are easily accessible and would serve as experience if you work on some of their games.... or you could make your own!
If it's something you want badly, definitely don't give up! <3
Thank you Lola for the encouragement.
Actually I was thinking of making some sort of a wannabe "DLC" (for the Cullen fans) like something pre INQ about Cullen like when R2 had that page 2500 challange about what Cullen has been up too since DA2 (obviously it would be on a completely diffrent engine like UDK / Unity/ CryEngine) Also would require some voice acting and some writting of the story, and some concept arts... and then I would do the modeling and then implement everything into the engine.. idk I guess its just a crazy thought I had... there are certantly A LOT of talented ppl in this thread.. just saying:whistle:

Or a better look at an elf, period. On the engine.
The eyes I'm very interested in. Alot of the concept art has them with blacked out eye whites and an eerie iris.
The elf face models they showed also looked to have very bright eyes, but I think they changed it all again, as that bald elf model had fairly normal eyes. I'm wondering if we'll have more "out there" colours to choose from for the elf eyes, more so than we had in Origins. Jethann blue would be good.
I just wanna see -something-!

Definitely. I distinctly remember, for both elves and qunari, (or maybe just qunari), reading before Origins was released that unusual eye colours among these races exist, for instance purple eyes. Sure it's not the Morrigan and Flemeth yellow I crave, but purple would be amazing.

If you zoom in on that Sera telling a dirty joke concept art, it looked like they gave her purple eyes, a lavender shade almost. Whether or not they kept that idea for the game version, I guess we'll have to see.

Unless the eye color is really, really bright and vibrant, I always have my face right on the screen just to try to see.

I can't see it even then.
Pretty sad. I usually pick the biggest eye option and make it super big in the slider, then I pick what eye colour I want before picking the eye shape I wanted.
At least 2 was better for that, though some shades of brown blurred together for me.
The lighting also doesn't help.
Hopefully Xenon and his urchin can figure out a way to take their show on the road.

Purple would be my top choice, I make most of my characters have purple eyes. With mods. Too many base games give blah colours though, so I hope they give lots of interesting options.

Varric has bright orange eyes in that cosplay reference guide they posted up on the BioWare blog, so maybe we'll get the option of other crazy looking colours.
