Hm, I wonder what our new protagonist's (both my and female) default appearance will look like this time round? Maybe they'll be blonde?
I admit to being highly curious about this as well... even if I have never once used the default. Personally, I'm hoping for a broader range of haircolors. Our ability to mod the game will decrease with every iteration, and I'm really getting tired of having to choose between light brown and black. I want dark brown hair. Almost black, but not quite. Like the guy in my avatar.

Wait, the romance scene music is an individual companion theme and not just generic music? I'm rather surprised.LolaLei wrote...
I wonder if each love interest will have their own theme song? I loved Fenris' one the best because it was so atmospheric, closely followed by Isabela's. Did any one else notice that Fenris' theme would play almost everytime you spoke to him but the other companions themes didn't when you spoke to them, and only played during the love scene? I wonder why that was?

Kinda, Isabela's theme plays during her sex scene, but usually their themes will only play occasionally throughout the game. Isabela and Fenris have proper themes, Anders kinda has one called "mages pride" that plays every now and again, Merrill has a sort of theme but it sounds more like ambience with the occasional instrument playing... If that makes sense. I've been trying to collect them up on YouTube to post here but I'm on here using my iPhone so it's kinda tricky.

LOL just like that! Although, I'm wondering if our protagonists default appearance will be very stereotypically French looking if he/she is Orlesian... Hopefully they'll ditch the beret and onion necklaces though!

PizzaTheHutt: You should totally check their theme songs out on YouTube and let me know which one you think would suit Cullen the best.
I'm finding it hard to enjoy the soundtrack to be honest, some of the songs are pretty good but most of them sound the same which is getting rather annoying. I'm not much of an expert when it comes to music so I can't really say what would fit Cullen, perhaps something that sounds harsh yet innocent? He's gone through a lot of crap and has seen much but when it comes to experiencing what's out there he can be innocent at times or naive. I could imagine a lot of the string part of an orchaestra playing his piece with perhaps a few of the brass...?

Ooooo yeah that would work! Or something kinda dark but hopeful. Unfortunately a lot of the music in DA2 sounds the same, which is a shame. There are some gems in there though.

Just as long as it doesn't make the rest of the soundtrack sound repetitive. I'm trying to look for something that would sound like what I had in mind that would be age appropriate to the setting but it seems to slip my mind... Krosis, now I'm getting critical

Actually Xilizhra inadvertently suggested something pretty awesome there. A different piece of theme music for each companions sex scene that is unique to each love interest, that would be something that would help to make those scenes feel more tailored to each romance, perhaps making them feel more "special"?
I love that!

I love that!It would make sense if the love scene music blended with the theme song of the LI
Ooooo! Like there own "intro" theme that would play when we first meet them (preferably in some epic way) and then a seperate "love" theme for when they make the sexy time lol.

PizzaTheHutt: What about tunes from other games or films? Is there anything you can think of that would be fitting for Cullen from something like that?
Soundtrack-wise I can't really think of anything but I like Beethoven's 7th symphony, 2nd movement. I don't really know(or care) if it has some sort of backstory to it but to me it reflects Cullen's seriousness, his inner struggle with ptsd(especially at the stronger parts of the piece, it sounds like there's some sort of clash of wills going on) at parts it could seem a bit naive, yet gives one a feeling of strength/hope. All-in-all a beautiful piecce of music very fitting for Cullen in my opinion.
This one is a bit sped up but it's still pretty good

yeah, like an intro theme, a sexytime theme(if they are an LI) and a goodbye theme(depends on script I guess) all blending in into the truest form of the characters theme song and when conjoined, they become a reflection of the character themselves(which would be awesome)

Ooooo a goodbye scene theme too! You're good at this! All three pieces for each individual LI should have something about them that sounds similar enough that you can tell all 3 are for the said companion and, like you said, could be put together back to back and sound like one big piece, going through a large range of emotions.
haha Yeah! Quick, someone send this to DG!

You think they actually do that? What if they lurk at the wrong times?!

Surely they've popped in at least once? I mean, at the rate this thread is growing it's one of the fastest moving ones in the DA2 forum (if not the fastest some days) which, wouldn't normally be anything unusual, except for the fact that he's only an NPC. I've not seen any other NPC threads this size, least not in here. Someone's bound to take notice eventually.
... Whether or not it helps swing Cullen in companion/LI territory remains to be seen, but it's worth a try.

You'd think they would have said something to us, unless it doesn't matter that much in the grand scheme of things... Here's to hoping he won't stay just an NPC in the next title!

I'm sure they got a good laugh out of it too! They gotta watch out for that Templar swagger of his sometimes!

In a way it's a good thing that they don't comment in here, otherwise it would be swamped with people coming in from the main forum wanting to get their word in and before you know it this thread would turn into a mage vs Templar debate page... Then shut down lol.
It would certainly be a shame if Cullen isn't a companion/LI in DA3. My personal opinion would be that he would be a missed opportunity if they don't use him. A lot of people say he shouldn't come back/it would be impossible and bad writing for him to suddenly turn up in Orlais (or wherever) as a companion because "he should be in Kirkwall standing in as Knight-Commander", but that's bollocks, there's no circles left and the Templars have rebelled, if anything he has more reason than most to be in Orlais in order to report the events of DA2 to the Divine. From there whether he became a companion/LI or not would be down to how the writers feel he could be implemented. Hell, we've come up with hundreds of ways that would give him cause to join our protagonist, so if we can do it then I'm sure the DA team can too!

It could be written that for security sake it would be bad to leave so few templars in a city full of blood mages, especially someone like him. I could better imagine them reassigning him to Orlais, with his experience he would be better off serving closer/giving advice to the Divine instead of leading a doomed cities templar order.
Plus he was directly involved in both big mage/Templar issues to have occurred in recent years. First off the blood mage trouble at the Ferelden Circle tower where he was tortured, and then again in Kirkwall with Anders/Meredith kicking up the rebellion. Cullen is probably the most important link to what's wrong with the system and has experienced it first hand. Not to mention he's been both a mage sympathier and mage "hater" (can't think of a better word) for a while before becoming neutral and was once in love with a mage (in some people's game.) For him not to be a companion/LI would be a huge shame... And for him to not be in DA3 at all would be a mammoth **** up.
